INJECTION ASSEMBLY WITH MOVABLE SLEEVE
An injection assembly includes a syringe barrel (12) having a proximal end and a distal end, a needle hub (20) supporting the needle and coupled to the distal end of the syringe barrel (12). A sleeve (32) is positioned on the syringe barrel and needle hub for sliding between a first position where the needle is covered and a second position exposing the needle. The sleeve (32) is biased to the extended position to cover the needle. The sleeve has a distal end (38) and a proximal end (40). During use, the syringe is positioned against the skin of the patient so that distal end of the sleeve contacts the skin of the patient before the needle so that lateral or angular force applied relative to the surface of the skin is absorbed by the sleeve to inhibit sliding of the sleeve and resist bending of the needle during insertion.
Intravenous access assist device with safety feature
The present invention is a simple-to-use IV placement assist device with an added safety feature. A catheter advancer is slidably integrated with a base to guide advancement of a catheter linearly along the insertion path of the needle and catheter. A safety feature is engaged by a movable component moving from a first position to a second position, such movable enabling relative movement between the base and catheter advancer and/or catheter assembly, rotation of the needle about its length axis, and/or minor advancement of the catheter assembly to sheath the tip of the needle. The IV placement assist device stabilizes and guides the critical needle insertion and catheter advancement steps of a complication-prone and very common procedure.
PEN NEEDLE
Disclosed is a pen needle including: a needle; a needle hub which comprises a coupling structure, which can be screw-coupled to a body, holds the needle and has protrusions formed on a supporting surface; a spring which has one side supported on the supporting surface and provides resilience; a plunger which has a plurality of resilient blades, which can be folded or unfolded, and has a hollow through which the needle passes; a small cap which is supported on the other side of the spring and receives the plurality of blades such that the plurality of blades can be received therein or be dislodged; and a medium cap which is coupled to the small cap, accommodates the small cap such that the small cap can move, and has serrations corresponding to the protrusions.
Autoinjector
Described is an autoinjector comprising a case, a door hingedly coupled to the case and having an open position and a closed position, a plunger slidably disposed in the case, and at least one drive spring applying a biasing force on the plunger relative to the case, wherein the door is operably coupled to the plunger, and wherein rotation of the door from the closed position to the open position moves the plunger from a distal position in the case to a proximal position in the case and compresses the at least one drive spring.
Needle guard
A needle guard assembly having a resilient arm extending from a base situated to slide along the shaft of a needle. In one implementation the needle guard has an elongate containment member that rides with the resilient arm and is co-operable with the resilient arm to effectuate a covering of the entire distal tip of the needle upon the needle being retracted into the needle guard.
Detachable needle protection cap for injection devices
The invention relates to a detachable needle protection cap for injection devices and to a method for producing same. The detachable needle protection cap comprises a housing and at least two shell parts which can be attached to an outer surface of the housing, the shell parts being fastened to an outer surface of the housing. The shell parts can mutually prevent removal of the shell parts.
AUTO-INJECTOR WITH CAP
A drug delivery device (10) includes a housing (26), a syringe assembly (16) including a barrel (52), a stopper (54), a cannula (56), and a rigid needle shield (58) receiving at least a portion of the cannula, with at least a portion of the syringe assembly positioned within the housing, a drive assembly (40), with at least a portion of the drive assembly positioned within the housing, a cap (18) secured to the housing, with the cap including an outer portion (20) defining an interior space and a retainer (160) comprising a body with a removal projection (164) configured to remove the rigid needle shield upon axial movement of the outer portion of the cap away from the housing, and a needle cover (22) having a pre-use position, an actuation position, and a post-use position. The outer portion receives a portion of the needle cover, with the outer portion configured to prevent movement of the needle cover from the pre-use position to the actuation position.
AUTO-INJECTOR WITH ACTUATION PREVENTION CAP
A drug delivery device includes a housing, a syringe assembly including a barrel, a stopper, and a cannula, with at least a portion of the syringe assembly positioned within the housing, a drive assembly configured to move the stopper within the barrel upon actuation of the drive assembly, with at least a portion of the drive assembly positioned within the housing, a needle cover having a pre-use position where the cannula is positioned within the needle cover, an actuation position where the needle cover is configured to actuate the drive assembly, and a post-use position where the cannula is positioned within the needle cover, and a cap receiving a portion of the needle cover, with the cap configured to prevent movement of the needle cover from the pre-use position to the actuation position.
Device and method for delivering a medicament
A device for delivery of medicament is presented that has an elongated housing, a container mounted within the housing and adapted to contain liquid medicament, a stopper slidably arranged within said container, and a delivery mechanism comprising a resilient member, a plunger assembly having one end connected to the stopper and a second end being operably connected to the resilient member, a rotatable latch for releasably retaining the plunger assembly in a first position where the resilient member has an accumulated energy, where rotation of the latch releases the plunger assembly such that the accumulated energy is transferred to the plunger assembly for driving the stopper within the container whereby the medicament within said container is delivered to an injection site. After delivery of the medicament a rotator having a hard stop feature aligns with a rib on the protective shield to prevent retraction of the protective shield.
Safety pen needles
A safety pen needle includes: a main body, a cannula fixed to the main body and at least partially projecting out of the main body, a lock element placed inside the main body, a thrust element placed inside the main body, and a shield movable relative to the main body while remaining at least partially inserted within the main body. The pen needle is configured to move from a first configuration, in which the shield entirely covers an upper end of the cannula, to a second configuration, in which the upper end of the cannula is exposed, due to the action of external thrust. The pen needle is configured to move from the second configuration to an irreversible third configuration, in which the shield entirely covers the upper end of the cannula, due to the action of thrust exerted by the thrust element.
