A joint implant adapted for use in joint surgeries. Among other things, the joint implant has an anterior cutting edge and a rotatable cutter supported by a rotatable shaft. A polyaxial adapter can be incorporated into the current joint implant. The present implant can include a rotatable shaft that has a conduit and windows.

Systems and methods for inserting an interbody spacer and bone plate assembly

Implant assemblies, systems, and methods for stabilizing a joint between a superior vertebra and an inferior vertebra may include a plate member coupled to an interbody spacer with at least one fastener that extends superiorly or inferiorly from the implant assembly to anchor within a vertebral body and stabilize the joint. Inserters and methods of insertion may also be included to facilitate fixation of various implant assemblies within the intervertebral space of the joint between the superior vertebra and the inferior vertebra.

IMPLANT PEG WITH MULTIPLE COMPONENTS

Provided is a tibial tray component in an ankle replacement prosthetic system that comprises modular fixation elements that provide surgeons with variety of interchangeable fixation options. Also provided is a tapered peg that provides enhanced bone plate fixation.

Embodiments may include an attachable fastener, which may include a bondable material that may be secured to the end of an end effector. Vibration may be tuned to occur at a distal end of the fastener. Accordingly, the fastener may be used to generate heat at a distal point of contact. If the contact surface contains bondable material, that material may be softened. If the fastener includes bondable material at the point of contact, that material may also be softened by heat produced by vibration at the contact area. A hard implant or another polymeric material may function as the anvil.

Intervertebral implant with keel

An intervertebral implant component of an intervertebral implant includes an outer surface for engaging an adjacent vertebra and an inner surface. A keel extends from the outer surface and is designed to be disposed in a slot provided in the adjacent vertebra. This keel extends in a plane which is non-perpendicular to the outer surface; and preferably there are two of the keels extending from the outer surface which are preferably offset laterally from one another. In another embodiment, an anterior shelf is provided at an anterior end of the outer surface, and this anterior shelf extends vertically away from the inner surface in order to help prevent bone growth from the adjacent vertebra towards the inner surface. Further in accordance with disclosed embodiments, various materials, shapes and forms of construction of the component and/or keel provide various benefits.

POROUS SURGICAL IMPLANT AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME

A surgical implant and a method for the making the surgical implant is provided. The surgical implant includes various granules incorporated into an upper surface and a lower surface of a body portion thereof. The granules can be pressed into the upper surface and the lower surface via physical force using at least one mold portion. The physical force applied by the at least one mold portion can deform and/or extrude the upper surface and the lower surface to impregnate these surfaces with the granules. The granules can provide the implant with bioresorbable and/or mechanically-reinforced properties.

An implant may include a housing and a blade having a retracted position in the housing and an extended position where the blade extends outwardly from the housing. The implant also includes a blade actuating component, the blade actuating component comprising a driven shaft portion. The blade actuating component is configured to move the blade between the retracted position and the extended position. The housing may include a chamber portion receiving a portion of the driven shaft portion of the blade actuating component. The driven shaft portion may include an opening and a blocking pin received within the opening. In a first position, the blocking pin limits insertion of the blade actuating component. In a second position, the blade actuating component is unrestricted by the blocking pin.

Implants include fixation features which slidingly receive fixation elements. The fixation features may be negative or positive features, such as undercut channels or posts. Examples include unicompartmental tibial trays having a ridge protruding from the bone-facing side, an undercut channel formed within the ridge. Instruments are disclosed for preparing a ridge-receiving feature in bone.

PATELLAR IMPLANT

A patellar implant includes a body and at least one oblique anchoring pin. The body includes a bone-facing surface that is substantially planar and has a lateral end and a medial end. The body also includes an articulating surface opposite the bone-facing surface. The at least one oblique anchoring pin extends from the bone-facing surface at an acute angle toward the lateral end of the bone-facing surface. The at least one oblique anchoring pin includes a first end attached to the bone-facing surface and a second end spaced from the first end. A longitudinal axis extends from the first end to the second end. The longitudinal axis defines the acute angle with respect to the bone-facing surface. The at least one oblique anchoring pin extends into a surgically-prepared patella when the patellar implant is such that the surgically-prepared patella abuts the bone-facing surface.
