BONE CAGE INCLUDING OFFSET SETS OF PROTRUSIONS WITHIN A BONE INGROWTH CAVITY AND RELATED METHODS
A bone cage may include first and second spaced apart frames defining a bone ingrowth cavity therebetween, a plurality of first protrusions each having a proximal end coupled to the first frame and a distal end extending into the cavity toward the second frame but not contacting the second frame, and a plurality of second protrusions each having a proximal end coupled to the second frame and a distal end extending into the cavity toward the first frame but not contacting the first frame. Furthermore, the distal ends of the first protrusions may be laterally offset from the distal ends of the second protrusions.
INTERNAL PEDICLE INSULATOR
A pedicle insulator implant is designed to protect the nerves and surrounding tissue from injury by pedicle screws or other surgical devices and instruments. The implant is configured to shield a fixture, reduce nerve root irritation, and diminish loosening of the fixture, when the fixture is implanted into the void of a target site. The implant includes features for stabilizing and securing the implant within the void at the target site. For example, in one embodiment, the implant includes one or more ridges and one or more teeth sections that stabilize the implant against rotational and extractive forces that could disturb the implant.
SPINAL IMPLANT WITH SURFACE PROJECTIONS
An interbody spacer for use in spinal procedures. The interbody spacer has one or more surfaces with a unique surface pattern. The interbody spacer is preferably designed for use as an intervertebral spacer in spinal fusion surgery, where portions of an affected disc are removed from between two adjacent vertebrae and replaced with an interbody spacer that provides segmental stability, may correct a deformity, and allows for bone to grow between the two vertebrae to bridge the gap created by disk removal. The interbody spacer has one or more unique surfaces designed to aid in bone growth and attachment. The unique surface comprises one or more surface projections, referred to generally as surface projection pattern or matrix, which can be arranged to form unique patterns and structures.
METHOD, SYSTEM, AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING INTERBODY IMPLANTS
Embodiments of forming custom interbody implants that may be used to stabilize region(s) formed between mammalian bony segments, including systems and methods to produce a custom interbody element that may be used to stabilize or couple region(s) formed between two or more mammalian bony segments. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Method and Devices for Intracorporeal Bonding of Implants with Thermal Energy
A system for dynamically controlling a weld profile includes a generator, and end effector, a sensor, and a computer. The generator is configured to supply energy based on the weld profile. The end effector operatively connected to the generator and configured to apply vibratory energy and pressure to an object. The sensor configured to provide an output with respect to the object. The computer configured to monitor the output and change the weld profile of the generator based on the output.
UNICOMPARTMENTAL KNEE ARTHROPLASTY
Implants include fixation features which slidingly receive fixation elements. The fixation features may be negative or positive features, such as undercut channels or posts. Examples include unicompartmental tibial trays having a ridge protruding from the bone-facing side, an undercut channel formed within the ridge. Instruments are disclosed for preparing a ridge-receiving feature in bone. Implants and fixation elements are configured for implantation without penetrating a cortical wall of a bone. Instruments and surgical methods are disclosed.
Spinal implant and method for fabricating the same
A spinal implant is provided that includes a body extending in direction at least substantially along a body axis, between a first end portion and a second end portion. The spinal implant also includes a first bearing surface disposed relative to the first end portion, and defining a first relief pattern that is configured to inhibit movement of the spinal implant relative to one or more vertebrae in at least substantially all directions. A method for manufacturing the spinal implant involves use of selective laser sintering.
Spinal fusion implant
An implant may include a housing and a blade having a retracted position in the housing and an extended position where the blade extends outwardly from the housing. The implant also includes a blade actuating component, the blade actuating component comprising a driven shaft portion. The blade actuating component is configured to move the blade between the retracted position and the extended position. The housing may include a chamber portion receiving a portion of the driven shaft portion of the blade actuating component. The driven shaft portion may include an opening and a blocking pin received within the opening. In a first position, the blocking pin limits insertion of the blade actuating component. In a second position, the blade actuating component is unrestricted by the blocking pin.
