SPINAL DEFORMITY SEQUENTIAL PERSUADER
20210015525 · 2021-01-21 ·

A persuader instrument for advancing a fixation rod into a vertebral implant includes a housing and at least one arm. The at least one arm can include detents for detachable connection to the vertebral implant. The persuader instrument can also include a shaft coupled to an anchor. The anchor can include a fixation rod engagement surface. The shaft can be axially displaceable through the housing to axially displace the anchor and a rod engaged by the anchor. The persuader instrument can further include an auto-locking ratchet assembly in releasable engagement with the shaft. The auto-locking ratchet assembly can control axial displacement of the shaft through the longitudinal passage of the housing.

Extended Tab Systems For Reducing Spinal Rods

A rod reducer assembly is provided. The rod reducer includes a pedicle screw housing defining a rod-receiving passage therethrough. A tab is removably coupled to the pedicle screw housing by a frangible member. An extension is secured to the tab. The extension and the tab are separable from the pedicle screw housing upon application of a threshold force to the frangible member.

INSTRUMENTS FOR USE DURING SPINE SURGERY

Surgical instruments and devices including drivers, inserters, and reducers. The driver includes a ratcheting mechanism configured to provide uni-directional motion when engaged. The inserter includes a rack, pinion, and cam system designed to secure an implant and release an implant in-situ. The reducer includes a geared system for persuading together surgical components and aligning misaligned vertebrae.

INSTRUMENT FOR GUIDING A ROD INTO AN IMPLANT HOLDER
20200383706 · 2020-12-10 ·

An instrument for guiding a rod into a holder of an implant, in particular a pedicle screw, includes a coupling unit for coupling the instrument to the implant, in particular a head of the pedicle screw, a threaded rod that can be positioned in the axial direction relative to the coupling unit, and at least one internally threaded segment that is arranged in an axially fixed manner relative to the coupling unit, and can be positioned in a radial direction relative to the threaded rod, and prestressed toward the threaded rod by a prestressing element applying a radial force. The internally threaded segment can be brought into engagement with, and disengaged from, the male thread of the threaded rod by radial positioning. Thread flanks of the threaded rod and thread flanks of the internally threaded segment face each other and are each formed with an undercut.

MINIMALLY INVASIVE SPINAL FIXATION SYSTEM

This application describes surgical instruments and implants for building a posterior fixation construct across one or more segments of the spinal column. More specifically, the application describes instruments and methods for building a posterior fixation construct across one or more segments of the spinal column in a minimally invasive fashion.

Surgical instruments and methods

Various surgical instruments and their methods of use are disclosed. The surgical instruments are designed to provide tactile, auditory, and/or visual confirmation to the surgeon that the surgical instrument is being used appropriately and/or fully in accordance with a surgical procedure.

Bone anchor receiver with anti-splay tool attachment structure
10736673 · 2020-08-11 ·

A bone anchor receiver is configured for engagement by a tool having opposed receiver-engaging structures formed at a distal end, and includes a receiver body having a base and a pair of upright arms extending upwardly from the base to define an open channel for receiving a rod. The upright arms have interior surfaces and side outer faces opposite the interior surfaces, as well as a tool-engaging aperture formed into the side outer face of each upright arm that is spaced a distance below a top surface of the receiver. The tool-engaging apertures are configured to removably mate with the opposed tool receiver-engaging structures during engagement of the receiver by the distal end of the tool so as to resist inadvertent splay between the opposed tool receiver-engaging structures that would allow the tool distal end to become disengaged from the receiver body.
