DOSING SYRINGE AND METHODS OF USING SAME
A dosing syringe includes a barrel extending longitudinally between a proximal end and a distal end, the barrel having a plurality of sections represented by colored indicators, each of the plurality of sections corresponding to a medically-relevant dose, a plunger translatable within the barrel, the plunger including a plurality of segments represented by colored markings that correspond to the colored indicators of the plurality of sections, the plurality of segments further including a plurality of notches, each of the plurality of notches corresponding to one of the plurality of segments, and a tab mateable with one of the plurality of notches and configured to limit travel of the plunger within the barrel.
Self-administered injection device and method
An injection device kit for the self-administration of an injection of solution that includes a body portion configured for engagement with a cartridge containing the solution and an injection needle where the body portion includes an injection component having an actuation mechanism for inserting the injection needle of the cartridge and for injecting the solution in the cartridge and a safety mechanism on the body portion and configured to prevent injection unless released.
Drive Mechanisms Suitable for Use in Drug Delivery Devices
A drive mechanism suitable for use in drug delivery devices is disclosed. The drive mechanism may be used with injector-type drug delivery devices, such as those permitting a user to set the delivery dose. The drive mechanism may include a housing, a dose dial sleeve, and a drive sleeve. A clutch is configured to permit rotation of the drive sleeve and the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are coupled through the clutch. Conversely, when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are in a de-coupled state, rotation of the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing is permitted and rotation of the drive sleeve with respect to the housing is prevented. In the de-coupled state, axial movement of the drive sleeve transfers force in a longitudinal direction for actuation of a drug delivery device.
RETAINING ELEMENT TO PREVENT BREAK LOOSE CONTAMINATION FOR PARTIALLY PRE-FILLED SYRINGES
Syringe assemblies are provided including a partially pre-filled syringe barrel and a plunger rod that incorporates one or more retention elements on the plunger rod that prevents solution from entering a non-sterile area of the syringe when the plunger rod is pulled back. Methods to manufacture a sterilized partially-filled pre-fill syringe assembly are also disclosed.
PLUNGER SUB-ASSEMBLY FOR A PREFILLED MEDICAMENT INJECTOR, A PREFILLED MEDICAMENT INJECTOR AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING A PREFILLED MEDICAL INJECTOR
A plunger sub-assembly (40, 60, 70; 80) for a pre-filled medicament injector for expelling a dose of a medicament, comprising: a) a container (60) holding a medicament, the container (60) comprising a body (61) with a proximally facing rim surface (64), and a distally slideable piston (63); b) a plunger (40); and c) a tolerance compensating element (70; 80) configured to cooperate with the plunger (40) and to cooperate with either the proximally facing rim surface (64) or the piston (63), the tolerance compensating element (70; 80) being rotatable relative to the plunger (40) to adjust the piston (63) end of dose position. The plunger sub-assembly (40, 60, 70; 8) is formed so that end of dose state occurs by the plunger (40) cooperating with the proximally facing rim surface (64). Pre-filled medicament injectors and methods of assembling a pre-filled medicament injector are further described.
Injection device with flexible dose selection
An injection device incorporating a dose setting mechanism is presented where the dose setting mechanism contains a dose selector having one or more dose stops corresponding to a finite set of predetermined fixed doses, where the set of finite predetermined fixed doses includes a lowest fixed dose and one or more higher fixed doses, and where at least one of the one or more higher fixed doses is equal to the lowest fixed dose plus a fractional amount of the lowest fixed dose. The dose setting mechanism can further include a floating spline that is rotationally engaged with a snap element such that the snap element can rotate relative to the floating spline during both dose setting and dose delivery.
Drug delivery device
Drug delivery device comprising a housing retaining a primary drug delivery assembly for the delivery of a primary medicament with a primary dose setting member configured to rotate in a helical movement to set a dose of the primary medicament and a secondary drug delivery assembly for the delivery of a secondary medicament. A dose dial is movable between a first position and a second position in axial direction and is rotationally constrained with respect to the housing when moved from the first position into the second position and is rotationally constrained to the primary dose setting member in the second position for setting a dose of the primary medicament. A secondary drive sleeve of the secondary drug delivery assembly serves for dispense of the secondary medicament. The dose dial and the secondary drive sleeve can be coupled for dose setting.
