NEEDLE CAPTURE SAFETY INTERLOCK FOR CATHETER
A catheter assembly comprising a catheter, a needle having a distal tip and disposed within the catheter, a catheter hub connected to the catheter having the needle passing therethrough, the catheter hub including a valve that selectively permits or blocks a flow of fluid through the catheter, and a valve actuator that moves between a first position and a second position to actuate the valve, an outer member that is configured to engage and disengage a catheter hub, and a needle protection member disposed in the outer member, the needle protection member encloses the distal tip of the needle when the valve actuator is in the second position.
Intravenous device assembly with needle guard
An intravenous (IV) device assembly may include a catheter adapter and a needle guard residing within a bore of the catheter adapter. The needle guard may include a needle formed through a guard bore. The guard bore may include a first internal diameter along a first bore portion and a second internal diameter, smaller than the first bore portion, along a second bore portion. A clip may be coupled to the exterior surface of the needle guard. The clip may include a first arm, which may include a first end guard, and a second arm, which may include a second end guard. The clip may be slidable distally along the exterior surface of the needle guard to move from an open configuration to a closed configuration, thereby blocking distal motion of the needle within the needle guard.
INTRAVENOUS CATHETER ASSEMBLY WITH SAFETY CLIP
A catheter assembly may include a catheter, catheter adapter, needle, needle guard, and housing. The housing may be coupled to the needle guard and disposed within a lumen of the catheter adapter. The needle guard may include first and second resilient arms, which may include first and second curved portions, respectively. When the needle is in a ready position, the first and second curved portions may be urged by a shaft of the needle into retaining contact with an inner wall of the catheter adapter. When the needle is in the retracted position, the shaft may no longer bias the first and second resilient arms outwardly such that the retaining contact between the first and second curved portions and the catheter adapter is released, and the housing and the needle guard enclose a distal tip of the needle.
Safety device for a hollow medical needle
Method, system and device involving a needle device with a needle safety element with improved stable structure. A frame can surround the needle safety element to provide added stiffening of the needle safety element. The frame can include stays extending laterally of the needle safety element. The needle safety element with the frame can be slidably located on a needle and in a catheter hub in a ready to use position and be removable from the catheter hub in a protective position.
Needle safety device and assembly
Safety intravenous catheters (IVCs) are disclosed herein having a catheter hub with a catheter tube, a needle with a needle hub, and a needle guard. The needle guard is configured to be positioned at least partially within an interior space of the catheter hub and is retained thereto by mechanical engagement between the two. Following removal of the needle from the catheter hub, the needle guard is configured to disengage from the catheter hub and attach over a tip of the needle to shield the needle tip from inadvertent needlesticks. The needle guard having an angled end section configured with a length and a width to retain the needle tip within a tip holding space behind the angled end section.

Safety needle devices and related methods
A needle safety device is disclosed in which a needle guard has several biasing arms that are biased by the needle shaft in a ready to use position. But in a protective position, at least one of the biasing arms is no longer biased by the needle shaft and moves to block a distal opening of the needle guard. The needle has a change in profile for engaging an opening on a proximal wall in a protective position. The needle guard may be formed from a stamped metal sheet having a plurality of cuts or clits. A catheter hub with a catheter tube can further be added for a safety catheter assembly.
Protective device for an injection needle
A protective device for an injection or infusion needle is provided comprising a needle hub at the proximal end of the needle, on whose shaft a protective member for the needle tip is displaceable, the protective member having an engaging section which engages with the needle shaft to prevent the protective member from being displaced beyond the needle tip, wherein the protective member is surrounded by a tube whose diameter is locally reduced or deformed such that the protective member is confined in the tube.
Huber Needle Assembly
A Huber needle assembly. The Huber needle assembly includes a housing, a Huber needle having a bent tip, a base through which the Huber needle is slidably disposed, a tip block mechanism, and a safety or restraint mechanism. The tip block mechanism includes a needle block slidably disposed within the base and urged by a spring to block the tip of the Huber needle when the tip of the Huber needle is retracted into the base. In one exemplary embodiment, the safety or restraint mechanism includes a cable having a first end anchored within the housing and a second end anchored within the base. The cable restrains movement of the housing relative to the base. In another exemplary embodiment, the safety or restraint mechanism includes a collar disposed within the base. The collar is configured to prevent passage of the bent tip of the Huber needle.
NEEDLE DEVICES WITH DUAL DIAMETER CANNULA AND RELATED METHODS
A needle device includes a catheter tube attached to a catheter hub, a needle attached to a needle hub, and a needle guard. The catheter hub has an interior cavity and a projection extending from an interior surface in the interior cavity. The needle projects through the catheter tube and has a needle tip extending out a distal end of the catheter tube in a ready position, a proximal end attached to a needle hub, and a shaft having a shaft diameter region, a reduced diameter region, and at least one transition region between the shaft diameter region and the reduced diameter region. The needle guard has a proximal wall and two arms extending distal the proximal wall. The two arms press against the shaft in the ready position and secure the needle tip in the protective position.
