An injection device including: a body including a syringe locator for receiving a syringe; and a firing mechanism including a rear cap, a plunger configured to be axially displaced in a forward direction relative to the rear cap and a driver system for driving the plunger forwards upon activation of the injection device, the firing mechanism configured to be directly or indirectly connected to the body such that an axial spacing of the rear cap and a barrel of the syringe is fixed during operation of the injection device, wherein, the firing mechanism and/or the body include first and second connection features allowing adjustment of a relative axial position of the firing mechanism and the syringe locator during assembly of the injection device.

The present disclosure relates to a ratchet mechanism and to an injection device for expelling of a number of preset or user-selectable doses of a medicament. The ratchet mechanism comprises a housing and a ratchet member that is circularly shaped and rotationally supported relative to the housing. The ratchet member comprises a ratchet surface, a plurality of ratchet features on the ratchet surface, and one or more intermediate ratchet sections on the ratchet surface extending between the plurality of ratchet features. The ratchet mechanism further comprises a counter ratchet member that is circularly shaped, coaxially arranged relative to the ratchet member, rotatable relative to the ratchet member at least along a first sense of rotation, and rotationally supported relative to the housing. The counter ratchet member comprises a counter ratchet surface, a plurality of counter ratchet features on the counter ratchet surface, and one or more intermediate counter ratchet sections.

A drug delivery device (100) for delivering an amount of medicament comprising a housing and a medicament reservoir (135) with a piston (136). The device further comprises a ratchet mechanism comprising a first and a second set of movable and stationary ratchet members (281, 381, 481, 165.1, 365.1) adapted to provide a first and a second plurality of periodic audible signals, during the expelling of medicament. The ratchet mechanism is further adapted for generating the first and second plurality of periodic signals out-of-phase, whereby each of the signals are distinguishable by a user. The ratchet mechanism further comprises means to provide a radial force to counteract influence from radial play, which otherwise may generate variation in the frequency.

Disclosed are systems that include a syringe having a barrel configured to hold a fluid and a plunger configured to draw the fluid into the barrel when the plunger is pulled backward through the barrel. The syringe is configured to inhibit forward movement of the plunger. For example, the systems can include mating pockets configured to engage barbs to inhibit forward movement of the plunger.

A dose setting mechanism for a medicament delivery device is presented having a locking assembly that reliably and consistently unlocks a dose injection button and concurrently a lead screw when the dose setting mechanism is transitioned from a non-activated state to an activated state. This locking assembly uses a rotating plate having a locking protrusion that engages a radial projecting tab on a rotationally fixed plunger rod nut. An alignment member is also presented that prevents rotational drift of a dosing member.

An injector device includes an injector body that receives a syringe; and an injection assembly being configured to dispense medicament from the syringe in a dispensation step. Certain types of injector devices include a sudden completion indicator that indicates when the injection is completed. Certain types of injector devices are configured to dispense two different medicament formulations having different viscosities from syringes without making any changes to the injector devices other than to switch out the syringes. Certain types of injector devices include safety arrangements that inhibit firing of the injector device until front and rear housing assemblies are disposed in predetermined rotational and axial positions relative to each other.

An dual-dose syringe system is an apparatus that includes a tubular housing and a plunger. The tubular housing attaches onto a variety of syringe and needle assemblies and mounts the plunger within the syringe. The tubular housing prevents the plunger from simply traversing into the syringe. The tubular housing includes a first lateral-half portion and a second lateral half-portion that snaps onto each other and encloses a syringe. The tubular housing further includes a key slot that engages the plunger. The plunger includes a plurality of cross bars that predetermine two doses. Each of the plurality of cross bars is positioned perpendicular to a corresponding adjacent bar, forcing a user to purposefully twist the plunger in order to administer a dose. The apparatus further includes at least one spring-loaded barb that prevents the reuse of the apparatus.

A syringe including a barrel having an internal reservoir for containing a volume of medication, a plunger received within the barrel and axially movable relative thereto to change the volume of medication in the reservoir, and a dosage indicator movable with the plunger, the dosage indicator in contact with the barrel such that at least one of an audible alert and a tactile alert is produced upon movement of the dosage indicator relative to the barrel.

A dispensing device is disclosed which provides for dispensing multiple doses in amounts determined by a movable collar attached to a plunger shaft.

A medical injection device, including: a medication container having a mov-able piston; a push rod assembly displaceably disposed in the medical injection device, the push rod assembly having a plurality of spaced-apart position setting means disposed along the length thereof, the push rod assembly selectively displacing the movable piston to dispense medicament from the medication container; a spring to bias the push rod assembly to move toward the distal end of the medical injection device; a releasable restraining means configured to releasably restrain the push rod assembly in a locked state against the biasing of the spring, wherein, upon release of the releasable restraining means, the push rod assembly moves under force of the spring toward the distal end of the medical injection device; and an arming means configured to move the push rod assembly toward the proximal end of the medical injection device.
