Drive mechanism for a medication delivery device and medication delivery device

A drive mechanism for a medication delivery device is presented having a housing, a rotation member that rotates in a first direction with respect to the housing during setting of a dose of a medication and rotates in a second direction with respect to the housing during delivery of the dose, the second direction being opposite to the first direction. The device also has a piston rod that is displaced in a distal direction with respect to the housing for delivering the dose, a drive member which follows rotational movement of the rotation member in the second direction during delivery of the dose, and a stop member which prevents rotational movement of the drive member with respect to the housing in the first direction during setting of the dose.

A method of treatment may include providing a syringe having medicinal fluid therein for administering to a patient and coupling an attachment portion of an extrusion accessory having a handle and a pawl to a flange portion of the syringe. The pawl may have first and second ends, and be hingedly and rotatably coupled relative to the handle at a first position at the first end and at a second position between the first and second ends. The method may further include applying a force to translate the handle in a direction substantially perpendicular relative to a longitudinal axis of the syringe to cause axial movement of the second end of the pawl. The second end of the pawl may be engaged with a plunger of the syringe and axial movement of the second end of the pawl may drive the plunger forward to extrude the medicinal fluid from the syringe.

Injection device with torsion spring and rotatable display

The present invention relates to an injection device comprising a torsion spring operatively connected to a dose setting member being adapted to set a dose to be ejected from the injection device. A rotatably mounted display member adapted to display the dose to be ejected in accordance with a setting of the dose setting member is also provided. The rotatably mounted display member is adapted to be rotated over an angle corresponding to at least one revolution of the display member. The display member may be implemented as a dose indicator barrel having numerals arranged along a helical path on an outer surface thereof, or alternatively, as a counting device having two or more display wheels having numerals arranged on an outer surface thereof.

PLUNGER SUB-ASSEMBLY FOR A PREFILLED MEDICAMENT INJECTOR, A PREFILLED MEDICAMENT INJECTOR AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING A PREFILLED MEDICAL INJECTOR

A plunger sub-assembly (40, 60, 70; 80) for a pre-filled medicament injector for expelling a dose of a medicament, comprising: a) a container (60) holding a medicament, the container (60) comprising a body (61) with a proximally facing rim surface (64), and a distally slideable piston (63); b) a plunger (40); and c) a tolerance compensating element (70; 80) configured to cooperate with the plunger (40) and to cooperate with either the proximally facing rim surface (64) or the piston (63), the tolerance compensating element (70; 80) being rotatable relative to the plunger (40) to adjust the piston (63) end of dose position. The plunger sub-assembly (40, 60, 70; 8) is formed so that end of dose state occurs by the plunger (40) cooperating with the proximally facing rim surface (64). Pre-filled medicament injectors and methods of assembling a pre-filled medicament injector are further described.

Administration instrument for medical use

An administration instrument includes an injection button which can be pressed at an angle that is not parallel to a needle with respect to a direction in which the needle is inserted into skin. As a result, it is possible to prevent a force of pressing the injection button from being transmitted in the direction in which the needle is inserted into the skin deeper than initial insertion of the needle, thereby achieving an administration under a stable state.

DOSE SETTING DEVICE FOR AN INJECTION DEVICE

A dosing device for an injection device, the dosing device including an actuating element for adjusting and/or dispensing a dose from the injection device, a thrust element for generating a forward movement for discharging a dose and a coupling to which the actuating element and the thrust element are coupled such that a rotational movement of the actuating element is transmitted directly to the thrust element and an axial movement of the actuating element is different than an axial movement of the thrust element.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE WITH ZERO POSITION ADJUSTMENT FEATURE

A method of manufacturing a pen drug delivery device comprising the steps of (i) providing a drug delivery device comprising a dose indicator member adapted to move relative to a housing during dose setting and dose expelling corresponding to an axis of rotation, the indicator member having an initial position corresponding to no dose amount being set, (ii) arranging the indicator member in the initial rotational position, and (iii) providing on the housing and on the indicator member respectively a pair of zero markers having a predetermined rotational offset. By this arrangement the issue of finding the correct initial (zero) rotational position of the indicator member is addressed by providing corresponding and rotationally paired zero markings on the pen housing and the indicator member after the pen device has been assembled, this allowing the true initial position to be detected by image capture and subsequent image analysis.

An assembly for a drug delivery device comprises a housing, a dose member which is displaceable in a proximal direction with respect to the housing for setting of a dose of a drug, a clutch member which is displaced in the proximal direction with respect to the housing when setting the dose, and a stop member configured to define a clutch stop position. The clutch member and the dose member are configured to mechanically cooperate with one another when the clutch member is in the clutch stop position, thereby preventing further displacement of the dose member in the proximal direction with respect to the housing during setting of the dose.
