A system for medication delivery comprises a Package containing a medication and a Dosing mechanism for delivering a dose of a drug, formulated as multiparticulate, microspheres, powder or liquid. The Package comprises a bottle, a bottle insert that covers the bottle opening and includes a dispense nozzle. The dispense nozzle is sealed using a valve that opens when the Dosing device is engaged with the bottle. A closure covers the bottle insert and closes the bottle. The Dosing device, similar to an oral syringe, comprises a barrel with a valve at its distal end, a plunger and a dose control clip for attachment to the plunger. After the dosing device is connected to the bottle valve, withdrawal of the plunger causes the dosing device to receive a dose of drug, the user pushes the plunger which pushes the MP drug through the valve and into a patient's mouth.

An injector apparatus is disclosed for use with a container of therapeutic material to deliver a metered dose of therapeutic material therefrom. The apparatus includes a first body portion arranged to be fixed relative to the container and defining a first conduit portion for the delivery of the therapeutic material from the container and a second body slidably connected to the first body and defining a second conduit portion, in fluid communication with the first conduit portion. Relative sliding motion between the first body and second body results in the displacement of one of the conduit portions into the other conduit portion such that the combined volume of the conduit may be decreased.

DOSE GUIDES FOR INJECTION SYRINGE

The present embodiments provide for simple devices that guide the loading and dispensing of accurate small doses of fluid from standard injection syringes.

Injection pen with dial back and last dose control

A medication injection pen comprises a dose set knob rotatable with respect to a housing to set a desired injection dose. The dose set knob comprises at least one internal thread. A leadscrew includes a thread element for advancing in a first direction via a corresponding thread engagement. A driver is rotationally fixed to the leadscrew and is rotatable in a first direction to rotate and advance the leadscrew in the first direction. The setback member is rotationally fixed to the driver. The dose stop member is rotationally coupled to the setback member and is axially movable relative to the dose set knob when the dose set knob is rotated relative to the setback member. Axial movement of the dose stop member limits the user from setting a dose that is greater than an injectable volume of medication remaining in a cartridge.

A device for delivery of a medicament from a container (10) having an outlet (16) at a distal end of the container (10) and a stopper (22) for containing the medicament in the container (10) is disclosed. The device comprises a housing (110, 140), a drive element (300) arranged to move in the distal direction to cooperate with the container (10), a drive mechanism comprising a trigger component (200), the drive mechanism being arranged to hold the drive element (300) in a starting position and to move the drive element (300) in the distal direction from the starting position upon displacement of the trigger component (200) from a working position to a firing position, an interlock component (250) received in the housing (110, 140) and arranged for movement with respect to the housing (110, 140) from a first position to a second position, and at least one flexible locking member (214) arranged to cooperate with a stop face (160) associated with the housing (110, 140) to prevent displacement of the trigger component (200) to the firing position when the interlock component (250) is in the first position. Movement of the interlock component (250) towards the second position causes bending of the flexible locking member (214) away from the stop face (160) to allow displacement of the trigger component (200) to the firing position.

SELECTABLE SINGLE DOSE AUTO-INJECTOR AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME

An auto-injector device for administering a liquid pharmaceutical composition, in which an end-user can select between doses that the device is capable of delivering. The end-user choices that translate into the selected doses can be based on end-user perceived severity of symptoms, end-user weight and other such factors. In some embodiments the auto-injector is configured to administer the one chosen dose only. In other embodiments, the auto-injector can deliver second and subsequent doses up to full dose of the pharmaceutical composition disposed in the injector. The auto-injector can provide visual, audio, and tactile feedback, alone or in combination, to the user to indicate the dose selected, instructions for use, and when the dose has been administered.

A medical injector is provided herein having a body; a reservoir containing first and second mixable components; a stopper; a plunger disposed in the body; a spring disposed to advance the plunger; a first releasable retainer for releasably retaining the plunger in a first state against force of the spring; a first trigger for causing the first releasable retainer to release the plunger; a second releasable retainer for releasably retaining the plunger in a second state against force of the spring; and, a second trigger for causing the second releasable retainer to release the plunger. The spring causes the plunger to advance so that the stopper traverses at least a predetermined extent of advancement thereby causing mixing of the first and second mixable components. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a medical injector is provided which allows for autoreconstitution with subsequent dose setting and autoplunger activation being activated by separate triggers.

The device includes, a housing for housing a container, a plunger substantially housed within the housing and which is movable within the housing, a force applicator for applying a force to the plunger, a trigger coupled to the force applicator for releasing the force applicator to fire the device, a boot, a dose selector for allowing a user to select a dose of medicament, and a first mechanical interlock arranged such that the force applicator cannot be released until the dose selector has been operated to select the dose of medicament, and a second mechanical interlock arranged such that the dose selector cannot be operated to select the dose of medicament prior to removal of the boot.

A drive mechanism for a medication delivery device is presented having a housing, a rotation member that rotates in a first direction with respect to the housing during setting of a dose of a medication and rotates in a second direction with respect to the housing during delivery of the dose, the second direction being opposite to the first direction. The device also has a piston rod that is displaced in a distal direction with respect to the housing for delivering the dose, a drive member which follows rotational movement of the rotation member in the second direction during delivery of the dose, and a stop member which prevents rotational movement of the drive member with respect to the housing in the first direction during setting of the dose.
