A fluid extraction device is provided for extracting fluid from a syringe assembly including a syringe port and a sleeve. The device includes a body with first and second ends, the first end defining a fluid entry port, and the second end defining a fluid exit port. A channel through the body connects the fluid entry and fluid exit ports. At least one push member extends radially from the body and is configured to contact the sleeve of the syringe assembly in use such to push it from a first position in which the sleeve closes the syringe port to a second position in which the sleeve exposes the syringe port.

Combined medical device with sliding frontal attachment and retractable needle

A medical device having a frontal attachment and a connector housing having at least a body part of an associated medical apparatus, the frontal attachment slidably engaging the connector housing and having a forwardly projecting, rearwardly biased needle and a needle retraction assembly, and the connector housing having a needle retraction cavity laterally offset from the needle in a first position, the needle retraction cavity being selectively movable relative to the frontal attachment following use to reposition the needle retraction cavity into alignment with the needle to permit retraction.

Frontal attachment device for syringe with pinch-activated needle retraction

A retractable needle device attachable to the front of a fluid collection or infusion device such as a syringe, the retractable needle device comprising a housing having an engagement member, a slide support surface, a retraction cavity and a first pinch surface; a needle; a needle alignment member comprising a needle tube and a second pinch surface; and a needle retraction mechanism positioned within the needle tube and configured to bias the needle rearwardly; wherein the first and second pinch surfaces are configured so that a pinching force applied to them will cause relative lateral movement between the housing and needle alignment member. This translational movement from an injection position, wherein the needle is aligned with the syringe connector, to a retraction position, wherein the needle is aligned with the retraction cavity, allows the needle retraction mechanism to force the needle into the retraction cavity.

Embodiments of a retractable syringe assembly are provided that include a single syringe barrel configuration and dual syringe barrel configuration. In one or more embodiments, the assemblies include a barrel having a dividing wall to divide the chamber to define a fluid chamber having a first cross-sectional width for retaining fluid and a needle chamber for housing a needle hub assembly. The assemblies include a projection extending radially outwardly from the plunger rod to interact with a ramped portion of the dividing wall to cause the needle cannula to retract and be housed within the needle chamber.

Dual Chamber Syringe With Retractable Needle

Embodiments of a retractable syringe assembly are provided that include a dual syringe barrel configuration. One or more embodiments include reuse prevention features and features that prevent premature activation of the retraction mechanism. Methods for aspirating and expelling liquid from medical devices are also provided.

Syringe with flat indicia display surface

A medical syringe having a barrel with a substantially cylindrical, longitudinally extending fluid chamber, a needle retraction cavity substantially coextensive in length with the fluid chamber and disposed adjacent and parallel to the fluid chamber, and at least one substantially flat, outwardly facing display area configured to receive and display an array of volumetric measuring indicia in alignment with and proximal to the fluid chamber.

A medical device is disclosed as having a body comprising an open-ended fluid flow chamber and a laterally offset needle retraction chamber. A frontal attachment that includes a forwardly projecting needle support is slidably coupled to the body. A retractable needle assembly comprising a needle holder, a retraction spring rearwardly biasing the needle holder against the forwardly projecting needle support, and a needle extending forwardly from the forwardly projecting needle support is carried by the frontal attachment, which is laterally slidable with respect to the body from a first position in which the needle is aligned and in fluid communication with the open-ended fluid flow chamber to a second position in which the needle is aligned with the needle retraction chamber to initiate retraction of the needle holder and the needle into the needle retraction chamber.
