Trial neck and method
A trial neck for hip surgery and a method of attaching a trial neck to a femoral canal preparation instrument. The trial neck includes a body portion including a bore for receiving a proximal end of a femoral canal preparation instrument. The trial neck also includes an elongate neck extending from the body portion. The trial neck further includes a locking mechanism comprising a lever. The lever has a first end integral with the body portion. The lever also has a second end. The lever further has an engagement surface located intermediate the first end and the second end. The second end of the lever is actuable to urge the engagement surface against the proximal end of the femoral canal preparation instrument to secure the proximal end of the femoral canal preparation instrument within the bore.

An orthopedic system for delivery of a therapeutic agent to a bone includes an elongate stem adapted to be inserted into an intramedullary canal, an inlet configured to receive the therapeutic agent, and one or more outlets configured to deliver the therapeutic agent to the bone. The elongate stem may comprise one or more protrusions to engage the bone, and one or more channels extending longitudinally therein, fluidly coupled to the inlet. The therapeutic agent flows from the inlet through the one or more channels and exits into the intramedullary canal through the one or more outlets. The system may be configured to allow one or more dimensions of the system to be adjusted to accommodate the anatomy of a patient.
ARTIFICIAL HIP JOINT STEM AND STEM PROVIDING METHOD
An artificial hip joint stem is used to replace the damaged femoral head or acetabulum and includes a stem body having a head fixing part, which fixes a head, and an operating space horizontally opened at the upper side thereof. A head insertion hole connects to the operating space. A screw part is inserted into the head insertion hole. An operation converting part is inserted into the operating space to vertically move by the screw part when the operation converting part is connected to the screw part. A fixing bracket is inserted into the operating space such that the screw part is fixed to rotate without changing the depth thereof. A variable operating part is inserted into a supporting surface of the stem body to adjust a horizontal width by means of the operation converting part. A movable pin fixes the variable operating part to the operation converting part.
MODULAR TRIAL IMPLANT SYSTEM
A modular trial implant system includes a first trial implant part that releasably connects to a second trial implant part and/or an implant part to form a first trial joint implant part. The first trial implant part has a cone receptacle for accommodating a connecting cone of the second trial implant part or the implant part. The first trial implant part includes first latching elements and second latching elements that are axially offset in the cone receptacle for latchingly engaging behind connecting cones of second trial implant parts or implant parts. The first trial implant part has a receiving sleeve defining the cone receptacle. The receiving sleeve has a wall that surrounds the implant longitudinal axis and delimits the cone receptacle. The wall is indentation-free and/or perforation-free in a first region between the first latching elements and in a second region between the second latching elements.

Femoral stem and post system for hip prosthesis
A femoral stem for use in hip replacement surgery, specifically hip replacement surgery in dogs and similar animals but also inclusive to implants used in humans. More particularly, the invention is directed to a femoral stem that includes a lateral bolt or post that protrudes through the cortex or wall of bone opposite the neck of the femoral stem. The lateral bolt or post reduces the occurrence of subsidence in implanted femoral stems. The lateral bolt or post provides an anchor point on the cortex or wall of bone as opposed to relying solely on the compression of the femoral stem against the wall of the bony canal of the femur being implanted.

Hip implant systems described herein can include a distal stem, a proximal body, and a fastener. In some embodiments, the distal stem can include a cavity configured to receive the fastener when a portion of the distal stem is positioned within the proximal body. In some embodiments, the distal stem can include a threaded exterior surface configured to mate with a fastener when a portion of the distal stem is positioned within the proximal body. In some embodiments, a distal end of the distal stem can include an anterior relief configured to conform to interior surface of a femoral canal of a patient.

Modular implant for combination hip replacement with intramedullary rod
This invention provides a device and treatment method for replacing the hip (in either a hemiarthroplasty or total hip arthroplasty), which protects the remainder of the femur from fracture. Such a device is highly applicable to the treatment of patients with current or impending fractures of the femur, particularly those with metastatic bone cancer, where there is concern for current or future metastatic disease of the femoral neck or head, which would necessitate hip replacement. The implant consists of a two-piece arrangement with a separate femoral component and a securing, intermedullary rod/nail that is received in a locking arrangement by a longitudinal fenestration of the femoral component.
