INTRAOCULAR DELIVERY DEVICES AND METHODS THEREFOR
Injection devices for delivering pharmaceutical compositions into the eye are described. Some devices include a resistance component for controllably deploying an injection needle through the eye wall. The resistance component may be disposed on the injector device, or on a portion of the injection device housing, or on a drug reservoir. Some devices may be removably attached to a drug reservoir, for example, through a luer connector. Other devices may comprise internal luer seal for securely connecting a drug conduit of the device to the luer cavity of a drug reservoir. Yet other devices may comprise a priming-enabling element to facilitate the drug priming of a shielded needle. Related methods and systems comprising the devices are also described.
AUTOMATIC INJECTOR WITH NEEDLE COVER
An auto-injector automatically dispenses a predetermined dose of medicament upon activation. The auto-injector includes a needle cover operative to engage an injection site and activate the injector. The needle cover is configured to move from a locked retracted position prior to a medicament dispensing operation to a locked extended position after the medicament dispensing operation. The non-removable needle cover prevents contact with the needle both before and after the medicament dispensing operation.
Drug injection device with visual and audio indicators
A drug injection device (10) including a housing (12) for holding a container (20) having a needle (24) for penetrating skin and a plunger (42) for expelling a drug stored in the container. The device includes visual and/or audible indicators for indicating that the correct depth of needle penetration has been achieved and that drug injection/extrusion has been started and/or completed. The device may further include a label (140) for visually confirming the quality of the drug contained therein. Alternatively, a tray (110) may be provided for receiving the drug injection device, which allows the quality of the drug contained therein to be visually confirmed.
Drug Delivery Device with a Cap
A needle assembly for use with a drug delivery device comprises a cap releasably secured to the drug delivery device and a blocking member. The blocking member comprises a disinfectant swab and a user graspable portion. The blocking member is configured to be physically moved with respect to the needle assembly by a user. The needle assembly is configured such that in an initial position, the blocking member blocks the cap from being removed from the drug delivery device and movement of the blocking member from the initial position causes the disinfectant swab to contact a septum of a cartridge retained within the drug delivery device.
IMPROVED INJECTION DEVICE
An injection device is presented having an outer housing configured to receive a syringe, the syringe containing medicament, a movable stopper, and a needle. A plunger rod moves the stopper and a needle shield moves relative to the outer housing between a needle covering position and a needle exposing position, where the needle exposing position is axially rearward of the needle covering position. The needle shield is biased axially forwardly toward the needle covering position. A locking member is axially moveable in the outer housing from a first axial position to a second axial position in response to forward axial movement of the plunger rod. A locking sleeve is axially movable relative to the outer housing between a non-locking position and a locking position, the locking position being axially rearward of the non-locking position, in which axial movement of the locking sleeve is selectively limited by the locking member when in the second axial position.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING A MEDICAMENT
A device for delivery of medicament is presented that has an elongated housing, a container mounted within the housing and adapted to contain liquid medicament, a stopper slidably arranged within said container, and a delivery mechanism comprising a resilient member, a plunger assembly having one end connected to the stopper and a second end being operably connected to the resilient member, a rotatable latch for releasably retaining the plunger assembly in a first position where the resilient member has an accumulated energy, where rotation of the latch releases the plunger assembly such that the accumulated energy is transferred to the plunger assembly for driving the stopper within the container whereby the medicament within said container is delivered to an injection site. After delivery of the medicament a rotator having a hard stop feature aligns with a rib on the protective shield to prevent retraction of the protective shield.
Injector device
An injector device includes a housing for receiving a medicament cartridge; a needle unit comprising a needle; and a first sleeve slideable along a longitudinal axis of the housing from a first position, in which the first sleeve conceals the needle, to a second position, in which the needle is exposed from an end of the first sleeve, the first sleeve configured to engage the needle unit so that, during use, movement of the first sleeve from the first position to the second position moves the needle unit from a primary position to a secondary position, in which secondary position the needle unit locates over an end of a medicament cartridge, wherein the device further comprises a second sleeve arranged to move telescopically with respect to the first sleeve, the first sleeve extending from the second sleeve when the first sleeve is in the first position.
Self-retracting mechanized syringe and methods of use
A self-retracting syringe has an injection assembly and a retraction assembly. The injection assembly has a housing, a spring rest, and a spring that is restrained initially in compression between the housing and the spring rest. A plunger rod is disposed inside the coil of the spring. A coupler in contact with the spring rest and the plunger rod releasably couples the plunger rod to the spring rest. When a latch is released, the plunger rod moves distally to urge a seal forward, which seal movement causes a hypodermic needle to extend and a medicament to be expelled through the hypodermic needle. A retraction assembly returns the hypodermic needle into the syringe body after the medicament is expelled. Embodiments of retraction assembly provide an inlet through which fluid may be introduced into the syringe through said hypodermic needle. Methods for filling the syringe are also described.
Safety needle devices
A safety needle device may include: a hub configured to be connected to a vessel; a needle attached to the hub, the needle extending between a distal end, configured for insertion into a patient, and an opposed proximal end, configured for connection to the vessel; a shield slidable relative to the hub and rotationally constrained, wherein the shield is irreversibly slidable from an initial position, before injection, to a locking position, after injection, passing through an intermediate position; a housing attached to the hub and surrounding: a portion of the hub, a portion of the shield when the shield is in the initial position and in the locking position, and almost totally the shield when the shield is in the intermediate position; and an elastic member biased to push the shield toward the distal end and to resist a longitudinal sliding of the shield toward the proximal end.
Safety Device for Shielding an Injection Needle of a Medical Container, and an Injection Device Including This Safety Device
The safety device includes a tubular body extending along a longitudinal axis. The tubular body is configured to receive the medical container, a needle cover movable relative to said body between a retracted position, and an extended position in which the needle cover distally extends from the retracted position in order to shield the injection needle after activation of the safety device, a release element configured to move the needle cover from the retracted to the extended position after activation of the safety device, and a retainer for maintaining the release element in a compressed condition when the needle cover is in the retracted position. The retainer is configured to transmit a user's activation force to the needle cover once the injection operation is completed. The needle cover includes a distal abutment surface, said distal abutment surface abutting against a proximal abutment surface of a bump protruding from the body in the retracted position of the needle cover. The bump extends in a circumferential direction according to a central angle comprised between 22.5°-45°.
