MEDICAMENT DEVICE FOR USE WITH A CONVENTIONAL SYRINGE
The novel devices comprise a housing that preferably contains a preloaded, conventional syringe with medication. Both trained and untrained users may administer an injection safely and conveniently to themselves or others in myriad settings. The disclosed devices rely on the user's manual action to insert the needle. Only after the needle is fully inserted is the medicament delivered, resulting in a safer injection. After use, the devices include a locking mechanism that locks a spring-loaded sheath in place around the needle for protection. As a common syringe is utilized, engineering and production issues of automatic injectors' custom syringe assemblies are avoided.
DOSE MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Embodiments described herein generally relate to devices, systems and methods for measuring a volume or number of doses remaining in a drug delivery device that is used for delivering a dose to a patient. In some embodiments, a dose measurement system for measuring the liquid volume in a container includes a light guide disposed and configured to reflect electromagnetic radiation toward the container. The dose measurement system also includes a light guide disposed and configured to emit electromagnetic radiation into the light guide. A plurality of sensors are located in the apparatus that are optically coupleable to the light guide and are disposed and configured to detect the electromagnetic radiation emitted by at least a portion of the light guide. The apparatus also includes a processing unit configured to receive data representing the portion of the detected electromagnetic radiation from each of the plurality of sensors. The processing unit is further operable to convert the received data into a signature representative of the electromagnetic radiation detected by the plurality of sensors.
NEEDLE ASSEMBLY WITH NEEDLE SHROUD AND MOVABLE NEEDLE SUPPORT
According to the invention there is provided a needle assembly for mounting on an injection device. The needle assembly comprises a body configured to be removably attached to an injection device in use; a double ended needle supported by the body and extending from a forward tip to a rearward tip; and a needle shield coupled to the body. The needle shield is arranged for relative axial movement with respect to the body. The needle assembly has an injection configuration, in which the shield is positioned such that the forward tip of the needle projects beyond a forward end of the shield. The needle assembly also has a shroud configuration, in which the shield is positioned such that the forward end of the shield extends beyond the forward tip of the needle. The needle assembly further comprises a needle support fixed to the needle. The needle support is captive between the body and the shield. The needle support is fixed relative to the body when the needle assembly is in the injection configuration. Movement of the shield from the injection configuration to the shroud configuration axially displaces the needle support relative to the body.
Detachable needle protection cap for injection devices
The invention relates to a detachable needle protection cap for injection devices and to a method for producing same. The detachable needle protection cap comprises a housing and at least two shell parts which can be attached to an outer surface of the housing, the shell parts being fastened to an outer surface of the housing. The shell parts can mutually prevent removal of the shell parts.
Injection Device
The present disclosure relates to an injection device including: a housing; a carrier disposed within the housing for holding a syringe that has a needle at one end; a needle sleeve located within the housing and being axially moveable with respect to the housing between an extended position and a retracted position; a biasing element configured to bias the needle sleeve towards the extended position; and a locking mechanism configured to lock the needle sleeve in the extended position after use of the injection device, the locking mechanism comprising; a first locking member provided on and projecting from the carrier; and a second locking member comprising a deflectable arm provided on the needle sleeve and moveable between a relaxed position and a deflected position.
Medical agent dispensing systems, methods, and apparatuses
A medical agent delivery device may comprise a collapsible reservoir and a base portion including at least one microneedle on a first face and on an opposing second face. Each microneedle on the first face may fluidically communicate with a microneedle on the second face. The device may further comprise an elastomeric housing attached to the first face. The reservoir and the at least one microneedle on the first face of the base portion may be within the elastomeric housing. The device may further comprise a displaceable spacer having a first position in which the spacer supports the reservoir in spaced relation to the at least one microneedle on the first side of the base portion. When the spacer is in a second position, the elastomeric housing may be configured to press the reservoir into the at least one microneedle on the first side of the base portion.
SAFETY NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
A safety needle assembly, including a hub; a needle fixed to the hub, the needle having a distal end and a proximal end; first and second shields, each having a tubular body at least partially encircling a portion of the needle, wherein in an initial state, the first shield extends from the hub; a biasing element disposed to urge the second shield distally toward the distal end of the needle; and a releasable retaining arrangement for releasably retaining the second shield in a first state. Upon a predetermined extent of proximal movement of the first shield relative to the hub, the second shield is released, thereby allowing the biasing element to urge the second shield to a second state in which the distal end of the needle is covered.

INTELLIGENT MEDICATION DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems, devices, and techniques are disclosed for administering and tracking medicine to patients and providing health management capabilities for patients and caregivers. In some aspects, a system includes an injection pen device including a dose setting mechanism, a dispensing mechanism, and an electronics unit to generate dose data associated with a dispensing event of a dose of the medicine dispensed from the injection pen device and time data associated with the dispensing event; a mobile device in wireless communication to receive and process the dose data; and a software application configured to determine a recommended dose based on health data and contextual data associated with a user of the injection pen device, the software application including a learning dose calculator module to adaptively calculate the recommended dose of the medicine based on time-relevant and circumstances-relevant data specific to the user of the injection pen device.
Active safety pen needle assembly
The subject invention provides a safety pen needle assembly which includes: a hub; a needle carrier; a needle fixed to the needle carrier; a shield; and, a first engageable locking arrangement for fixing the shield to the needle carrier. Upon a predetermined extent of distal movement of the shield relative to the hub, the first locking arrangement is engaged such that the shield becomes fixed to the needle carrier. Upon further distal movement of the shield relative to the hub beyond the predetermined extent of distal movement, the shield and the needle carrier move in concert together relative to the hub causing a proximal end of the needle to move distally relative to the hub to a retracted state. Advantageously, the subject invention provides a reliable, low-cost safety pen needle assembly which does not require a spring or other biasing element.
