Autoinjector
09956344 · 2018-05-01 · ·

An autoinjector including: a housing, in which can be mounted a syringe (28) having a plunger, a barrel and needle (19) at one end thereof through which medicament can be delivered to an injection site,a syringe support means (30) capable of causing said syringe to move along an axial path with respect to said housing; biasing means capable of biasing said syringe support means so that said needle is normally inside said housing; and engagement means (180) selectively moveable by a user from a first position in which rearward movement of the syringe along said axial path is substantially prevented when said syringe is in an extended position where at least part of said needle is out of the housing, to a second position in which rearward movement of the syringe along said axial path relative to said housing is possible and said biasing means causes said needle to retract inside said housing; wherein said housing includes an outer housing (16) and said autoinjector further comprises a sleeve (18) intermediate the syringe support means and said outer housing that is capable of moving the engagement means between said first and second positions by rotating said sleeve about a longitudinal axis of said autoinjector between a first rotational position and a second rotational position; and wherein the sleeve is moveable between said first and second rotational positions by moving said outer housing with respect to the sleeve in a substantially axial direction.

Medication delivery device

A medication delivery device is provided which is switchable between an operational state and a resetting state and which comprises a housing having a proximal end and a distal end, a piston rod being moveable in a distal direction with respect to the housing for medication delivery, a conversion element adapted to at least partially convert a rotational movement of the piston rod into an axial movement of the piston rod, coupling means prevented from rotational movement with respect to the housing and adapted to engage with the conversion element in the operational state, a drive assembly comprising at least two drive assembly members and adapted for moving the piston rod in the distal direction, and a resilient member adapted to provide a force on the drive assembly for engagement of the drive assembly members. In the operational state of the device the coupling means is engaged with the conversion element, the conversion element thereby being prevented from rotation with respect to the housing. In the resetting state of the device the coupling means is disengaged from the conversion element under force of the resilient member, the conversion element thereby being allowed to rotate with respect to the housing and thereby allowing a resetting of the device.

INJECTION DEVICE AND DETECTOR ARRANGEMENT

The disclosure relates to an injection device for setting and injecting pre-set or user-selectable doses of a medicament, the injection device comprising an elongated housing defining a longitudinal direction and configured to accommodate a cartridge containing the medicament, and a detector arrangement operable to detect a relative movement between a first element and a second element. The first element is subject to a first movement relative to the second element along a first longitudinal direction for setting of a dose, the first element is subject to a second movement relative to the second element along a second longitudinal direction for dispensing of the dose, one of the first movement and the second movement is a helical movement, and the other one of the first movement and the second movement is a sliding movement in the longitudinal direction. The second element comprises at least one reference element fixed to the second element.

Selectable single dose auto-injector and methods of making and using same

An auto-injector device for administering a liquid pharmaceutical composition, in which an end-user can select between doses that the device is capable of delivering. The end-user choices that translate into the selected doses can be based on end-user perceived severity of symptoms, end-user weight and other such factors. In some embodiments the auto-injector is configured to administer the one chosen dose only. In other embodiments, the auto-injector can deliver second and subsequent doses up to full dose of the pharmaceutical composition disposed in the injector. The auto-injector can provide visual, audio, and tactile feedback, alone or in combination, to the user to indicate the dose selected, instructions for use, and when the dose has been administered.
