The body further including an upper portion having a first gripping portion coupled thereto, a lower portion having a second gripping portion coupled to thereto, and a hinge mechanism. The needle having a needle tip configured to be received in the body. The hinge mechanism is configured to operably transition the body between a closed configuration and an open configuration. The closed configuration allowing at least a portion of the needle, including the needle tip, to extend below the bottom surface of the lower portion of the body. The open configuration allowing the needle tip to be securely received within the lower portion such that it does not extend below the bottom surface of the lower portion.
Passive Safety Huber Needle
A safety needle system includes a safety mechanism for a needle assembly, such as a Huber needle. A main body has a channel having a proximal end to encompass tubing and a distal end for positioning proximate a needle. The main body further has a first hinge mechanism and a first latching mechanism. A movable cover has needle receptacle, a second hinge mechanism connected with the first hinge mechanism of the main body, and a biasing member for pivoting movable cover about the first and second hinge mechanisms relative to the main body. The movable cover has a second latching mechanism to latch with the first latching mechanism in a closed position, in which the safety mechanism can be undocked from the needle and slid away from the needle along the tubing. The movable cover has a release mechanism to allow pivoting of the movable cover about the hinge mechanisms such that the needle receptacle of the movable cover at least partially receives the needle of the needle assembly in an open, locked position.
Syringe
The present invention provides a next-generation pre-filled syringe having a reduced number of components and requiring reduced costs and including a safety mechanism for preventing needlestick injuries. In the syringe of the present invention, elastic engagement members 11 of the cover 6 engage the injection needle 5 so as to prevent the injection needle 5 from being withdrawn from the elastic engagement members 11 of the cover in a retracted state toward the base end, and the elastic engagement members and injection needle are disengaged from each other as the elastic engagement members 11 are diametrically expanded/deformed. Further, the plunger 4 includes an integrated deformation-prevention part 41 covering the outer peripheries of the plurality of elastic engagement members 11 so as to prevent the elastic engagement members 11 and the injection needle 5 from being disengaged from each other as the elastic engagement members 11 are diametrically expanded/deformed.
Safety device for a medical needle
A safety device for shielding a medical needle, includes a hand grip element; a cannula held at the hand grip element; a base with laterally protruding, flat wings, the base having a guide opening which is spaced apart from the underside and in which the cannula is guided; and a connecting structure which connects the handle element with the base and includes two elongated sections connected in a row with one another by at least one joint and the connecting structure is connected at one end by at least one joint with the hand grip element and, at the other end, by at least one joint with the base, the elongated section of the connecting structure, which is connected with the base has a wall element which protrudes transversely at its base end, and the connecting structure can be unfolded from a first state into a second extended state.
Injection-needle cover
A injection-needle cover includes an injection needle enclosure portion, which has paired base-side wall portions, a cylinder portion, paired tip-end-side wall portions, an injection needle contact portion, a hook portion, and a needle tip end fixing portion. The injection needle contact portion is disposed at a position in a base-side axial space, which is a boundary between the base-side axial space and an intra-cylinder space. The injection needle contact portion has a force receiving portion and a connecting portion. The force receiving portion receives a force from the injection needle when the force receiving portion comes in contact with the injection needle. The force receiving portion has an easy sliding portion, which is disposed in an area adjacent to an injection needle, and slides more easily along the injection needle than a case where an edge slides along the injection needle.
Devices and methods for protecting a user from a sharp tip of a medical needle
There are disclosed devices and methods for protecting a user from a sharp tip of a medical needle. In an embodiment, a device includes a central body portion, a medical needle having a sharp tip, a pair of wings in attachment to the central body portion, and a hook-and-loop fastening system disposed on at least one of the wings, and configured to selectively attach the wings together with the medical needle positioned between the wings so as to protect a user from the sharp tip of the medical needle. In another embodiment, a method includes withdrawing a sharp tip of a medical needle from a patient, closing a pair of wings with the medical needle positioned between the wings, and fastening the wings together with the medical needle positioned between the wings so as to protect a user from the sharp tip of the medical needle.
SAFETY APPARATUS FOR MEDICAL NEEDLES
In a safety apparatus for medical needles, when leg portions are extended from a first folded position to a second extended position, a distal end of a needle is introduced into a space of a shield member connection hub, and a first blocking wall and a second blocking wall overlap so as to block the cross section of the space to form a double blocking wall and blocks the cross section of the space. The double blocking wall is capable of preventing the distal end of the needle from moving downward from the double blocking wall and preventing the distal end of the needle from being exposed to the outside of the apparatus.
Safety Needle Set For Delivering Fluid To An Access Port
A safety needle set for delivering fluid to an access port, the safety needle set having insertion and safety configurations. The safety needle set includes a needle assembly and a base assembly. The needle assembly includes a needle having a distal end with a non-coring tip, the distal end angled with respect to a proximal end of the needle. The needle assembly also includes a pair of foldable wings coupled to the needle, including a first wing and a second wing. The first wing may have a recess, and the second wing may have a protrusion, such that when the first wing contacts the second wing in a wing folded configuration, the recess receives the protrusion. The base assembly includes a housing, a safety needle assembly at least partially disposed in an interior of the housing, and an interface pad coupled to a bottom surface of the housing.
SAFETY SHIELD FOR AN INJECTION DEVICE
An injection device includes a housing defining a longitudinal axis and receiving a medicament container containing a medicament. The housing has a distal end which defines an opening for receiving a portion of a needle operably coupled with the medicament container. A safety shield surrounds at least a distal portion of the housing. The safety shield advances distally relative to the housing from a retracted position to a deployed position for shielding the needle. An advancement spring is arranged between the housing and the safety shield. The advancement spring advances the safety shield from the retracted position to the deployed position, and interlocks with the housing and the safety shield when the safety shield is in the deployed position to prevent return of the safety shield to the retracted position.
Microcartridge
A container for delivering a medicament to a target location includes a housing having a proximal end and a distal end, the housing including a cap locking tab at the distal end, and a vial containing the medicament. The container includes a plunger slidable within the vial from a proximal end to a distal end of the vial to dispel the medicament, an injection member associated with the distal end of the vial, such that the medicament dispelled from the vial passes through the injection member to the target location, and a slidable interaction member associated with the distal end of the vial configured to slide with the vial. An interaction between the slidable interaction member and the cap locking tab causes the cap locking tab to bias outward, and placement of a safety cap on the container after use locks the safety cap onto the container via an interaction with the cap locking tab.
