Huber needle with safety sheath
A safety needle assembly is described, including a cap, a housing movable relative to the cap from a first position adjacent the cap to an extended second position spaced from the cap, a hollow needle secured in and extending from the housing, and a collapsible sheath secured to both the cap and the housing. The sheath is concentrically disposed about the needle in a collapsed state with the housing in the first position. The sheath is extendable from the collapsed state to an extended state in response to movement of the housing from the first position to the second position.
Automatic-locking safety needle covers and methods of use and manufacture
A single-use needle cover configured to obscure, protect, or hide at least a portion of a needle from view before, during, and/or after an injection and/or aspiration procedure is disclosed. In some embodiments, the cover includes a housing at least partially containing the needle and configured to couple to a syringe, wherein the housing includes an axis and a guide member. In some embodiments, a sleeve has a plurality of tracks configured to slidingly receive the guide member, wherein the sleeve is configured to retract, extend, and rotate with respect to the housing. In some embodiments, after the sleeve has been retracted and extended one time, a first locking member inhibits further retraction of the sleeve and a second locking member inhibits rotation of the sleeve.
Articulating applicators/injectors for administration of liquid anesthetic and other liquids
Disclosed are applicators and methods for injecting a liquid, such as anesthetic, into a patient with no or minimal pain. The applicator includes a coupling and a blade rotatably mounted on the coupling. The coupling is arranged to receive a cartridge in which a cannula is mounted such that the cannula extends through a proximal channel of the coupling and into a distal channel of the blade. The coupling is further arranged to secure the applicator to a source of liquid such that the liquid can be selectively introduced into and through the cannula into the tissue of the patient. The blade is thin enough for atraumatic insertion into a gingival sulcus of the patient.
Systems and methods for performing an injection
Devices, systems, and methods for performing injections with lowered likelihood of infection include needles and other injection means with protective sleeves or sheaths. The protective sleeve can protect the needle before, during, or before and during an injection. The force needed to administer an injection or penetrate an insertion site using an injection device or system with a protective sleeve can be about the same to up to 50% more than the force needed for a system or device without a protective sleeve. The force needed to collapse the protective sleeve can be less than 100 gram-force. The material, the thickness, or both the material and the thickness of the protective sleeve may differ when comparing the portion of the sleeve near the needle tip and the portion near the base of the needle.

The present invention relates to a safety pen needle device comprising a first needle shield (60) and a second back-end needle shield (90). During the injection the first needle shield (60) is moved to en retracted position this movement causes a actuation sleeve (31) to rotate. Said rotation causes a holding member (96, 98) provided on the second needle shield (90) to be released. When the first needle shield (60) is moved from the retracted position to a extended position the actuation sleeve (31) is rotated further so that a first guide member (74) on the first needle shield (60) abuts a first stop member (34) arranged on said actuation sleeve (31). After an performed injection both shields are moved to extended positions by the rotation of an actuation sleeve (31). After the injection the shield are locked it their extended position.
Contact Trigger Release Needle Guard with Elastic Spring
A needle guard device mountable to a pre-filled syringe in its ready-to-fill state. The device includes a device shield interconnected to a lock collar with flexible member and biased to move relative to the lock collar. The lock collar interfaces with the syringe neck to attach the device to the syringe. As the device shield moves proximally, rotation arms of the lock collar interact with angled cutouts in the device shield, causing the device shield to rotate relative to the lock collar and disengaging one or more keys on the device shield from one or more keyways in the lock collar triggering the device shield to move from a first configuration in which the device shield is retractable to expose a syringe sharp to a second configuration in which the device shield is fixedly positioned to cover the syringe sharp.
