A spinal implant includes a chassis extending along a first axis and including a first thread. A first member extends along a second axis and is pivotably coupled to the chassis. A second member extends along a third axis between and is pivotably coupled to the chassis. A rack includes opposite top and bottom surfaces. A first spur is coupled to the first member such that the first spur engages the top surface. A second spur is coupled to the second member such that the second spur engages the bottom surface. An actuator includes second thread that engages the first thread such that rotation of the actuator move the implant between a first orientation in which the second and third axes extend parallel to the first axis and a second orientation in which the second and third axes extends at an acute angle relative to the first axis.

Modular variable blade augment

A modular variable blade augment including an augment component and a blade component. The blade component includes a buttress portion and a neck portion, with the neck portion having a body segment and a face segment that is contoured for mating engagement with an outer surface of the acetabular shell. The augment component has a first opening sized and shaped to receive insertion of the body segment, and which is also sized to accommodate selective adjustment of linear and angular orientations of the blade component relative to the augment component when the body segment is positioned in the first opening. Additionally, the body segment has a length that is sized to facilitate direct contact of the face segment with the acetabular shell when the modular variable blade augment is in an assembled configuration. Further, cement can be injected into the internal cavity to unitize the connection between the acetabular shell and the blade component.

Elbow prosthesis

An elbow prosthesis according to the present teachings can include a stem structure and an articulating component. The stem structure can be operable to be positioned in a bone of a joint. The stem structure can include a stem portion that is operable to be positioned in the bone and a C-shaped body portion having a first retaining mechanism formed thereon. The articulating component can have a second retaining mechanism formed thereon. One of the first and second retaining mechanisms can comprise an extension portion and a first anti-rotation portion. The other retaining mechanism can comprise a receiving portion and a second anti-rotation portion. The articulating component can be advanced from an insertion position to an assembled position, such that the first and second mechanisms cooperatively interlock to inhibit translation and rotation of the articulating component relative to the C-shaped body portion of the stem structure.

Humeral head implant system

A humeral head implant system includes a head component including a first articulating surface, a second bottom surface extending from the first spherical articulating surface, a first cavity extending a first distance into the head component from the second bottom surface, and a second cavity extending into the head component along a cavity axis. The head component defines a head axis extending through a center of the first articulating surface parallel to the cavity axis. A base component defines a slot extending from a first width to a second width. An insert component includes an insert body, a first engagement feature, and a slot engagement feature. The first engagement feature is received in the second cavity along the cavity axis. The insert body has an insert thickness less than the first distance, and the slot engagement feature slides into the slot in a direction transverse to the cavity axis.

The present disclosure relates to an expandable interbody that includes superior and inferior shells enclosing a control mechanism that includes interlocking proximal and distal cages as well as an adjustment screw that longitudinally translates the distal cage relative to the proximal cage and thereby expands interbody by pushing apart the distal ends of the superior and inferior shells.

Angularly adjustable intervertebral cages with integrated ratchet assembly

The embodiments provide various interbody fusion spacers, or cages, for insertion between adjacent vertebrae. The cages may have integrated ratchet assemblies that allow the cage to change size and angle as needed, with little effort. The cages may have a first, insertion configuration characterized by a reduced size to facilitate insertion through a narrow access passage and into the intervertebral space. The cages may be inserted in a first, reduced size and then expanded to a second, larger size once implanted. In their second configuration, the cages are able to maintain the proper disc height and stabilize the spine by restoring sagittal balance and alignment. Additionally, the intervertebral cages are configured to be able to adjust the angle of lordosis, and can accommodate larger lordotic angles in their second, expanded configuration. Further, these cages may promote fusion to further enhance spine stability by immobilizing the adjacent vertebral bodies.

Adjustable trial for sizing a spinal implant

An adjustable trial for spinal implant sizing. The trial has a first and second plate that is adjustable between zero and degrees by use of continuously sloped edges that interface with a positioning band having reciprocal sloped edges. Protrusions are attached to each plate and the positioning band, the rotation of which is used to change the angle of the plates. A tool used to rotate the protrusions is marked with the angle of movement.

Steerable spine implants

A spine implant (e.g., for a TLIF surgical procedure) is configured to be steered into place during implantation in conjunction with a complementary insertion instrument. The cage of the implant is constrained to a limited range of rotation about a post carried by the cage. The insertion instrument is configured to hold the post while controllably rotating the cage relative to the post in order to angularly position the implant during implantation. Range of rotational motion is controlled by the configuration of a groove in the post. A retaining pin of the implant extends from the cage into the groove of the post to rotationally connect the cage to the post.

An expandable implant (100, 150, 160, 200, 250, 300, 400) has a base (10) and a displaceable element (12) hingedly interconnected at one end. At the other end, the base and the displaceable element are formed with complementary jaws (24, 26) which provide continuous overlap of facing surfaces over a range of angular positions of the displaceable element relative to said base. In some cases, the first end portion (16) of the displaceable element (12) is formed with projecting teeth (28) forming a partial gear centered on an axis (18) of the hinged interconnection with the base (12) for engaging a worm gear. In certain embodiments, the base is formed with a socket (30) for removably receiving a worm gear tool (32) for engaging the teeth (28) and displacing said displaceable element. After expansion, the worm-gear tool (32) can be removed.
