The proximal shield (30) comprises a first surface (31) facing towards the longitudinal axis (12) and a second surface (32) facing away from the longitudinal axis (12). The medicament delivery member hub (70) comprises a third surface (73) facing away from the longitudinal axis (12) and the distal shield (50) comprises a fourth surface (54) facing towards the longitudinal axis. The proximal shield (30) is moveable in the axial direction (13) relative to the distal shield (50) from a proximal position to a distal position.
Rotational locking type safety insulin pen needle
A rotational locking type safety insulin pen needle comprises a needle body, intermediate shield, front shield and a spring, wherein the intermediate shield has a rotating tube with a beveled rail on the outer edge; the front shield has a bevel acting part on the inner edge; the rotating tube has an elastic arm in the front with a front protection stopper; relative to the front protection stopper, the front shield has a guiding and a limit slot at intervals along the circumferential direction. The backward movement of the front shield when the needle is pushed to drive the rotation of the rotating tube and uses the coordination of the front protection stopper on the rotating tube with the guiding and limit slot on the front shield to change the coordination relationship between the front shield and the rotating tube, which provides the reliable locking protection of the front shield.
Pen needle assembly for preventing under-torquing and over-torquing of pen needle
A pen needle hub and cover for a pen needle assembly that provides tactile and/or audible indicia of proper attachment between the hub of the pen needle and the pen is provided. Such indicia substantially prevent under- and over-torquing of the pen needle. The tactile indicia may include a user sensing a wave of a torque of peak value followed by a torque of lesser value.
PEN NEEDLE TIP AND METHOD OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
A needle tip assembly for a pre-loaded syringe or a pen needle injection device, wherein the needle tip assembly comprises a needle mounted to a needle support and comprising a first puncturing end projecting from a front side of the needle support and a second puncturing end projecting from a rear side of the needle support. A body is sized and configured to receive therein the needle support and the needle. The body comprises a front portion, a rear portion, and an overall axial length that is greater than an axial length of the needle. Prior to the needle tip assembly being in an installed condition on the pre-loaded syringe or the pen needle injection device, each of the front portion covers the first puncturing end and the rear portion covers the second puncturing end. Prior to removal from the pre-loaded syringe or the pen needle injection device, the body is at least axially movably relative to the needle support to a position the front portion covers the first puncturing end.
System and method for ergonomic needle protector
Provided is a system and method for an ergonomic needle protector. More specifically, provided is an ergonomic needle protector for a needle having a first curvature. The ergonomic needle protector has a flexible body having a first end and a second end, and an internal channel extending from the first end towards the second end. The flexible body is formed of a resilient material structured and arranged to return to a curved state along the length of the flexible body according to a second curvature different from the first curvature of the needle. The internal channel is structured and arranged to receive the needle when the flexible body is deformed to conform the internal channel to the first curvature and frictionally bind against the needle when the flexible body is released back to the second curvature. An associated method of use is also provided.
Dose measurement systems and methods
Embodiments described herein generally relate to devices, systems and methods for measuring a volume or number of doses remaining in a drug delivery device that is used for delivering a dose to a patient. In some embodiments, a dose measurement system for measuring the liquid volume in a container includes a light guide disposed and configured to reflect electromagnetic radiation toward the container. The dose measurement system also includes a light guide disposed and configured to emit electromagnetic radiation into the light guide. A plurality of sensors are located in the apparatus that are optically coupleable to the light guide and are disposed and configured to detect the electromagnetic radiation emitted by at least a portion of the light guide. The apparatus also includes a processing unit configured to receive data representing the portion of the detected electromagnetic radiation from each of the plurality of sensors. The processing unit is further operable to convert the received data into a signature representative of the electromagnetic radiation detected by the plurality of sensors.
Needle Shield Remover and a Medicament Delivery Device Comprising the Needle Shield Remover
A needle shield remover for assembly with a cap of a medicament delivery device, wherein the needle shield remover comprises a longitudinally elongated tubular body (10, 10, 10) having a plurality of structural features, wherein said plurality of structural features are symmetrically disposed on the tubular body (10, 10, 10), in relation to a plane of symmetry which is perpendicular to a longitudinal axis.
Injection device
The present disclosure relates to an injection device including: a housing; a carrier disposed within the housing for holding a syringe that has a needle at one end; a needle sleeve located within the housing and being axially moveable with respect to the housing between an extended position and a retracted position; a biasing element configured to bias the needle sleeve towards the extended position; and a locking mechanism configured to lock the needle sleeve in the extended position after use of the injection device, the locking mechanism comprising; a first locking member provided on and projecting from the carrier; and a second locking member comprising a deflectable arm provided on the needle sleeve and moveable between a relaxed position and a deflected position.
NEEDLE SAFETY DEVICE
A needle safety device comprises (a) an elongated hub portion with a longitudinal axis that comprises a cannula, (b) a tubular protection element that is movable along the longitudinal axis relative to the hub portion, wherein the protection element comprises a contact surface for establishing pressure contact with an injection area, (c) a tubular separable element comprising at least two locking parts and (d) a spring element which biases the protection element such that the contact surface is further spaced apart from the hub portion along the longitudinal axis than the tip of the cannula. The protection element is configured to move into an injection position, wherein the separable element separates into the locking parts when the contact surface is released from contact with the injection area. The separated locking parts block the protection element from returning into the injection position when the protection element has moved to a final position.
