Medicament delivery device

The present invention relates to a medicament delivery device comprising a housing (10), which housing is arranged to accommodate a medicament container (20); a power unit (88) comprising: a drive force element (98), an actuation unit (90, 102) operably connected to said drive force element (98); which actuation unit (90, 102) is movable, upon activation of said drive force element (98), for expelling a dose of medicament from said medicament container (20); a monitoring unit (130) provided with an electrical power source (140) for operating said monitoring unit (130). The invention is characterised in that the medicament delivery device further comprises an activation element (160) operably connected to said actuation unit (90, 102), to said monitoring unit (130) and to said electrical power source (140), wherein said activation element (160) is arranged to allow connection between said electrical power source (140) and said monitoring unit (130) when said actuation unit (98, 102) is moved.

AUTOINJECTOR

An autoinjector basically includes a housing, a pre-filled syringe, a drive chassis, and a needle guard. The pre-filled syringe is mounted in the housing. The drive chassis is configured to move a plunger in the pre-filled syringe to dispense medicament via an urging force from a drive spring. The needle guard is moveable in the housing between a storage state, a dispensing state, and a lock-out state. The needle guard is biased towards an extended position by a lock-out spring. The needle guard selectively engages the housing to establish a frontmost position of the needle guard in the storage state, and an offset position of the needle guard in the lock-out state. The offset position is axially offset from the frontmost position in the distal direction.

AUTOMATIC INJECTOR WITH NEEDLE COVER

An auto-injector automatically dispenses a predetermined dose of medicament upon activation. The auto-injector includes a needle cover operative to engage an injection site and activate the injector. The needle cover is configured to move from a locked retracted position prior to a medicament dispensing operation to a locked extended position after the medicament dispensing operation. The non-removable needle cover prevents contact with the needle both before and after the medicament dispensing operation.

Palm activated drug delivery device

Disclosed is a device for the parenteral delivery of a medication, such as a drug. The device includes upper and lower housings in which the upper housing is configured to move relative to the lower housing as a result of application of an external force to permit the user of the device to control the rate at which the drug is administered.

AUTO-INJECTOR WITH ACTIVE AGENT CONTAINER LATCHING

In an elongated casing, an active agent container connected to an injection needle can be shifted axially by a spring force. Auto-injectors distributed pre-filled and with the springs tensed may be provided with a needle protecting cap to ensure sterility of the needle. When the needle protecting cap is removed as preparation for using the auto-injector, a tensile force can be exerted on the active agent container. Therefore, the active agent container and needle must be prevented from being undesirably pulled forwards. At least one latching tongue prevents the active agent container from being prematurely shifted with respect to the casing, by abutting a flange arranged on a sliding sleeve accommodating the active agent container. When the auto-injector is placed onto the skin, a needle protecting tube is shifted into the casing, forcing the latching tongue away from the flange, thereby freeing the travel path for needle movement.

IMPROVED INJECTION DEVICE

An injection device is presented having an outer housing configured to receive a syringe, the syringe containing medicament, a movable stopper, and a needle. A plunger rod moves the stopper and a needle shield moves relative to the outer housing between a needle covering position and a needle exposing position, where the needle exposing position is axially rearward of the needle covering position. The needle shield is biased axially forwardly toward the needle covering position. A locking member is axially moveable in the outer housing from a first axial position to a second axial position in response to forward axial movement of the plunger rod. A locking sleeve is axially movable relative to the outer housing between a non-locking position and a locking position, the locking position being axially rearward of the non-locking position, in which axial movement of the locking sleeve is selectively limited by the locking member when in the second axial position.

AUTOMATICALLY RETRACTING SAFETY NEEDLE ASSEMBLY

An automatically retracting safety needle assembly configured to receive a syringe. The assembly has distal and proximal ends, and comprises: a housing, with internal housing (IH), and a base wall. A moving sleeve (MOS): at least partially within the IH; having a flange wall; axially movable. A biasing element (BE), within the IH, biasing the MOS proximally. A syringe, receiving a plunger rod; movable axially within the IH, and coupled to the MOS. An activation fork (AF), partially disposed within the IH. AF has a guiding arm coupled with the IH and the MOS; preventing motion of the MOS during non-deployment state. An automatic retraction mechanism, retracting the syringe after injection. Deployment: advance plunger rod and the AF axially (distally), until AF guiding arm allows proximal movement of the MOS, retracting the syringe. Distal advancement of plunger rod is constant without an abrupt increase in resistive force; allowing safe disposal.

A drug delivery device comprises a housing adapted to receive a medicament container, a plunger and a plunger release mechanism that comprises a first plunger boss arranged on the plunger, a profiled slot arranged on the housing and adapted to be engaged by the first plunger boss so as to inhibit movement of the plunger in a distal direction. The plunger is rotatable about a longitudinal axis to release the first plunger boss from the profiled slot so as to allow movement of the plunger in the distal direction. A sleeve is coupled to the housing to permit movement of the sleeve relative to the housing. A sleeve ramp is arranged on the sleeve and adapted to engage a rib or boss on the plunger to rotate the plunger to release the first plunger boss from the profiled slot when the sleeve is moved in a proximal direction.
