Expandable intervertebral implants and methods of installation thereof

Embodiments herein are generally directed to expandable spinal implants, systems, apparatuses, and components thereof that can be used in spinal fusion and/or stabilization procedures, as well as methods of installation. The expandable spinal implants may be configured for lateral insertion.

TRIAL NECK PIECE FOR A JOINT ENDOPROSTHESIS

A trial neck piece for a joint endoprosthesis is designed for temporary arrangement on a separate shaft body (60) that is insertable into a tubular bone (9). It comprises a fastening region (12) which can be plugged temporarily onto a head part (61) of the shaft body (60) by means of a plug connection (l l), and a neck region (IO) for receiving a joint element (19) of the joint endoprosthesis. The trial neck piece (I) is designed as a separate, plug-on attachment piece which, with its fastening region (12), can be plugged with form-fit engagement onto the head part (61) and locked. A latching device (2) is provided which comprises a plurality of latching stages for different height stages of the trial neck piece (I). The invention thus makes available an easily attachable trial neck piece which can be arranged in a defined manner in different height positions in order, on the one hand, to obtain a secure and defined arrangement and, on the other hand, to permit the setting of different heights. The invention further relates to an arrangement with a trial neck piece and with an excavating tool, in particular a reamer, and to an instrument set comprising a trial neck piece and an insertion instrument.

SPINAL DISTRACTION SYSTEM

A spinal distraction system, according to one aspect, includes an adjustable spinal distraction rod comprising first and second members, the adjustable spinal distraction rod configured for non-invasive elongation of the first and second members. The system includes an anchor rod configured for mounting to a bone of a subject, the anchor rod having one or more spring-biased tabs disposed at one end thereof, and a connector having first end and a second end, the first end having a receiving cup configured for detachable mounting on the anchor rod, wherein the one or more spring-biased tabs are configured to engage with an inner surface of the receiving cup, the connector having a second end operatively coupled to an end of a first member and wherein the second member is configured for mounting to a second bone of a subject.

Flanged interbody fusion device

Methods and devices are disclosed for treating the vertebral column. An implant for treating the spine is provided comprising at least two articulations between the spacer and the bone facing surface of the fixation plate. Another implant for treating the spine is also provided, comprising two or more fixation plates attached to a spacer with two or more articulations, wherein the fixation plates are independently movable.

Steerable implant assembly

A steerable expandable implant including a base member, an adjustable member coupled to the base member, the adjustable member movable between a collapsed position and an expanded position, a pivot member rotatably received by the base member and configured to receive a tool such that the tool and the pivot member are rotatable relative to the base member between a first position and a second position, wherein the pivot member is translationally fixed relative to the base member, and a first control member received by the base member, wherein manipulation of the first control member causes the adjustable member to move between the collapsed position and the expanded position.

Orthopaedic fixation assembly, system, and method of use

An orthopaedic fixation assembly for prosthetic biologic attachment. The orthopaedic fixation assembly may include a main body with a longitudinally-extending stem having a proximal end, a distal end, and a cavity body. An anchor plug may be configured to be received within the stem cavity, and securable thereto via complementary mating surfaces. A spindle structure may be fixedly attached to the proximal end of the longitudinally-extending stem and protrude outwardly therefrom such that a portion of the structure extends externally beyond the resected cavity of the bone that may prevent rotational motion of the spindle. The spindle structure may have at least one compliant biasing member configured to apply a compressive force to the surrounding bone. A porous coating may be at the juncture between stem and spindle structure, on the spindle, and the splines and anti-rotation chocks, improving the initial stability of the implant and facilitating long-term bone ingrowth.

Interbody with extendible members

An interbody at least one surface including a plurality of members that are independently configured and dimensioned to move from a first position to a second position is disclosed.
