A disposable absorbent article may include a chassis that includes a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet; and a leg gasketing system. The leg gasketing system may include an inner cuff and an outer cuff; the inner cuff may include an inner cuff folded edge and an inner cuff material edge and the outer cuff may include an outer cuff folded edge and an outer cuff material edge such that the web of material is folded laterally inward to form the outer cuff folded edge and folded laterally outward to form the inner cuff folded edge. Absorbent articles having curved elasticized laminates and apparatuses and methods for forming such articles are disclosed. In one embodiment a method of forming an article may comprise moving absorbent assemblies and elasticized laminates in the machine direction. The method may further comprise oscillating the elasticized laminates in the cross-machine direction to impart a curvature, bonding the elasticized laminates to the absorbent assemblies while maintaining the imparted curvature such that at least a portion of the elasticized laminates are disposed outboard of longitudinal side edges of the absorbent assemblies, and finally separating the absorbent assemblies into individual absorbent articles, where the elasticized laminates extend in a curving manner throughout the absorbent articles.

The absorbent article is an absorbent article covering a crotch portion of a wearer from an abdominal side to a back side with a sheet-like main body, the absorbent article including: the main body including an abdominal side edge, a back side edge, pair of crotch side edges extending between the abdominal side edge and the back side edge, and an absorbent region in which an absorbent is disposed; a pair of restraint portions provided on the main body along the pair of crotch side edges, and configured to suppress leakage of a target object from the absorbent region; and a bonding member in a strip shape provided to the main body on a side of at least one of the abdominal side edge and the back side edge, wherein the bonding member is provided extending between the pair of restraint portions, and both ends of the bonding member are disposed between the restraint portions and the main body at one end side of the restraint portion in a longitudinal direction.

A disposable absorbent article with a water-permeable covering sheet, a water-impermeable center sheet, and an absorbent core disposed therebetween is disclosed herein. The absorbent article includes a pair of side flaps comprising a first side flap and an opposing second side flap; each of the first and second side flaps being made from a distinct layer of material that is not an extension of the water-permeable covering sheet or the water-impermeable center sheet. The distinct layer of material is doubled over to form a first layer comprising a first layer proximal edge, and a second layer comprising a second layer proximal edge, wherein the first layer and the second layer enclose an elastic strand, and wherein the first layer is attached to the second layer.

An absorbent article (10, 110, 210) can include a waist containment member (54) with a first longitudinal side edge (72), a second longitudinal side edge (74), a proximal portion (76), and a distal portion (78). A fold (79a) can separate the proximal portion (76) from the distal portion (78). The proximal portion (76) can be coupled to the chassis (11) and the distal portion (78) can be configured to freely move with respect to the chassis (11) when the absorbent article (10, 110, 210) is in a relaxed configuration to provide a containment pocket (82). The absorbent article (10, 110, 210) can include a pair of containment flaps (50, 52). The containment flaps (50, 52) can each include a base portion (64) and a projection portion (66).

The above problem is solved by an underpants-type disposable diaper in which a barrier sheet extends to a back side of a position on a front side of a back end of an absorber from the position and extends outward in a width direction from positions of both side edges of the absorber in the width direction is included, the barrier sheet has a free part not bonded to a member on a back surface side and a fixed part bonded to the member on the back surface side, a pocket-shaped dorsal side barrier having an inlet opening to a crotch side is formed by the free part of the barrier sheet, and a torsion hardness of a predetermined part including a back end portion of the absorber is 0.18 to 0.32 N.Math.cm/cm.
