MEDICAL SYRINGE
A medical syringe includes a ratchet for use during dispensing. The medical syringe, by virtue of the ratchet, enables repeated dispensing of a fixed amount of a relatively high-viscosity fluid to a target site within a patient. The medical syringe may be pre-filled with fluid and the fluid maybe sealed within the medical syringe. Accordingly, the medical syringe is configured to resist leaks and/or breaches that may occur as a result of manufacturing, sterilization, shipping, and/or storage.
INCREMENTAL SYRINGE
An incremental syringe is provided and includes a syringe barrel, a finger grip disposed at the proximal end of the syringe barrel, a tab disposed inside the syringe barrel, and a plunger body having detentes, wherein the detentes are configured to interact with the tab to provide audible and tactile feedback to a user when the plunger body is pushed through the syringe barrel in a distal direction.
Dispensing mechanism for a medical device
A dispensing mechanism for administering a dosage of a medicament includes dosage setting means (7) for setting the dosage of a medicament to be administered; expelling means (15) for expelling a medicament from a medicament container; and coupling means (21) operatively coupled with the dosage setting means (7) and the expelling means (15), wherein the coupling means (21) is arranged to convert displacement of the dosage setting means (7) into a displacement of the expelling means (15) in a first direction, wherein the expelling means (15) includes a ratchet means (18a, 18b), and wherein the mechanism includes a first and a second independently moveable resisting pawl (14a, 14b) means facing a common side of the ratchet means (18), the first and the second resisting pawl means (14a, 14b) being configured to engage with the ratchet means (18a, 18b) and resist displacement of the expelling means (15) in a second direction opposite to said first direction.
EXOSTRUCTURE TO ASSIST IN ACCURATE SYRINGE INJECTION
A syringe exostructure incudes a main body which removably receives a syringe having a syringe barrel and a syringe plunger. A drive plunger is reciprocatably mounted on the main body, and a plunger bar is slidably received in an axial channel on the drive plunger. The plunger bar is configured to removably couple to the syringe plunger when the syringe is introduced into the main body. A drive pawl assembly is fixed to an upper surface of the drive plunger and transfers forward motion of the drive plunger to the plunger bar as the drive plunger is advanced and disengages from the plunger bar when the drive plunger is retracted. A locking pawl assembly is fixed to the main body and extends through a slot formed in the bottom of the axial channel in the drive plunger. The locking pawl engages the plunger bar and allows the plunger bar to be advanced by the drive plunger as the drive plunger is advanced but prevents the plunger bar from being retracted by the drive plunger as the drive plunger is retracted.
Medication Injection Device
An injection device is provided herein comprising a container body for holding medication content having a distal end and a proximal end, the container body providing an outward flange at the distal end and a ledge at the proximal end; a piston placed at the proximal end of the container body for sealing and displacing medication content; a push rod placed inside the container body for moving the piston distally; and a connector providing an orifice for medication content delivery, placed at said distal end of said container body. The orifice in the connector provides medication content injection fluid pathway. With modification of the fundamental structure, a number of innovative device designs are created.
DOSE DIVIDER SYRINGE
A syringe includes a barrel having an internal surface defining an internal bore therein; a plunger having a distal end disposed within the internal bore of the barrel, and a proximal end disposed outside the internal bore of the barrel; and a dose divider configured to bear on the barrel in response to translation of the plunger relative to the barrel along the longitudinal direction. The dose divider includes a base including a flange that extends at least partly in a radial direction; and at least one column extending away from the base along the longitudinal direction. The at least one column includes a proximal end and a distal end opposite the proximal end, the proximal end of the at least one column being coupled to the base. The at least one column includes a sacrificial portion coupled to a frangible link.
FLUID INFUSION APPARATUS USED FOR ADMINISTERING MEDICAMENT TO PATIENT
A fluid infusion apparatus (100) used for administering a medication to a patient comprises: a reservoir (101) used for storing infusion fluid; a plunger (102) located within the reservoir (101) and limiting the infusion fluid together with the reservoir (101), wherein the plunger (102) is configured to be movable along the reservoir (101); an injection button (103) operatively and synchronously moving with the plunger (102) and configured to be operable; and a displacement limiting mechanism arranged parallel to the reservoir (101), and configured to limit the plunger (102) to move for a predetermined distance within the reservoir (101) when the injection button (103) is operated, thus dispensing a predetermined amount of the fluid stored in the reservoir (101). Implementing the above apparatus reduces the overall size of the apparatus and simplifies the setting process of the injection amount, thus facilitating the administration for users.
RE-USEABLE INJECTOR DEVICE FOR SYRINGE
An injector device includes an injector body that receives a syringe; and an injection assembly being configured to dispense medicament from the syringe in a dispensation step. Certain types of injector devices include a sudden completion indicator that indicates when the injection is completed. Certain types of injector devices are configured to dispense two different medicament formulations having different viscosities from syringes without making any changes to the injector devices other than to switch out the syringes. Certain types of injector devices include safety arrangements that inhibit firing of the injector device until front and rear housing assemblies are disposed in predetermined rotational and axial positions relative to each other.
Medical injector with ratcheting plunger
A medical injector has a body with a displaceable plunger. The plunger includes a plurality of spaced-apart ratchet teeth disposed along the length thereof. At least one indexer is provided to engage the plunger, wherein the indexer is configured to allow the plunger to displace distally toward a distal end of the body but not proximally toward a proximal end of the body. The medical injector also includes an actuator having an engagement portion formed to engage one or more of the ratchet teeth. The actuator is displaceable to a ready state, the engagement portion being displaced proximally relative to the plunger with the actuator being displaced to the ready state. The indexer prevents proximal movement of the plunger, thereby allowing the engagement portion to bypass one or more of the ratchet teeth with the actuator being displaced to the ready state. In addition, the actuator is displaceable from the ready state to cause actuation of the medical injector. The displacement from the ready state causes distal displacement of the engagement portion with the engagement portion engaging one or more of the ratchet teeth and causing distal displacement of the plunger with the engagement portion.
