CUSTOMIZED TIBIAL TRAYS, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS FOR KNEE REPLACEMENT

A tibial tray system for a resurfaced proximal portion of a tibia for a knee replacement for a patient includes a tibial tray and at least one screw. The tibial tray includes a body having a superior portion, and an inferior tibia-engaging portion having a peripheral inferiorly-extending portion receivable in the at least one cavity formed in the periphery of the resected cancellous bone surface of the tibia of the patient. In some embodiments in the total knee replacement, a greater portion of a shearing force acting transversely on the tibial tray and the resected portion of the proximal portion of the tibia of the patient is resisted by the at least one inferiorly-extending wall compared to a portion of the shearing force being resisted along the center inferior surface of the tibial tray and the resected cancellous bone surface. The screw inhibits lift-off.

Glenoid resurfacing system and method

The present disclosure relates to a system and method for repairing an articular surface. A guide pin may be secured to an articular surface of a glenoid, wherein the guide pin defines a working axis and the working axis is positioned at an angle α relative to the articular surface, wherein angle α is less than or equal to 90 degrees. An excision device may be advanced over the guide pin, wherein the excision device includes a cannulated shaft and at least one cutter, wherein the at least one cutter is generally aligned in a single plane. A generally hemi-spherical excision site may be formed with the excision device within the articular surface of the glenoid.

Glenoid implant anchor post

A method of fixating a prosthesis to a glenoid is disclosed. The method includes forming a bore in the glenoid; positioning the prosthesis adjacent the glenoid, where the prosthesis includes a head portion and an anchor extending from a rear surface of the head portion; wherein the anchor includes a first fin and a second fin proximal of the first fin; advancing the anchor into the bore until the first fin is implanted within cancellous bone; and further advancing the anchor in the bore until a proximal-facing surface of the second fin is implanted within cancellous bone and abuts cortical bone.

Modified glenoid components and methods of installing same

A glenoid component for securement to a glenoid surface of a scapula comprises a body portion having a first surface adapted to contact the glenoid surface of a scapula and a second surface configured to receive the head portion of a humerus. The glenoid component further includes an anchor peg for penetrating the glenoid surface of the scapula so as to secure the body portion to the glenoid surface of the scapula. The anchor peg includes a cylindrical shaft extending from the first surface of the body portion and a fin secured to and extending outwardly from the cylindrical shaft. The glenoid component further includes a feature that prevents rotation of the glenoid component.

A modular augment cone system and methods of implanting the modular augment cone system. The system includes a main body cone a first cutout in the cone wall, and including a proximal end, a distal end, and a cone wall extending between the proximal and distal ends. A portion of the cone wall proximal to the first cutout includes an attachment feature. A first augment cone is positionable in the first cutout, the first augment cone including an attachment feature configured to mate with the attachment feature of the cone wall to attach the first augment cone into the first cutout. The main body cone can include a second cutout in the cone wall. In such systems, the modular augment cone system can include a second augment cone configured to mate with an attachment feature of the cone wall to attach the second augment cone into the second cutout.

Intervertebral implant

An intervertebral implant for being implanted between adjacent vertebrae is provided. The implant includes a generally elongate implant body having a length extending between opposite longitudinal ends thereof, a superior face and an inferior face. The superior face and inferior face include cortical teeth adjacent to the implant body longitudinal ends. Additionally, the superior and inferior faces include longitudinally central teeth intermediate the cortical teeth and have bone engaging ends. The central teeth have a sharper configuration than that of the cortical teeth bone engaging ends for biting into the softer central bone material of the vertebrae. The cortical teeth are arranged in a first density per unit area and the central teeth are arranged in a second density per unit area that is less than the first density.
