Dynamic stabilization with releasable end blocker-bumper
An improved dynamic longitudinal connecting member includes a rod portion joined with a tensioned cord portion, for use in a medical implant assembly having at least two bone attachment structures, a spacer covering the join of the rod and cord portions and extending between the at least two bone attachment structures, a sleeve, a bumper and a cord blocker. The spacer and bumper are compressed. The cord portion is slidable with respect to at least one of the bone attachment members.
Scoliosis correction systems, methods, and instruments
Devices, systems and methods for use in spinal surgeries. The system may include a fastener system comprising a fastener, a staple, and a locking cap. A cord may extend along the spine and through at least one fastener system. An instrument may be provided for tensioning the cord. The system may, for example, apply fixation on the convexity of the scoliotic vertebrae to limit growth on the convex side and allow unilateral growth on the concave side.
SURGICAL IMPLANT SYSTEM AND METHOD
A spinal construct comprises a member extending between a first end and a second end and includes a first layer and a second layer. The first layer includes a plurality of interlaced strands that define a first angle. The second layer includes a plurality of interlaced strands that define a second angle. The first angle is smaller than the second angle. Systems, implants, surgical instruments and methods are disclosed.
PIVOTAL BONE ANCHOR ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR USE THEREOF
A pivotal bone anchor assembly includes a receiver having a central bore with an integral downward facing surface below a helically wound guide and advancement structure and a first interference surface, and a compression insert configured for top-loading into the central bore into a first position and then being rotatable about the receiver longitudinal axis into a second position defined by an engagement between a second protuberant interference surface of the compression insert and a first interference surface of the central bore. The compression insert further includes radially offset upwardly facing surfaces configured for biased engagement with a downward facing surface of the central bore upon completion of rotation to the second position, and the receiver further includes one or more inwardly extending integral non-resilient structure positionable into one or more outer alignment grooves of the compression insert, also upon the completion of rotation to the second position.
FLEXIBLE SPINAL FUSION ROD
A spinal rod assembly includes a flexible spinal fusion rod including link members that articulate with one another so that the rod is formable into a curved orientation. A locking mechanism is coupled to the link members and can lock the link members so that the rod is maintained in the curved orientation.
Spinal implant system and method
A spinal construct comprises a member extending between a first end and a second end and includes a first layer and a second layer. The first layer includes a plurality of interlaced strands that define a first angle. The second layer includes a plurality of interlaced strands that define a second angle. The first angle is smaller than the second angle. Systems, implants, surgical instruments and methods are disclosed.
Flexible spine components having multiple slots
An improved flexible component used for dynamic stabilization of spinal segments for the treatment of vertebrae deformities and injuries and for the replacement of a complete or segment of the body of a vertebra in the spine is described. The flexible component is comprised of a suitable implant material with a longitudinal bore the entire length and an appropriately formed slots that extend spirally around the flexible spinal element either continuously or segmentally. The flexible component can be encapsulated, fully or partially, in a suitable implant grade elastomeric resilient material. When used for a dynamic stabilization device, the element is attached to the vertebral bodies by pedicle screws know to those in the art.
METHOD OF CREATING A CUSTOMIZED SEGMENTED ALIGNMENT ROD FOR ALIGNMENT OF A SPINE
A method for creating a segmented alignment rod, the method including receiving a request for a segmented alignment rod, receiving at least one image of a deformed spine, generating, a normal spinal curvature, and generating a segmented alignment rod design.
DEVICE FOR FIXING A BONY STRUCTURE TO A SUPPORT MEMBER
Device for fixing a bony structure to a support member, the device comprising a first connecting member which comprises: a main body provided with a first passage configured for receiving the support member, and with a first opening configured for passing a flexible member therethrough; and a rod fixed to and/or monobloc with the main body and protruding therefrom. The device further comprises a first flexible member passing through the first opening of the main body and extending beyond the main body for attachment to the bony structure.
