Resorbable Self Tapping Screw
In one embodiment, the present disclosure relates to fastener for use in a bone. The fastener includes a head and a shaft extending from the head. The shaft includes a threaded surface. When the shaft is subject to less than a predetermined torque, a distal portion of the shaft has a first configuration. When the shaft is subject to the predetermined torque, a distal portion of the shaft has a second configuration with the second configuration being different from the first configuration.
PEDICLE SCREW SYSTEM WITH SINGLE PLANE MOTION AND AXIAL ROTATION
The present invention provides a pedicle screw, which includes a screw head, a screw body, a screw rod and a screw cap. The screw body includes a ball-liked arc-shaped buckle portion and a column-liked thread portion. The screw head includes a semi-sphere part with an arc-shaped dimple on one end and a U-shaped cavity on the other end. The U-shaped cavity connects with the arc-shaped dimple. Furthermore, the Arc-shaped dimple connects with the arc-shaped buckle portion. The Arc-shaped dimple includes an opening on its top to allow the screw body passing through. The U-shaped cavity includes an opening, which includes a female thread to fix the screw rod in the U-shaped cavity by a male thread on the screw cap.
COMPOSITE MATERIAL BONE IMPLANT
Radiolucent composite implants. Some embodiments include reconfiguration indicators. Some embodiments include radio-opaque markers, especially along contours. Some embodiments are provided in kit form with accessories such as radiolucent drill guides and/or drives. Some embodiments have fiber reinforcement adapted for various usage scenarios. Some embodiments include metal components, for example, to increase strength. Also described are manufacturing methods.
Multiple member interconnect for surgical instrument and absorbable screw fastener
An absorbable screw fastener and a method of firing with an applicator capable of applying a surgical fastener to tissue in order to form tissue connection to secure objects to tissue, the fastener including a body portion having a helical thread, a head portion disposed at the proximal end of the body portion. The head portion includes a driver receiving configuration on its outer surface. The screw fastener further includes a cannulated center lumen with an opening extending from the head portion through the longitudinal length of the body portion.
Method and apparatus for spinal stabilization
A method and apparatus of limiting at least one degree of movement between a superior vertebrae and an inferior vertebrae of a patient includes advancing a distal end of a stabilization device into a pedicle of the inferior vertebrae. A proximal portion of the stabilization device is positioned such that the proximal portion limits at least one degree of movement between a superior vertebrae and an inferior vertebrae by contacting a surface of the superior vertebrae.
REDUCTION TOOL
Systems, tools, and screws for reducing a bone fracture are disclosed. In embodiments, the system comprises: a screw, a driver, a sleeve comprising a longitudinal bore configured to enable insertion of the driver through the sleeve, a locking mechanism configurable into a first state that locks the sleeve to the driver and a second state that unlocks the sleeve from the driver, and a retaining sleeve coupled to a first end of the driver and configured to couple to the screw. In the first state, the sleeve applies a compressive force while distal threads of the screw are driven into the bone while retaining proximal threads of the screw in the sleeve. After a desired compression is achieved, the locking mechanism is configured to the second state, allowing the proximal threads of the screw to be driven into the bone while maintaining application of the compressive force to the bone.
PUSH-OFF DRIVER AND METHOD FOR INSERTING BONE SCREWS
A method and device for inserting screws into a patient, such that when the device is removed the device does not stick to the screw. The device, being a push-off driver, may have a handle, an inner driver, and a threaded driver sleeve having a button mechanism and a plurality of spheres, and an inner sleeve. The method includes the steps of assembling a push-off driver attaching a bone screw to the push-off driver inserting the bone screw and detaching the bone screw from the driver by unthreading the threaded driver sleeve from the polyaxial screw which causes the spheres in the recess of the inner driver to back up against the start of the recess and causing the threaded driver sleeve to push-off the polyaxial screw from the inner driver.
Local delivery device for targeted therapeutic effect
An embodiment herein provides a local delivery device for targeted therapeutic effect. Accordingly, the local delivery device comprises a cap preferably a hemispherical cap, a locking part and a shaft part, wherein the local delivery device can be of a centre tightened local delivery device or a periphery tightened delivery device, wherein the hemispherical cap comprises a screw driver slot at its centre or at its periphery. The locking part has its outer surface threaded and includes a canister to accommodate the desired agent for delivery or can be made of substance intended with or without additives and bases. The locking part may be attached to the hemispherical cap. The shaft part includes unthreaded or threaded configuration and attached to the locking part. A locking hole provides an aperture to introduce the local delivery device to the plate or other implants of choice and bone underneath.
Stand-alone fusion implant secured by in-line fixation
Stand alone fusion cage assemblies that can be secured to the adjacent vertebral bodies via an in-line approach that is substantially perpendicular to the anterior wall of the stand alone cage (or substantially parallel to the cage insertion direction).
SELF-HOLDING SCREW HEAD
A screw insertion system has a screw having a threaded shaft and a head. The head has a conically tapered outer surface, the taper increasing in distance from a central longitudinal axis of the screw from a free end of the head towards a larger diameter adjacent the connection between the head and the threaded shaft. The conically tapered head outer surface has preferably two helically extending partially rounded threads. The head has a drive element for engaging a driver. A tubular screw holder has an outer surface and internal bore extending between a leading end and a trailing end for receiving the screw. The leading end having a conically tapered inner threaded portion for engaging the conically tapered outer thread of the screw head. The tubular screw holder outer surface having a diameter less than or equal to the maximum diameter of the conically tapered head.
