Safety syringe assembly
The safety syringe assembly is for inserting a needle into a patient and comprises a needle hub assembly and a safety cover. The needle hub assembly includes a needle, needle hub, and hub flex unit. The needle is mounted on the front side of the needle hub while the rear side is for receiving a syringe. The safety cover houses the needle hub assembly in a first position during shipping, a second position during insertion of the needle into the patient, and in a third position after the needle has been inserted into the patient while awaiting disposal. A portion of the safety cover includes magnification enabling a user to view a dosage calibration scale, needle bevel and air bubbles. The hub flex unit assumes a first enlarged position during shipping, is compressed during insertion into the patient, and slides into a third position after usage while awaiting disposal.
EXPANDABLE AND AUTOMATICALLY RETRACTABLE COLLAR AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
A flexible collar including a rigid body having a cylindrical outer surface and a cylindrical inner surface concentrically aligned with respect to a common longitudinal axis, a top surface, and a bottom surface, the inner surface defining a bore from the top surface to the bottom surface, and each of the top and bottom surfaces having an endless pathway confined to a respective plane and circumscribing a respective edge of the inner surface. The flexible collar further includes at least one accordion region having a plurality of pivots, at least two of the pivots being radially spaced apart from the longitudinal axis at different distances, and the accordion region being configured to radially deform.
INTEGRATED PASSIVE SYRINGE NEEDLE SAFETY SYSTEM WITH TORQUED COMPRESSION SPRING AND MULTI-PART COLLAR
A needle safety system for a syringe having a generally cylindrical barrel extending along a longitudinal axis, the barrel having a hub from which a needle extends distally. The needle safety device has a sleeve at least partially enclosing the needle. A guide track is formed in the sleeve. A multi-part collar disposed in the sleeve has an inner collar which is fixedly connectable to the hub of a syringe barrel. An outer collar is rotatably attached to the inner collar. A guide pin extending radially outwardly from the outer collar slideably engages the guide track. A torqueable compression spring extending between the outer collar and the sleeve biases the sleeve in a distal direction and also biases the outer collar in rotation relative to the sleeve.
MULTI-COMPONENT SAFETY NEEDLE COVER
A safety cover configured to be coupled to an injection device and to provide a protective enclosure for a needle of the injection device, the safety cover including an outer cover member; an inner cover member coupled to the outer cover member in a concentric arrangement so that the outer cover member encloses at least a portion of the inner cover member, wherein the outer cover member is configured to move relative to the inner cover member from an unlocked position, in which the needle of the injection device is accessible for use, to a locked position, in which the outer cover member and the inner cover member are fixed at one another and the needle of the injection device is inaccessible, wherein the outer cover member includes a body that includes a proximal end, a distal end, and a cavity defined within the body.
Syringe needle shield and base for the same
A syringe needle shield that includes a first part and a second part. The first part is connected to the second part by a pivotable first connection portion. The second part is pivotable on the first connection portion toward the first part, and a needle hub is clamped between the first and second parts. The first and second parts are securely connected to each other by the first snapping portion which cannot be unlocked from each other. The first part is connected to a needle shield by a flexible plate. The shield receives a push force from its back so as to move from a first position to a second position. When the shield is located at the second position, a restriction portion is fixedly engaged with an engaging portion.
INTRADERMAL NEEDLE, PACKAGED ARTICLE, AND INJECTION DEVICE
Provided are an intradermal needle having a protector that is movable from an open position near a needle hub to a closed position where a needle tip is covered, a packaged article, and an injection device. The protector has an arm that is supported in a freely pivotable manner by an axle pin positioned on the base end side of the wide diameter part of the intradermal needle, and a lid supported by the arm. With the axle of pivoting of the protector positioned near the needle hub, the lid may be housed compactly near the needle hub when the protector is in the open position.
NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
A needle assembly is disclosed, which includes a needle protection member and a rotor. The rotor has a rotor body and a restriction portion. When the needle protection member in the initial state is displaced from the protection position to a use position and returns to a protection position, the restriction portion is displaced from the initial position to the lock position by the rotation of the rotor body with respect to the needle protection member. A needle hub has a displacement prevention portion that prevents the needle protection member from being displaced from the protection position to the use position again by contacting the restriction portion at the lock position.
INTRADERMAL NEEDLE, PACKAGING ARTICLE THEREOF, AND INJECTION DEVICE
In an intradermal needle including a tubular needle that can be punctured into a living body, a packaging article, and an injection device, a pivotable protector is provided to a wide diameter part. The protector has an arm that can pivot around an axle of pivoting, and a lid. The pivoting axle part is provided to the wide diameter part, and the lid is formed to give a width smaller than a diameter of the wide diameter part. The arm keeps the lid in the open position away from the pivoting axle part and closer to an axis of the needle hub.
NEEDLE SAFETY SYSTEM
A syringe safety system may include a sleeve. The sleeve may include a guide track formed in the sleeve. The guide track may have a guide pin retention portion, a travel portion, and a lockout portion. The syringe safety system may include a collar having a guide from an exterior surface of the collar. A spring may extend between and be coupled to the collar and the sleeve. A cap may engage the sleeve. The cap may be configured to retain the guide pin in the guide pin retention portion of the guide tack. When the cap is removed, the spring advances the guide pin into the travel portion of the guide track.
