SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUS FOR SPINAL DEFORMITY CORRECTION
Bone anchors and related systems and methods for spinal deformity correction. In some implementations, two adjacent bone anchors may be advanced into respective, adjacent vertebral bodies of a spinal column. Cancellous bone may be compacted within respective inner chambers of the bone anchors. The inner chambers may comprise at least one of a plurality of bone engaging protrusions and a profile that increases in cross-sectional area, at least in part, from a proximal end of the inner chambers to a distal end of the inner chambers. A tether may then be coupled between the first and second bone anchors to apply a corrective force to at least a portion of the spinal column.
Revision connectors, systems and methods thereof
Connector assemblies, systems, and methods thereof. A connector has a first end that clamps to a first rod in an existing construct and a second end, connected to the first end, that clamps to a second rod in a new construct such that the new construct can be extended from the existing construct at an adjacent level as the existing construct.
Fusion systems and methods of assembly and use
The present invention discloses fusion systems and methods of assembly and use. The fusion systems include a first fastener, a second fastener, and an elongate member with a first end and a second end. The first end being secured to the first fastener and the second end being secure to the second fastener. The method of assembling a fusion system and methods of using the fusion systems are also disclosed.
MULTIPOINT FIXATION IMPLANTS
Bone anchor assemblies are disclosed herein that can provide for improved fixation as compared with traditional bone anchor assemblies. An exemplary assembly can include a bracket or wing that extends down from the receiver member and accommodates one or more auxiliary bone anchors that augment the fixation of the assembly's primary bone anchor. Another exemplary assembly can include a plate that is seated between the receiver member and the rod and accommodates one or more auxiliary bone anchors that augment the fixation of the assembly's primary bone anchor. Another exemplary assembly can include a hook that extends out from the receiver member to hook onto an anatomical structure or another implant to augment the fixation of the assembly's primary bone anchor. Surgical methods using the bone anchor assemblies described herein are also disclosed.
Coupling device, in particular for use in orthopedic surgery
A coupling device includes a first coupling body configured to be coupled to a first bone anchor, a second coupling body configured to be coupled a second bone anchor, and a connection device comprising a first connection member connectable to the first coupling body, a second connection member connectable to the second coupling body, and a length adjustment member positionable between and insertable at least partially into each of the first and second connection members. The first and second connection members are movable relative to the length adjustment member. The length adjustment member can be actuated in a first direction to increase a distance between the first connection member and the second connection member, and in a second direction different from the first direction to decrease the distance between the first connection member and the second connection member.
EXPANDABLE ARTICULATING INTERVERTEBRAL IMPLANT WITH LIMITED ARTICULATION
An artificial functional spinal unit including an expandable intervertebral implant that can be inserted via a posterior surgical approach and used with one or more facet replacement devices to provide an anatomically correct range of motion is described. Lordotic and non-lordotic expandable, articulating implants and cages are described, along with embodiments of facet replacement devices and instruments for insertion. Methods of insertion are also described.
SINGLE LEVEL FUSION SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF ASSEMBLY AND USE
The present invention discloses single level fusion systems and methods of use. The single level fusion systems include a first fastener, a second fastener, and a connector to secure the first fastener to the second fastener. The method of assembling a single level fusion system including obtaining a first fastener, a second fastener, and a connector, securing the first fastener to the connector, and securing the second fastener to the connector. Methods of using the single level fusion systems are also disclosed.
Pivotal bone anchor assembly with slidably movable retaining structure
A pivotal bone anchor assembly includes a shank having a head portion and an anchor portion for fixation to the bone of a patient, and a receiver comprising a base defining a lower portion of central bore and a pair of upright arms defining a channel for receiving an elongate rod. The assembly also includes a retaining structure with a central opening configured to capture and pivotally retain and support the head portion of the shank in the retaining structure, and which is slidably movable relative to the receiver so as to provide for increased articulated movement between the shank and the receiver prior to locking the assembly with the elongate rod and a closure. The assembly further includes an insert configured to engage the elongate rod and the head portion of the shank when in use, and to have an overlapping configuration with the retaining structure when the assembly is in the locked configuration.
LAMINOPLASTY PLATES, SYSTEMS, AND DEVICES, AND METHODS RELATING TO THE SAME
Disclosed are laminoplasty devices and systems, kits that include such laminoplasty devices or systems or components thereof; and methods of assembling and using such laminoplasty devices and systems. In particular, articulating laminoplasty devices are provided that allow lamina plates to be adjusted angularly and transitionally with respect to a cage connecting the lamina plates. Also provided are laminoplasty plates that are configured so as to be assembled with a bone graft housing, and which provide an opening configured to facilitate bone graft insertion into the housing. Further provided are expandable laminoplasty fixation systems that include a lateral mass plate, a lamina plate and a set screw that when screwed and unscrewed, allows one to contract and expand the plates with respect to one another.
