A drug delivery device including: a body and a movable component arranged inside the body, a dosage selection and injection mechanism setting the position of the movable component inside the body depending on a selected dosage, a non-contact sensor configured to output signals indicative of the position of the movable component inside the body, and a processor. The processor is configured to receive the signals output from the non-contact sensor and to determine based on the signals whether the movable component is either in an initial position inside the body corresponding to no selected dosage or in a selected dosage position. Upon determining that the movable component has changed its position back from the selected dosage position to the initial position, the processor is configured to cause an indication to be output which informs a user regarding a dwell time of the drug delivery device.

Pen-type injector

The present invention relates to injectors, such as pen-type injectors, that provide for administration of medicinal products from a multidose-cartridge and permit a user to set the delivery dose. The injector may include a housing, a piston rod adapted to operate through the housing, a dose dial sleeve located between the housing and the piston rod, and a drive sleeve located between the dose dial sleeve and the piston rod. The dose dial sleeve may have a helical thread of first lead and the drive sleeve may have a helical groove of second lead. The first lead of the helical thread and the second lead of the helical groove may be the same.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE WITH ELECTRONIC SYSTEM

An electronic system for a drug delivery device is disclosed. The electronic system comprises a dose setting and drive mechanism. The dose setting and drive mechanism comprises a first member and a button module. The dose setting and drive mechanism is configured such that, at least in the dose delivery operation and/or in the dose setting operation, the first member moves relative to the button module. The electronic system has at least a first low power consumption state and a second high power consumption state. A rotation and/or axial movement of the button module relative to the first member generates a movement component of the at least one switch member relative to the button module and the first member, which triggers switching between the first low power consumption state and the second high power consumption state.

Assembly for a medication delivery device and medication delivery device

An assembly (47) for a medication delivery device (1) has a body (2), a dose setting part (8) configured to be operated by a user for selecting a size of a dose, a piston rod (13) configured to be moved axially without rotating for dispensing a medication, and a drive member (12) being directly coupled to the piston rod (13) for driving the piston rod (13) in a dose dispensing operation, wherein the drive member (12) moves in a proximal direction in a dose setting operation. The medication delivery device (1) into which the assembly is incorporated may be a single-shot, variable-dose injection device, e.g., a syringe.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING A DOSE

The present disclosure refers to a drug delivery device including, a dose setting and/or drive mechanism including a stationary housing having at least one internal groove on an inner surface; a driver positioned within the housing which is moveable relative to the housing during dose dialing and which is moveable relative to the housing during dose dispensing; and at least one flexible tab that is biased to engage the at least one internal groove such that the at least one flexible tab repeatedly engages and disengages the at least one internal groove during dose dialing or during dose dispensing, thereby performing an oscillating movement between two positions including a first position in which the at least one flexible tab engages the at least one internal groove and a second position in which the at least one flexible tab is disengaged from the at least one internal groove.

Medication delivery device with sensing system

Medication delivery devices are provided having a dose delivery sensing capability. A sensed element is attached to a dose setting member of the device. The sensed element includes surface features radially-spaced from one another. A rotational sensor is attached to an actuator of the device. The rotational sensor includes a movable element that is contactable against the surface features. The rotational sensor is configured to generate a signal in response to the movement of the movable element over the surface features during their rotation. A controller is operatively coupled to the rotational sensor, and in response to receiving the generated signal, the controller is configured to determine a number of the surface features passing the movable element of the rotational sensor during dose delivery. The number can be associated with an amount of dose delivered. Sensing can be provided in a module or integrated in device.
