Absorbent articles comprising stretch laminates

An absorbent article includes a chassis comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and at least one elastically elongatable panel joined to the chassis. The elastically elongatable panel includes a stretch laminate that has at least one cover layer, an elastomeric film attached to the cover layer, the elastomeric film having two surfaces and a skin on at least one of the surfaces, and an adhesive disposed between the skin and the cover layer. The stretch laminate has at least one anchoring zone and at least one stretch zone, the skin that is located in the stretch zone has a plurality of wrinkles that are substantially perpendicular to a stretch direction of the stretch laminate, and the wrinkles have furrows, and at least some of the adhesive is disposed in at least some of the furrows.

LEG AND FLAP ELASTIC COMPOSITE FOR AN ABSORBENT ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME

An absorbent article having a front waist region, a back waist region, and a crotch region extending between and interconnecting the front and back waist regions. The article comprises an outer cover, a body-side liner, an absorbent assembly between the outer cover and the body-side liner, and leg and flap elastic composites including a containment flap portion and a gasket portion. Each of the composites are attached to the liner such that one of the composites is disposed adjacent one side edge of the liner and the other composite is disposed adjacent the other side edge of the liner, each of the composites extend longitudinally from the front waist region to the back waist region, and each of the composites have a deadened portion in the front waist region or the back waist region. The article further includes a waist elastic member extending longitudinally between the deadened portions.

Leg and flap elastic composite for an absorbent article and method of manufacturing same

A method of manufacturing a liner/composite web for use in an absorbent article includes joining a leg elastic member to a web moving in a machine direction and joining a flap elastic member to the web. The flap elastic member is spaced from the leg elastic member. The web is folded to form a leg and flap elastics composite including an outer side edge. The web is joined to a substrate to form the liner/composite web. The liner/composite web is joined to a web of material such that the outer side edge of the leg and flap elastics composite is coterminous with one of a pair of laterally opposing side edges of the web of material.

A wearing article improved so that an absorbent structure is not apt to be spaced away from the wearer's skin but stuffiness in the wearing article and/or eruption of the wearer's skin can be reliably prevented, which wearing article is a diaper that includes a front waist panel, a rear waist panel and a crotch panel. In the front and rear waist panels, elastics are respectively attached to front and rear waist sheets. The crotch panel includes an absorbent structure containing liquid-absorbent core material and, outboard of the absorbent structure as viewed in a longitudinal direction, front and rear end flaps are formed respectively. The crotch panel includes a first region which includes a front end of the absorbent structure and the front end flap and overlaps with the front waist panel and a second region which includes a front end of the absorbent structure and the rear end flap and overlaps with the rear waist panel. The first and second regions extend in the longitudinal direction and are joined to respective skin-facing surfaces of the front and rear waist panels by means of first and second joining zones each including a plurality of sub-zones spaced apart from one another in a transverse direction.

A disposable absorbent article of a brief or pull-up type incorporates a breathable laminate material composed of two layers. The laminate is an elastic material and may include non-elastic portions created by deactivating the material. The laminate material may be made breathable by the ultrasonic bonding process used to create the laminate. A third layer is adhered or bonded to the laminate and with leg elastics positioned between the laminate that the third layer. The absorbent article includes an absorbent assembly that overlaps with the non-elastic portions of the laminate.
