PLUNGER RESTRICTED SAFETY SYRINGE
To prevent accidental needle stick injuries, a syringe has a plunger configured to pull the syringe needle into the syringe barrel after clinical use. The syringe has an additional safety feature that restricts subsequent movement of the plunger. After the needle is pulled entirely into the barrel, movement of the plunger is restricted by a notch on the barrel to prevent the needle tip from being pushed accidentally through the barrel wall.
Fluid delivery device and method
A fluid delivery injector comprises a syringe defining a barrel; a plunger and a hollow needle provided within the barrel adapted for linear movement parallel to a longitudinal axis with a distal tip of the needle contained within the syringe. A fluid retention reservoir is defined at least in the barrel and is in fluid communication with the needle when pressure is applied to the fluid in the reservoir and to the plunger for moving the needle out of the barrel. A spring may be provided for retracting the needle when pressure is released from the plunger.
MEDICINAL FLUID DELIVERY DEVICES AND ASSOCIATES METHODS FOR ADVANCING AND RETRACTING NEEDLES
Medicinal fluid delivery devices and methods for advancing and retracting needles are disclosed. According to an aspect, a medicinal fluid delivery device includes a tube that defines an interior space that extends between a first and second openings. The device includes a needle including a proximal end and a distal end that substantially align in a first direction. A portion of the distal end is biased to extend in a second direction different than the first direction. A mechanism is attached to the proximal end and configured to position the distal end between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the portion of the distal end is constrained by the interior wall such that is does not extend in the second direction. In the second position, the distal end is not constrained by the interior wall such that it extends in the second direction.
Retractable needle syringe with unitary propellant release module
A modular retractable needle assembly having a unitary propellant release structure is provided. The modular retractable needle assembly can be coupled to a suitable syringe. A modular filler needle can be provided that is engageable to the syringe. Kits comprising the modular retractable needle assembly, one or more syringes, and a modular filler needle are provided.

Provided are an intradermal needle having a protector that is movable from an open position near a needle hub to a closed position where a needle tip is covered, a packaged article, and an injection device. The protector has an arm that is supported in a freely pivotable manner by an axle pin positioned on the base end side of the wide diameter part of the intradermal needle, and a lid supported by the arm. With the axle of pivoting of the protector positioned near the needle hub, the lid may be housed compactly near the needle hub when the protector is in the open position.
AUTO-INJECTORS FOR ADMINISTRATION OF A MEDICAMENT WITHIN A PREFILLED SYRINGE
An apparatus includes a housing, a carrier, and an expandable assembly. The housing defines an opening configured to selectively place a gas chamber of the housing in fluid communication with an exterior volume. The carrier is movably disposed within the housing and is coupled to a medicament container. A proximal surface of the carrier defines a portion of a boundary of the gas chamber. The expandable assembly has a first member and a second member. The first member is coupled to an elastomeric member disposed within the medicament container, and the second member includes a valve portion. The expandable assembly transitions from a collapsed configuration to an expanded configuration when the elastomeric member moves within the medicament container. The valve portion moves relative to the opening when the expandable assembly transitions from the first to the second configuration, placing the gas chamber in fluid communication with the exterior volume.

A needle module for a drive-controlled handheld unit for repeatedly piercing human or animal skin, comprising a housing; a needle holder, which can be moved back and forth in the housing in a longitudinal direction of the housing; a piercing device on the needle holder, which can be moved, on account of the movement of the needle holder, between a proximal and a distal position, in which a piercing tip of the piercing device is arranged outside the housing; a coupling component, which is coupled to the needle holder in such a way that a driving movement provided with a repetition frequency by a drive device that can be coupled to the coupling component can be introduced onto the needle holder; and a damping component, which is arranged between the needle holder and the coupling component and is configured to damp a transfer of force therebetween.
Multi-part safety device for a syringe
The invention relates to a safety device for a syringe for avoiding stab wounds, said syringe to having a syringe body and a piercing means arranged on the distal end of the syringe body. The safety device comprises a sleeve element (6) that extends along an axial direction (X) and encloses at least partly the piercing means and the syringe body, said sleeve element being rotatably mounted on a distal end region of the syringe body. The safety device is characterized by comprising a contact element (7) which contacts the skin of a patient when the syringe is used, said contact element being arranged on the distal end of the sleeve element and being rotatable independent of the sleeve element.
IV CATHETER WITH INTEGRAL EXTENSION SET AND A SPRING POWERED NEEDLE SAFETY
Catheter and needle assemblies with spring-powered retractable needles are described. The assemblies can include a hollow handle, a grip portion, a catheter hub with a catheter, and a needle. The needle can have a first position in which the needle is slidably disposed within the catheter and a second position in which the needle is slidably removed from the catheter and retracted at least in part into the hollow handle. The grip portion can include a trigger portion that activates a spring to move the needle from the first position into the second position. In the second position, a sharp distal point of the needle is shielded by the grip portion to prevent accidental needle sticks.
