Medication delivery devices are provided having a dose delivery sensing capability. A dose button includes a support and a cover that at least partially encloses an electronics assembly including a sensor for detecting rotation of a component during dose delivery to determine a dosage of delivered medication. The electronics assembly includes a controller for receiving a signal from the sensor. The medication delivery device may be configured to communicate dosage delivery information to an external device.

The device comprises a housing (110, 140), a drive element (300) arranged to move in the distal direction to cooperate with the container (10), a drive mechanism comprising a trigger component (200), the drive mechanism being arranged to hold the drive element (300) in a starting position and to move the drive element (300) in the distal direction from the starting position upon displacement of the trigger component (200) from a working position to a firing position, an interlock component (250) received in the housing (110, 140) and arranged for movement with respect to the housing (110, 140) from a first position to a second position, and at least one flexible locking member (214) arranged to cooperate with a stop face (160) associated with the housing (110, 140) to prevent displacement of the trigger component (200) to the firing position when the interlock component (250) is in the first position. Movement of the interlock component (250) towards the second position causes bending of the flexible locking member (214) away from the stop face (160) to allow displacement of the trigger component (200) to the firing position.

A medicine dosage control injecting device for adjusting to an accurate dosage of medicine to be injected includes a dispenser being portable and having a pen shaped body. The dispenser contains a cartridge wherein the cartridge stores medicine. The dispenser has a rotational sensor and a cartridge sensor. A dosage ring is coupled to an end of the dispenser and can rotate laterally. The dosage ring is in electrical communication with the rotational sensor. The dosage ring is configured for rotating to adjust a dosage within the cartridge. A display is in electric communication with the rotational sensor and the cartridge sensor. The display shows the numerical amount of the dosage within the cartridge. An injection button is coupled to the end of the dispenser. The injection button is pushed in towards the dispenser wherein the cartridge releases the medicine through an injection port.

Injection device

An injection device includes an elongated housing extending along a longitudinal axis, a piston rod to operably engage with a piston of a cartridge filled with the medicament, a dose tracker selectively operably engageable with the piston rod, wherein the dose tracker is longitudinally displaceable relative to the housing from an initial position in a proximal direction towards at least a first activation position for setting of the dose and wherein the dose tracker is longitudinally displaceable relative to the housing in a distal direction from the at least first activation position towards the initial position for dispensing of the dose, a spring to urge the dose tracker in the proximal direction relative to the housing, an interlock to lock the dose tracker in the initial position relative to the housing, and a release member to release the interlock.

Ophthalmic device

An ophthalmic device including a cannula having a cannula distal end, a lumen, and one or more orifices coupled to the lumen is provided. The cannula is configured to deliver a fluid. A sleeve is disposed around the cannula and has a sleeve distal end. A handle is coupled to the sleeve and the cannula, the handle having an actuator. An internal mechanism is coupled to the actuator and configured to retract the sleeve relative to the cannula. The internal mechanism includes a follower fixedly coupled to the sleeve and moveable between distal and proximal positions, and a release member movable between an activated position and a release position. The release member is coupled to the actuator and configured to release a force that urges the follower from the distal position to the proximal position when the release member moves from the activated position to the release position.

DRUG DELIVERY ASSEMBLY WITH SENSOR SAMPLING FEATURE

A drug delivery assembly comprising a sensor system in combination with an indicator arranged to rotate, the amount of rotation being indicative of the size of an expelled dose amount. The sensor system comprises a sensor assembly adapted to measure a rotational position and/or a rotational movement of the indicator, the sensor assembly comprising a sensor element adapted to be operated at a non-constant sampling frequency. A processor is configured to determine on the basis of measured values from the sensor element rotational position(s) and/or amount of rotational movement of the indicator, as well as rotational speed of the indicator. To optimize energy consumption the processor is configured to dynamically control the sampling frequency in response to the determined rotational speed.

Electrostatic rotary encoder

A rotary encoder includes an electret unit, an electrostatic field sensor, and a controller. The electret unit generates an electrostatic field. The electrostatic field sensor is disposed proximate to the electret unit to sense a modulation of the electrostatic field that varies with rotation of one or more rotary components of the rotary encoder about a rotation axis of the rotary encoder. The controller is electrically coupled to the electrostatic field sensor to track activations of the electrostatic field sensor as the one or more rotary components rotate. The controller is configured to digitally encode a rotational position of the one or more rotary components based upon the activations.
