Hand support and method for using the same

A hand support including a base component arranged for securing to at least a portion of a hand, an anchor element adjustably connected to the base component and arranged for grasping a thumb, and a counterforce device connecting to the base component and the anchor element. The counterforce device arranged to generate a counterforce in combination with or against the base component and anchor element. The hand support may be arranged to provide traction for an extended period to remedy complications of the hand and associated joints.

The wrist guard of the present disclosure can be used for left and right hands, and the tightness can be adjusted by the knob, which is convenient and comfortable to wear.

The brace also includes a heat-moldable insert positioned within the body. The heat-moldable insert is configured so as to be positioned over a CMC joint of the thumb.

The belt includes an arm support connector to which the arm support is removably and fixedly connected so that the arm support projects upwardly from the belt. The arm support is positionable to extend different heights above the belt. The sling is connectable to the arm support so that the arm of the person is abducted.
