Catheter system facilitating reduced drag force
A catheter system may include a needle assembly coupled to a catheter adapter. The needle assembly may include a housing, an introducer needle, a proximal opening, a distal opening, and a needle tip shield feature. A distal tip of the introducer needle may be configured to be proximally withdrawn from a first position to a second position in which a bump feature of the introducer needle contacts and is prevented from moving through the proximal opening. In response to withdrawal of the distal tip proximally from the second position to a third position, the housing may move proximally, and the needle tip shield feature may be released to block the distal opening. The needle tip shield feature may not contact the introducer needle when the distal tip moves proximally from the first position to the second position and from the second position to the third position, which may reduce a friction-based drag force on the introducer needle.
NEEDLE COVER
A single-use cover assembly that obscures a substantial majority or an entirety of an injection needle from view before, during, and after an injection procedure. The cover assembly includes a housing and a needle sleeve that retracts and extends by sliding axially within the housing. The needle sleeve carries a locking collar that moves from a first position to a second position once the needle sleeve is fully retracted. In the first position the locking collar allows retraction of the needle sleeve from a fully extended position. In the second position, a portion of the locking collar covers a tip of the needle, thereby preventing retraction of the needle sleeve from the fully extended position.
Medicament Delivery Device
The present invention relates to a medicament delivery device, comprising an outer body, a receptacle for a medicament, a needle for the administration of the medicament, an injection mechanism with an actuating mechanism for injecting the medicament into the patients body, and a needle guard for the needle. The medicament delivery device further comprising a detecting element for the detection of the orientation of the medicament delivery device, and a locking mechanism releasing the actuating mechanism, if the detecting element is in the at least first position, and locking the actuating mechanism, if the detecting element is in the at least second position, wherein the locking mechanism is controlled and/or actuated by the detecting element.
Needle assembly with needle safety shield
A safety needle assembly includes a housing and a cannula hub connected within a side wall of the housing, a needle connected to the cannula and extending from the cannula hub outward from a proximal end of the housing, and a spring connected with the housing. The assembly includes a barrel connected with the spring and at least partially contained within the housing to least partially cover the cannula hub. The barrel is configured for moving, sliding, traveling, activating, relocating, or transitioning from a first mode in which the barrel is securely retracted and locked at least partially within the housing and the needle extends through an aperture of the barrel and the proximal end of the housing, to a second mode in which the barrel extends from the proximal end and beyond the needle.
Needle hub and IV catheter system comprising such needle hub
An intravenous (IV) catheter system may include a catheter hub, a needle hub and a needle shield. The needle hub may include a needle having a high friction surface part. Furthermore, embodiments may include an open and closed IV catheter system. Embodiments may include a needle hub and a shielded needle system.
Safety needle device
A safety needle device is disclosed having a housing configured to couple to a syringe, the housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a housing body. A needle hub is disposed on the proximal end of the housing and a needle cannula is attached to the needle hub. The device having a retractable sheath configured to move between an initial position, a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing, wherein the initial position partially exposes a distal tip of the needle cannula, the retracted position fully exposes the needle cannula, and the extended position fully covers the distal tip of the needle cannula. The safety needle device may include an activation latch, a lockout latch, a tether and a spring element to bias the retractable sheath to an extended state to cover the distal end of the needle cannula upon completion of an injection. The safety needle device may include a slider element disposed above an activation latch. A method of drug delivery is also disclosed.
Subcutaneous needle
The present invention relates to a type of medical instrument, in particular a fifth generation FSN needle, being a special tool for Fu's subcutaneous needling (FSN), comprising a needle handle, a needle core, a soft casing pipe and its handle, and a protective sleeve. The needle core is fixed on top part of the needle handle and consists of a needle core body and a needle core tip. On top part of the needle handle, a round-hole-type groove is provided. On this groove, a positioning notch is provided, including first longitudinal position point, and inlet and second longitudinal position point at two sides of the first longitudinal position point. The soft casing pipe handle is a round tube that can be inserted into said groove. On the soft casing pipe handle, a first bulge and second bulges are provided: the first bulge is used to fix the soft casing pipe and its handle; the second bulges are used to prompt sweep position.
Safety needle devices
A safety needle device is disclosed comprising a hub, needle cannula, housing, tether, retractable sleeve, locking member and spring element. The tether is slidably disposed in the housing, the tether having a slot with an enlarged first guide path and a narrowed second guide path extending distally from the enlarged first guide path. The retractable sleeve is configured to move between an initial position, retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing, wherein the initial position partially exposes a distal tip of the needle cannula, the retracted position fully exposes the needle cannula, and the extended position fully covers the distal tip of the needle cannula.
