09724479 · 2017-08-08 · ·

Various handheld medical dispensing configurations and methods including the following. Handheld medical dispensing system comprises a syringe, which has a plunger, releasably mounted to syringe actuation apparatus, the apparatus having an actuator configured such that it can move the plunger more than once to dispense a plurality of amounts of substance from the syringe. A method of dispensing fluid from a syringe comprises holding a medical substance delivery system including a syringe, which has a needle, and which is secured to syringe actuation apparatus configured to dispense predetermined amounts of the substance from the syringe, penetrating the needle at one patient site and using the apparatus to deliver a predetermined amount of the substance, and penetrating the needle at another patient site and using the apparatus to deliver a predetermined amount of the substance.

Anti-Rotation Mechanism for Telescopic Screw Assembly
20170266385 · 2017-09-21 ·

An injection assembly includes a housing with a barrel positioned within the housing. The barrel includes an axis extending from a proximal end to a distal end thereof and a chamber for storing medicine. An elongate anti-rotation shaft is rotationally fixed to the housing and has a non-circular cross-section. The injection assembly includes an inner screw having an inner screw opening to complementarily receive the anti-rotation shaft to prevent rotation of the inner screw with respect to the anti-rotation shaft but allow respective linear translation along the axis. An outer screw is positioned within, and rotatable with respect to, the housing and has an outer screw opening to threadably receive the inner screw, wherein rotation of the outer screw translates the inner screw along the axis and along the anti-rotation shaft. A plunger is coupled to the distal end of the inner screw and is moveable with respect to the chamber to push the medicine out of the chamber when the outer screw is rotated.

Actuating mechanism, method of operation and assembly for fluid displacement and pressurizing device

A fluid pressurizing and displacement device which is configured for both macro movement and micro movement of a plunger. In order to execute micro movement of the plunger, a user need only rotate the plunger; to execute macro movement of the plunger, a user need only push or pull the plunger. This simplicity in use is possible because a half-nut (or other suitable structure within the device) remains engaged with the plunger, except when the plunger is being pushed or pulled by its operator. All user motions are simple and intuitive.

Methods for manually injecting/aspirating fluids through small diameter catheters and needles and manual injection/aspiration systems including small diameter catheters and needles
11191931 · 2021-12-07 · ·

A system for increasing rates at which fluids may be manually forced through injection/aspiration elements, such as catheters and needles, includes the injection/aspiration elements, as well as a syringe including a pair of crossed handles, one associated with the barrel of the syringe, the other associated with the plunger of the syringe, to provide a mechanical advantage. The system may include and injection/aspiration element of small (e.g., 0.052 inch or smaller) inner diameter and small outer diameter (e.g., 5 French or less). Such systems enable the use of a single hand to hold and operate a syringe in a variety or procedures, including angiography, angioplasty, discography, glue/cement injection, and a variety of aspiration procedures (e.g., biopsy, sampling, media removal, etc.).

DOSE DETECTION WITH PIEZOELECTRIC SENSING FOR A MEDICATION DELIVERY DEVICE
20210369971 · 2021-12-02 ·

The present disclosure relates to a medication delivery device having a dose detection system and an associated control system configured to determine an amount of medication delivered from the medication delivery device based on the sensing of relative rotation within the medication delivery device. The relative rotation may occur between a dose setting member and an actuator and/or housing of the medication delivery device. The rotation sensing may involve piezoelectric sensing, more specifically repeatedly deforming a piezoelectric sensor with a mechanical force. The dose detection system may be a modular or integral component of the medication delivery device.

NEEDLELESS INJECTOR AND RELATED METHODS

A needleless injector having a drive end with an energy source for propelling a quantity of fluid out a distal opening of a barrel of an ampule, wherein the drive end is provided with a cam and a follower for resetting the spring to enable multiple injections and deliveries of a discrete quantities of fluids out the barrel. The drive end can further include a carrier having a stepped barrel for sequentially moving a different surface of a different step adjacent the plunger of the ampule upon each reset of the spring.

NEEDLE SENSOR ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF USE OF SAME
20220160971 · 2022-05-26 ·

The present invention is directed to a needle sensor assembly and a method of using same. The needle sensor assembly includes a needle sensor housed within the needle sensor assembly. The needle sensor assembly is configured to be attached to an injection device. When the needle sensor assembly is attached to the injection device, the needle sensor is configured to detect if a needle positioned for use in the injection device is misaligned, absent, or broken.

NEEDLELESS SYRINGE

In a needleless syringe according to the present invention, a current is supplied to a solenoid coil to generate a magnetic field so as to move a moving magnetic body and a piston forward, and when the current to the solenoid coil is cut off, an elastic member for the moving magnetic body moves the moving magnetic body backward and an elastic member for the piston moves the piston backward, so that the piston to be injected by pressurizing a drug is configured to reciprocate repeatedly forward and backward and thus, a predetermined drug can be repeatedly injected at high speed. In addition, according to the present invention, time for which the current is applied to the solenoid coil, is adjusted to minimize recoil without adding a recoil offset structure so that the structure is simple and convenience of use can be improved.

Syringe adapter for animal medication
11337894 · 2022-05-24 ·

Improved apparatus for use with animal medication in fluid form, which is particularly beneficial for medications having a relatively high viscosity. The disclosed syringe adapter has an opening that is relatively large, as compared to a conventional needle, and thus affixing the disclosed syringe adapter to a syringe improves syringeability of higher-viscosity medications. When the disclosed syringe adapter is affixed to a pistol-grip or tab-handled syringe, the medication withdrawn into the pistol-grip syringe can be more easily administered from the syringe barrel (noting that the syringe adapter will be replaced with a needle prior to injecting the medication).
