Drive Mechanisms Suitable for Use in Drug Delivery Devices
A drive mechanism suitable for use in drug delivery devices is disclosed. The drive mechanism may be used with injector-type drug delivery devices, such as those permitting a user to set the delivery dose. The drive mechanism may include a housing, a dose dial sleeve, and a drive sleeve. A clutch is configured to permit rotation of the drive sleeve and the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are coupled through the clutch. Conversely, when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are in a de-coupled state, rotation of the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing is permitted and rotation of the drive sleeve with respect to the housing is prevented. In the de-coupled state, axial movement of the drive sleeve transfers force in a longitudinal direction for actuation of a drug delivery device.
Drug delivery device comprising a prism
The present disclosure relates to a drug delivery device comprising a dose setting member for setting user variable doses of a medicament and a display for indicating the dose set by the dose setting member. The display comprises a number wheel, which is rotationally coupled to the dose setting member and is provided with a series of markings on its outer circumference, and at least one prism deviating the image of the markings of the number wheel, e.g. by 90°.
A TORSION SPRING DRIVEN INJECTION DEVICE
The invention relates to a torsion spring driven injection device for delivering set doses of a liquid drug wherein a torsion spring is strained by rotation of a rotatable dose setting structure and released by proximal movement of a piston rod driver. The dose setting structure is coupled to a drive element which is rotated during dose setting and which drive element is released during dosing to thereby rotate the piston rod driver. The piston rod driver is further coupled to the piston rod to generate a rotation and thus forward movement of the piston rod. The drive element and the piston rod driver are coupled to each other by a toothed engagement which is functional both during dose setting and during dose expelling.
ALTERNATIVE DEVICE FOR ADJUSTING A DOSAGE WITH A LIMITING MECHANISM FOR A DEVICE FOR ADMINISTERING A PRODUCT
Dosing device for an administration device with a limiting mechanism containing: a dosing sleeve with a first stop and a stop wheel with a second stop means adapted to continually and proportionally follow a movement of the dosing sleeve during dosing movements. During an ejection movement, there is no relative movement between dosing sleeve and stop wheel. The first stop and the second stop each describe a path curve by their movements such that the two path curves intersect in one point and the stops contact one another and tilt the stop wheel, thereby blocking the dosing movement of the dosing sleeve. The stop wheel comprises first and third sloped surfaces that may form first and second gear guidances with a clutch thereby returning the stop wheel to a non-tilted position during up or down dosing movements when the stops do not contact another.
Assembly to administer insulin from a cartridge
An assembly for the administration of a selected dosage of insulin or other medicaments from a cartridge by moving a plug guided in said cartridge, comprises an adapter assembly for adapting cartridges with different dimensions or contents. The adapter assembly comprises a first threaded element threaded with a thread lead and movable in a moving direction to move the plug, and a second threaded element threaded with a thread lead for setting a selected dosage, pivotably screwed to said first threaded element and limiting the movement of said first threaded element, and wherein said thread lead of said first element and said thread lead of said second threaded element are adapted to the dimensions and/or the contents of said cartridge.
Device and method for intraocular fluid injection
Devices and methods for intraocular fluid injection are disclosed. A device can include a surgical instrument for an ophthalmic procedure. The surgical instrument can include a handle. A fluid compartment can be coupled to the handle and configured to hold a substance. A tool can be coupled to the distal end of the handle and have a lumen configured to convey the substance into an intraocular site of a patient. A piston can be in the handle and configured to reciprocate along the longitudinal axis of the handle to draw the substance from the fluid compartment and eject the substance through the lumen of the tool. A push button can be on the lateral side of the housing and configured to engage the piston via a sloped surface to actuate a forward stroke of the piston towards the distal end of the handle.
Injection pen with dial back and last dose control
A medication injection pen comprises a dose set knob rotatable with respect to a housing to set a desired injection dose. The dose set knob comprises at least one internal thread. A leadscrew includes a thread element for advancing in a first direction via a corresponding thread engagement. A driver is rotationally fixed to the leadscrew and is rotatable in a first direction to rotate and advance the leadscrew in the first direction. The setback member is rotationally fixed to the driver. The dose stop member is rotationally coupled to the setback member and is axially movable relative to the dose set knob when the dose set knob is rotated relative to the setback member. Axial movement of the dose stop member limits the user from setting a dose that is greater than an injectable volume of medication remaining in a cartridge.

Single Dose Medicament Delivery Device
A medicament delivery device configured to provide a variable single dose of medicament is disclosed. The medicament delivery device includes a main body and a syringe arranged in the main body, wherein the syringe comprises a medicament. The medicament delivery device further includes a removable cap and a plunger rod operatively arranged to eject the medicament through a delivery member i.e. an injection needle attached to the syringe. Still further, the medicament delivery device includes a tubular member coupled to the plunger rod. The tubular member is configured to rotate during removing of the removable cap, and the rotation releases the plunger rod thereby allowing the plunger rod to travel a predetermined distance so as to prime the medicament delivery device.
Stopper
A stopper for use in a cartridge or syringe of a medical device .sub.[SL6]is configured to be disposed within a container closure system. The stopper comprises a shell comprising a closed end and an open end with sidewalls extending between the closed end and the open end along a longitudinal axis of the shell. The open end defines a cavity and the sidewalls define an exterior surface sized and shaped to fit inside the container closure system. An insert is configured to be inserted into the cavity, receive a force from a plunger rod, and distribute the force to the shell in order to advance the shell into the container closure system. The closed end of the shell in the cavity defining a convex surface configured to be contacted and deflected by the insert upon insertion into the cavity includes an elastic and/or plastic deformable material.
