Assembly for a drug delivery device and drug delivery device
An assembly for a drug delivery device comprises a housing, a dose member which is displaceable in a proximal direction with respect to the housing for setting of a dose of a drug, a clutch member which is displaced in the proximal direction with respect to the housing when setting the dose, and a stop member configured to define a clutch stop position. The clutch member and the dose member are configured to mechanically cooperate with one another when the clutch member is in the clutch stop position, thereby preventing further displacement of the dose member in the proximal direction with respect to the housing during setting of the dose.
Drug delivery device with dose reset mechanism
Drug delivery device adapted to expel a set dose, comprising an expelling mechanism with a drive spring, a dose setting mechanism with first and second dose setting ratchet parts, a bias spring as well as control means. The control means is adapted to rotate the second ratchet part in a first direction to thereby set a dose when rotating the dose setting member in the first direction, and move the ratchet parts axially out of engagement with each other when the dose setting member is rotated in the opposite direction. When the first and second ratchet parts have been axially disengaged, the drive spring will rotate the second ratchet part in the second direction to thereby reduce the set dose, the bias spring moving the ratchet parts axially into engagement with each other again, this resulting in the set dose being reduced corresponding to one tooth of the ratchet mechanism.
Sensor for use with a drug delivery device
An optical decoding system including an optical sensor integral with or attachable to a housing of a drug delivery device and configured to be directed at first and second rotatable components of a dose setting and dispensing mechanism of the drug delivery device and a processor configured to: (i) cause the optical sensor to capture images of the first and second rotatable components at least at the beginning and end of a medicament dose dispensing process; (ii) determine a rotational position of both the first and second rotatable components in each of the captured images; and (iii) determine from the rotational positions of the first and second rotatable components an amount of medicament delivered by the dose setting and dispensing mechanism of the drug delivery device.
Supplemental device for attachment to an injection device
A supplemental device for attachment to an injection device, the supplemental device having a housing containing at least two electromechanical switches each having an open state and a closed state and a protrusion associated with each switch configured to protrude from the housing so as to contact a rotatable surface of the injection device while the supplemental device is attached to the injection device; and a processor arrangement configured to detect a change in the state of each of the switches; and to determine a direction of rotation of the rotatable surface of the injection device from the detected state changes.
UNIVERSAL CONNECTION DEVICE FOR PEN INJECTORS
A universal add-on for an injection pen is provided. A static portion (110) has opposing gripping members to grip a body (112) of the injection pen. A moving portion (106) has opposing gripping members to grip an actuator (114) of the injection pen. Displacement measurement devices (102) measure relative linear and rotational movement of the actuator relative to the injection pen body (112). Doses are determined and recorded based on relative movement of the static portion (110) and moving portion (106), and the dose data is transmitted wirelessly to a mobile device. The device is easily installed on injection pens by pressing opposing buttons to relieve gripping pressure imparted by the gripping members.
Assembly for a medication delivery device and medication delivery device
An assembly (47) for a medication delivery device (1) has a body (2), a dose setting part (8) configured to be operated by a user for selecting a size of a dose, a piston rod (13) configured to be moved axially without rotating for dispensing a medication, and a drive member (12) being directly coupled to the piston rod (13) for driving the piston rod (13) in a dose dispensing operation, wherein the drive member (12) moves in a proximal direction in a dose setting operation. The medication delivery device (1) into which the assembly is incorporated may be a single-shot, variable-dose injection device, e.g., a syringe.
Conserving power in an injection device
A drug injection device comprising: a cartridge configured to hold a volume of a drug; one or more processors configured to operate in at least an enabled state and a sleep state, wherein the one or more processors are configured to control an operation of the drug injection device while the one or more processors are in the enabled state; a member disposed in the cartridge, the member including at least two conductive surfaces electrically connected to the one or more processors; and a drive mechanism including a conductive element spaced from the at least two conductive surfaces, wherein the one or more processors are configured to enter the enabled state from the sleep state when the conductive element makes electrical contact with the at least two conductive surfaces.
Medication delivery device with mechanical locking system
A medication delivery device having a lock element. The device is connectable to an electrical plug of a conduit. The device includes an external housing with an opening that ports to a plug receiving hollow within an interior volume. An electrical circuit connected to at least one of a rechargeable battery and a memory controller includes a connection element within the plug receiving hollow. The lock element travels within the plug receiving hollow when a dose delivery assembly of the device operates for forcing medication from the device. The lock element is sized and positioned to have its travel halted by abutment with the plug, when the plug is within the plug receiving hollow and electrically interfacing with the connection element, to thereby halt the dose delivery assembly from further operating for forcing medication from the device.
DOSE SETTING SENSOR ASSEMBLY WITH ALGORITHMIC AUTO CALIBRATION
Drug delivery system comprising a dose setting member adapted to incrementally rotate in a first direction to set a dose, and incrementally rotate in an opposed second direction to reduce a set dose, the dose setting member having a rotational slack in each incremental rotational position. The system further comprises a rotary sensor adapted to detect the amount of rotation of the dose setting member during dose setting. Processor means is adapted to detect a first or second dose setting pattern when the final dose was set by rotating the setting member in the first respectively the second direction. When a first / second dose setting pattern is detected the detected amount of rotation is used to calculate a corrected amount of rotation using a first/ second algorithm compensating for a slack-induced error generated corresponding to the first/ second dose setting pattern.
