MEDICAMENT INJECTION DEVICE AND METHOD
20200030534 · 2020-01-30 ·

A medicament injection device including a needle, a first stage that controls positioning of the needle at a depth into an animal when the device is pressed against the animal, and a second stage that injects the medicament through the needle into the animal after the needle is positioned at the depth and the device is further pressed against the animal. The device preferably includes a mechanism that permits the second stage to inject the medicament only after the needle is positioned at the depth. The depth of the needle preferably is adjustable, as is the amount of the medicament injected. In preferred aspects, these two features are independently adjustable. One or more springs, pneumatics elements, or other elements may automatically reset the first stage, the second stage, or both after the device is withdrawn from the animal. Also, associated methods.

PAIN-REDUCING INJECTION APPARATUS

A pain-reducing injection apparatus to enhance the safety, efficacy, and efficiency of injection procedures which utilize topical pain-reducing measures. Apparatuses and methods of use provide pain reduction through thermal cooling of an injection region or vibrations the region or both, and optionally including safety shielding and lockout features.

Retractable needle assemblies
10532164 · 2020-01-14 · ·

A retractable needle assembly (1) is disclosed comprising a body portion (10); a needle (50) having a forward end (52) and being movable between an operable orientation in which the forward end projects forwardly from the body portion, and a safe orientation in which said forward end (52) is retracted into the body portion (50). The needle assembly further comprises a deflector (70) mounted in the body portion (50), which is moveable between a first position and a second position, wherein the movement of the deflector (70) between its first and second position urges the needle into its safe orientation, the deflector being biased towards the second position; a latching mechanism which holds the deflector in the first position; and an actuator (90), operable to release the latching mechanism.

Huber Safety Needle

Disclosed is a Huber needle assembly that may include an upper body connected to a lower body, the assembly being structured to retain a needle for insertion/extraction of the needle into/from an insertion site. The upper body can statically retain the needle while the lower body may slidably receive the needle. The lower body can further include a catch that engages a tip of the needle and/or misaligns the tip of the needle with a needle aperture of the lower body to place the assembly in a safety-lock position, preventing rebound, needle-stick injury, and/or any type of exposure of the needle tip to an environment outside of the lower body. The assembly can further bias the needle in a direction so as to prevent re-emergence of the needle tip after being withdrawn into the lower body.

Module for a sharps retraction device

A fluid extraction device is provided for extracting fluid from a syringe assembly including a syringe port and a sleeve. The device includes a body with first and second ends, the first end defining a fluid entry port, and the second end defining a fluid exit port. A channel through the body connects the fluid entry and fluid exit ports. At least one push member extends radially from the body and is configured to contact the sleeve of the syringe assembly in use such to push it from a first position in which the sleeve closes the syringe port to a second position in which the sleeve exposes the syringe port.

Dual chamber syringe with retractable needle

One or more embodiments include reuse prevention features and features that prevent premature activation of the retraction mechanism. Methods for aspirating and expelling liquid from medical devices are also provided.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SAFETY SYRINGE

A system for injecting includes a syringe body defining a proximal opening and a distal needle interface. The system also includes a plunger member defining a plunger interior and configured to be manually manipulated to insert a stopper member relative to the syringe body. The plunger member includes a needle retention feature disposed in the plunger interior, an energy-storage member disposed in the plunger interior, and an energy-storage member latching member disposed in the plunger interior. The system further includes a needle hub assembly coupled to the distal needle interface of the syringe body. The needle assembly includes a needle having a needle proximal end feature, a hub, and a needle latching member configured to couple the needle to the hub. The needle is retractable into plunger interior upon manipulation of the plunger member to actuate the energy-storage member latching member.

Insertion device for a biosensor and insertion method thereof

An insertion device includes an upper casing, an insertion module and a lower casing. The insertion module is disposed in the upper casing, and includes a main body assembly, an insertion seat, a first elastic member, a retraction seat and a second elastic member. When the upper casing is depressed, the insertion seat is driven by the first elastic member to perform an automatic-insertion operation, such that limiting structure between the insertion seat and the retraction seat collapses upon the collapse of another limiting structure between the insertion seat and the main body assembly, and that the retraction seat is driven by the second elastic member to perform an automatic-retraction operation.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SAFETY SYRINGE

A system for serially injecting liquids includes a syringe body, proximal and distal stopper members disposed in the syringe body, a first liquid in a distal chamber, a second liquid in a proximal chamber, a plunger member, and a needle hub assembly coupled to a distal needle interface of the syringe body. The plunger member includes a needle retention feature disposed in a plunger interior, an energy-storage member disposed in the plunger interior, and an energy-storage member latching member disposed in the plunger interior. The needle assembly includes a needle having a needle proximal end feature, a hub, and a needle latching member configured to couple the needle to the hub. Manipulating the plunger member to insert the proximal stopper member distally relative to the syringe body initially expels the first liquid, then the second liquid. The needle is at least partially retractable into plunger interior.
