Needle assembly with needle shroud and movable needle support
A needle assembly for mounting on an injection device which comprises a body configured to be attached to an injection device in use; a double ended needle and a needle shield coupled to the body. The needle shield is arranged for axial movement with respect to the body. The needle assembly has an injection configuration, in which the shield is positioned such that the forward tip of the needle projects beyond a forward end of the shield. The needle assembly also has a shroud configuration, in which the shield is positioned such that the forward end of the shield extends beyond the forward tip of the needle. The needle assembly further comprises a needle support fixed relative to the body when the needle assembly is in the injection configuration. Movement of the shield from the injection configuration to the shroud configuration axially displaces the needle support relative to the body.
Medicament injection device
A medicament injection device comprising: a main body configured to receive a medicament cartridge, a needle sleeve axially movable with respect to the main body, a needle holder holding a needle, and a displacement element coupled to the needle holder and disengageably coupled to the needle sleeve; wherein, upon axial displacement of the needle sleeve by a predefined distance in a proximal direction, the needle carrier and needle are displaced axially in a proximal direction.
Auto-Injector with Cap
A drug delivery device includes a housing, a syringe assembly including a barrel, a stopper, a cannula, and a rigid needle shield receiving at least a portion of the cannula, with at least a portion of the syringe assembly positioned within the housing, a drive assembly, with a portion of the drive assembly positioned within the housing, a cap secured to the housing, with the cap including an outer portion defining an interior space and a retainer comprising a body with a removal projection configured to remove the rigid needle shield upon axial movement of the outer portion of the cap away from the housing, and a needle cover having a pre-use position, an actuation position, and a post-use position. The outer portion receives a portion of the needle cover, with the outer portion configured to prevent movement of the needle cover from the pre-use to the actuation position.
PEN NEEDLE MAGAZINE
A pen needle magazine (10) comprising a plurality of compartments (14) each carrying a pen needle (40) with an inner thread (44) and an outer thread (46), and an inner shield (80) including an inner thread (82), the inner shield (80) being disposed in each of the plurality of compartments (14), wherein the inner thread (82) of the inner shield (80) is configured to engage the outer thread (46) of the pen needle (40), and the inner thread (44) and the outer thread (46) of the pen needle (40) are threaded in different directions.
VARIABLE LENGTH INJECTION SYRINGE
A syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel (12) having a proximal end and a distal end, a needle hub (20) supporting the needle and coupled to the distal end of the syringe barrel (12). A moveable shield (36) is included for sliding from a first position where the needle is exposed a first length, a second position where the needle is exposed a second length less than said first length, and a third position covering a distal end of the needle. A locking mechanism (48, 86) is included to retain the shield in the second position while enabling the shield to slide to the third position, and to lock the shield in the third position to prevent re-use of the syringe.
Autoinjector
Described is an autoinjector comprising a case, a door hingedly coupled to the case and having an open position and a closed position, a plunger slidably disposed in the case, and at least one drive spring applying a biasing force on the plunger relative to the case, wherein the door is operably coupled to the plunger, and wherein rotation of the door from the closed position to the open position moves the plunger from a distal position in the case to a proximal position in the case and compresses the at least one drive spring.
DETACHABLE NEEDLE PROTECTION CAP FOR INJECTION DEVICES
The invention relates to a detachable needle protection cap for injection devices and to a method for producing same. The detachable needle protection cap comprises a housing and at least two shell parts which can be attached to an outer surface of the housing, the shell parts being fastened to an outer surface of the housing. The shell parts can mutually prevent removal of the shell parts.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING A MEDICAMENT
A device for delivery of medicament is presented that has an elongated housing, a container mounted within the housing and adapted to contain liquid medicament, a stopper slidably arranged within said container, and a delivery mechanism comprising a resilient member, a plunger assembly having one end connected to the stopper and a second end being operably connected to the resilient member, a rotatable latch for releasably retaining the plunger assembly in a first position where the resilient member has an accumulated energy, where rotation of the latch releases the plunger assembly such that the accumulated energy is transferred to the plunger assembly for driving the stopper within the container whereby the medicament within said container is delivered to an injection site. After delivery of the medicament a rotator having a hard stop feature aligns with a rib on the protective shield to prevent retraction of the protective shield.
Safety needle device
A safety needle device is disclosed having a housing configured to couple to a syringe, the housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a housing body. A needle hub is disposed on the proximal end of the housing and a needle cannula is attached to the needle hub. The device having a retractable sheath configured to move between an initial position, a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing, wherein the initial position partially exposes a distal tip of the needle cannula, the retracted position fully exposes the needle cannula, and the extended position fully covers the distal tip of the needle cannula. The safety needle device may include an activation latch, a lockout latch, a tether and a spring element to bias the retractable sheath to an extended state to cover the distal end of the needle cannula upon completion of an injection. The safety needle device may include a slider element disposed above an activation latch. A method of drug delivery is also disclosed.
Needle shield for injection needle retraction
An injector includes a housing, a needle hub movably mounted within the housing and an injection needle supported by the hub. The hub and the needle are axially translatable between retracted and injection positions. A needle shield, having an aperture, is movably connected to the housing between first and second positions. The needle extends through the needle shield aperture in the injection position of the needle and the first position of the needle shield, and the needle is blocked from extending through the needle shield aperture in the second position of the needle shield. When the needle shield is in the second position and the hub and the needle are in the injection position, the needle shield covers the tip of the needle and subsequent movement of the needle shield toward the first position axially translates the hub and the needle back toward the retracted position.
