Flash Activated Passive Shielding Needle Assembly
A safety needle device includes a housing including a passageway with a needle cannula extending therefrom. A shielding member is movable between a first position in which a puncture tip of the needle cannula is exposed therefrom and a second position in which the puncture tip of the needle cannula is encompassed therein. The shielding member is maintained in the first position against a biasing force which biases the shielding member toward the second position. A fluid and/or a temperature activation material is associated with the shielding member and is adapted to deform upon contact with a fluid medium and/or a certain temperature or temperature range. The fluid medium flowing through the needle cannula causes the fluid activation material to deform, such as through expansion, thereby releasing the shielding member from the first position and allowing a drive member to bias the shielding member toward the second position.

The disclosure relates to a needle assembly adapted to couple with a medicament delivery device including a needle having a proximal tip and a distal tip, a needle hub coupled to the needle, a body adapted to engage the needle hub, a removable needle cap adapted to cover the distal tip, and a removable sealing element. The sealing element is adapted to seal an open proximal end of a compartment of the body, including the proximal tip, in such a manner that the proximal tip is housed in a sealed environment before use of the needle. The disclosure further relates to a medicament delivery device including such a needle assembly.
SELF SHEATHING ANESTHETIC NEEDLE WITH A DEDICATED SYRINGE
A self-sheathing injection assembly that includes a sheath protecting the medical professional from accidental punctures from the needle. The sheath is slidable to expose the end of the needle, and the sheath is lockable in the exposed condition with a detent mechanism. The separable needle assembly also includes features that firmly couples a carpule of medicine to the needle assembly, such that upon removal of the needle assembly after use the carpule remains attached to the needle for simultaneous disposal.

The invention relates to injection device, which device comprises an outer housing (1), a syringe body (10) and a needle shield (30). Both the syringe body (10) and the needle shield (30) are telescopically movable mounted to the housing (1) such that the needle shield (30) is movable relatively to the housing (1) between a first position and a second position, and the syringe body (10) is movable in relation to the housing (1) between an extended position and a retracted position.
Safety shield system for a single use flexible-type compression syringe, and injection device
A safety shield system (60) for a compression syringe (10) having a compressible reservoir (46), a needle cannula (12) for fluid communication with the reservoir (46) and having a forward tip (16), the safety shield system (60) having at least a holder shield portion (62) designed to be attached to the compression syringe (10), and a movable shield portion (64), designed to be movable relative to the compression syringe (10) from a first position wherein the tip (16) is exposed, to a second position wherein the movable shield portion (64) covers the tip (16). The holder shield portion (62) and movable shield portion (64) being provided with retainer (51, 52, 70) arranged to cooperate in the first position to prevent the movable shield portion (64) from moving toward its second position.
Variable length injection syringe
A syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel (12) having a proximal end and a distal end, a needle hub (20) supporting the needle and coupled to the distal end of the syringe barrel (12). A moveable shield (36) is included for sliding from a first position where the needle is exposed a first length, a second position where the needle is exposed a second length less than said first length, and a third position covering a distal end of the needle. A locking mechanism (48, 86) is included to retain the shield in the second position while enabling the shield to slide to the third position, and to lock the shield in the third position to prevent re-use of the syringe.
VARIABLE LENGTH INJECTION SYRINGE
A syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel (12) having a proximal end and a distal end, a needle hub (20) supporting the needle and coupled to the distal end of the syringe barrel (12). A moveable shield (36) is included for sliding from a first position where the needle is exposed a first length, a second position where the needle is exposed a second length less than said first length, and a third position covering a distal end of the needle. A locking mechanism (48, 86) is included to retain the shield in the second position while enabling the shield to slide to the third position, and to lock the shield in the third position to prevent re-use of the syringe.
SAFETY NEEDLE COVER LOCK FOR AN AUTOINJECTOR
A needle cover lock for an autoinjector includes a prefilled syringe with a needle. When a device cap is attached to the autoinjector, a deflection of a locking member of the autoinjector is prevented by a stop surface and by a blocking surface of the cap, and thereby the cover sleeve is prevented to exit an extended position. When the device cap with its blocking surface is removed from the autoinjector, the locking member is allowed to deflect, thereby allowing the needle cover sleeve to exit the extended position and to move towards a retracted position. The locking member is deflectable in a plane tangent to a circumferential outer surface of the cover sleeve when the device cap is removed.
INJECTION DEVICE
An injection device comprising a main housing, a drive mechanism for providing motive force to deliver medication, and a shield attached to a proximal end of the main housing, the shield being coupled to the drive mechanism so that inward movement of the shield causes release of the drive mechanism to provide said motive force, and the shield being biased towards an extended position. The injection device further comprises a plurality of sensors including an in-use sensor coupled between the main housing and the shield, and a monitoring and reporting unit electrically coupled to the sensors for monitoring use. In a lower power mode, the in-use sensor is monitored whilst the other sensors and components are inoperable and, in a higher power mode, the other sensors and components are operable. Upon detection by the in-use sensor of inward movement of the shield the monitoring and reporting unit is switched from the lower power mode to the higher power mode.
