Versatile syringe platform
Apparatus and methods for medicament delivery. The apparatus may include, and the methods may involve, a delivery device for delivering a target amount of the medicament from a distal end of the device. The device may include a rod for moving a plunger that discharges the medicament from the distal end. The device may avoid or reduce deformation of the plunger during the discharge. The plunger motion may be stopped by detent that interacts with the rod. The apparatus and the methods may provide an operator indication of progress of stages of operation. The device may feature triggers corresponding to stages of medicament displacement from the device, such as pre-delivery stages, including priming.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF BLOOD COMPONENTS
A dual chambered syringe includes: an inner barrel defining a first inner chamber, the inner barrel having an apertured stopper at its distal end, the inner barrel being open at its proximal end; a shaft adapted to fit within the inner barrel, the shaft having a distal end which is engageable with the aperture of the stopper; a device for controlling engaging and disengaging of the distal end of the shaft with the aperture of the stopper; an outer barrel concentric with the inner barrel defining a second inner chamber, the outer barrel having a distal end for receiving and dispensing fluids and a proximal end into which the distal end of the inner barrel is insertable into the second inner chamber; the apertured stopper engages the second inner chamber of the outer barrel and selectively prevents or permits the passage of fluids between the outer barrel second chamber and the inner barrel first chamber; the inner barrel having an engageable surface on its outside surface; and, the outer barrel having operatively associated therewith an engaging device for selective engagement and disengagement with the engageable surface on the inner barrel.
Drive Mechanism for a Drug Delivery Device
A drive mechanism for a drug delivery device having a rotationally fixed plunger rod driven by a lead screw. The lead screw engages a free lock which is coupled to a release knob. A dose setting dial cooperates with an inner cylinder using a clutch to establish the axial movement of the plunger rod during dose setting and dispensing.
Drug delivery device with a rotatable drive mechanism
A rotatable drive mechanism for a drug delivery device may include a lead screw having a distal end, a proximal end, and external threads, a bearing, and a ball screw driver having a threaded aperture wherein the threaded aperture is configured to rotatably engage with the external threads of the lead screw. The mechanism may further include a biasing device disposed between the bearing and the ball screw driver generating an axial drive force, and an activation device configured to release the biasing device and allowing the biasing device to expand from a compressed position to an extended position through which the axial drive force of the biasing device causes the ball screw driver to axially move toward the distal end of the lead screw and rotate the lead screw such that a threaded engagement between the lead screw and the ball screw driver bears the axial drive force.
Injection device
An injection device includes a housing, a resilient member adapted to provide a force necessary for ejecting a dose from the injection device, and a dose setting member operatively connected to a dose indicator which is positioned within the housing. The dose setting member and the dose indicator cooperate to set the dose to be ejected from the injection device. The dose indicator, during dose setting, is adapted to undergo a rotational movement within the housing and relative to the housing. Further, a gauge element is provided which is rotationally constrained to the housing and axially displaceable relative to the housing. The gauge element and the dose indicator form a limiter mechanism defining a maximum settable dose and/or a minimum settable dose.
Multiple Dosage Injector with Rack and Pinion Dosage System
A dispensing mechanism for delivering a dosage of medicament including a housing, a push button, a crank arm that is slideably engageable with the push button, a ram, and a ratchet gear releasably engageable with the crank arm and ram, translation of the push button along an axis causing the crank arm to engage and rotate the ratchet gear which causes the ram to distally advance relative to the housing.
Piston seal
A piston head for a syringe pump comprises a barrier portion (11) for driving fluid through a syringe pump barrel (30), wherein a peripheral section (13,14) of the barrier portion (11) is shaped to seal against the syringe pump barrel (30); and a re-silent member (15) arranged to resist deformation of the shaped peripheral section (13,14) of the barrier portion (11).
Syringe for viscous fluids
A syringe is provided that includes a tubular body having a top end and a bottom end; a barrel portion having an orifice at a top end of the barrel portion for dispensing a fluid, the tubular body rotatably coupled to the top end of the tubular body; and a plunger body disposed within a bore of the barrel portion and within the tubular body, the plunger body includes a threaded portion that engages threads within the tubular body that cause the plunger body to move vertically within the bore of the barrel between a retracted position and a fully extended position with a twisting of the barrel portion.
ANTI-ROTATION MECHANISM FOR TELESCOPIC SCREW ASSEMBLY
An injection assembly includes a housing with a barrel positioned within the housing. The barrel includes an axis extending from a proximal end to a distal end thereof and a chamber for storing medicine. An elongate anti-rotation shaft is rotationally fixed to the housing and has a non-circular cross-section. The injection assembly includes an inner screw having an inner screw opening to complementarily receive the anti-rotation shaft to prevent rotation of the inner screw with respect to the anti-rotation shaft but allow respective linear translation along the axis. An outer screw is positioned within, and rotatable with respect to, the housing and has an outer screw opening to threadably receive the inner screw, wherein rotation of the outer screw translates the inner screw along the axis and along the anti-rotation shaft. A plunger is coupled to the distal end of the inner screw and is moveable with respect to the chamber to push the medicine out of the chamber when the outer screw is rotated.
