The present invention discloses a safety syringe and a safety mechanism for use in the safety syringe. In one example, the safety syringe comprises: a barrel having a proximal end, a distal end and a cavity being between the proximal end and the distal end and defining a longitudinal axis, a needle holder extending distally from the distal end; a plunger having a distal portion inserted inside the barrel from the proximal end of barrel and a proximal portion located outside the barrel; a needle having a proximal portion inserted into a needle passage of the needle holder from the distal side of the needle holder and a distal portion located outside the needle holder, the needle being hollow and in fluid communication with the cavity of the barrel; and a safety mechanism mounted at least partially around the needle holder; at an unactuated position of the safety mechanism, the distal portion of the needle is not covered by the safety mechanism; at an actuated position of the safety mechanism, at least distal tip end of the needle is covered by the safety mechanism to prevent accidental contact with the distal tip end of the needle. According to the present disclosure, it is feasible to, upon assembling the syringe, first duly mount the safety mechanism, and then mount the needle. As such, the needle needs to be calibrated only once, and furthermore, the safety mechanism, before being actuated, does not interfere with the needle.

RETRACTABLE NEEDLE CATHETER INSERTION DEVICE

A retractable needle catheter insertion device is provided with a cannula and a needle positioned within the cannula to assist with insertion of the cannula. After insertion of the cannula into a patient, the needle can retract into a protective sleeve that contains the needle in order to reduce the chance that a medical practitioner will be inadvertently stuck by a used needle. The needle is carried by a needle support that is slidably disposed within the sleeve. A spring biases the needle support and needle toward a retracted position, and the device also includes an activation hub that works in conjunction with the needle support to control retraction of the needle. The retraction may be activated manually by the medical practitioner or may be activated automatically. A modular system and method of manufacturing is also provided in which catheters having either manually or automatic retraction can be manufactured using common parts.

Device for dispensing a substance having: a dispensing element through which the substance can be dispensed, a displaceable protective element for the dispensing element, a drive element that is coupled with the protective element and a feedback element which can generate a signal when or after a predefined quantity or the entire quantity of the substance to be dispensed has been dispensed characterized in that the feedback device is coupled with the drive element.

Safe ejection intravenous needle

An ejection-type safety intravenous needle includes a sheath, a hub, a cannula fixed on the hub, and a base. An accommodation cavity is formed in the base. The hub is fixed in the accommodation cavity, and the cannula is exposed outside of the accommodation cavity. The sheath encloses the cannula, and a bottom of the sheath is located in the accommodation cavity and provided with a first limiting structure. A second limiting structure cooperating with the first limiting structure is provided at a top of the accommodation cavity. An elastic element is provided in the accommodation cavity, and the elastic element abuts against a bottom end of the sheath. A top and a bottom of the base are provided with a first clamping structure and a second clamping structure, respectively. A third clamping structure cooperating with the first clamping structure and the second clamping structure is provided on the sheath.

Auto-injector

Auto-injector for administering a dose of a liquid medicament includes a housing to contain a syringe with a hollow needle and a stopper for sealing the syringe and displacing the medicament, the housing having a distal end and a proximal end with an orifice to apply against an injection site. A spring means, upon activation, can push the needle from inside the housing through the orifice and past the proximal end, operate the syringe to supply the dose of medicament, and retract the syringe with the needle after delivering the medicament. An activating means can lock the spring means in a pressurized state prior to manual operation and capable of, upon manual operation, releasing the spring means for injection.

Needle assisted injection device having reduced trigger force
