A device for inspecting a surface of an object, in particular a reflective or transparent surface, including an illuminating apparatus with which the surface can be illuminated, a measuring apparatus which senses light reflected at the surface, and a vapor-application apparatus which is designed to apply vapor to the surface. To achieve an efficient application of vapor, it is provided that the vapor-application apparatus includes a nozzle, a vaporization chamber having an enclosure, and a heating apparatus. The nozzle protrudes into the vaporization chamber in order to introduce a liquid into the vaporization chamber, and the vaporization chamber includes a vapor outlet.

SOLAR DISTILLATION SYSTEM WITH SUPPLEMENTAL DISTILLATION UNITS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
20210395111 · 2021-12-23 ·

A solar distillation system includes at least one solar panel to reflect sunlight, and a distillation tube adjacent the at least one solar panel. The distillation tube is to receive brine to be processed into fresh water. The brine is to flow through the distillation tube and is heated by the reflected sunlight. A first supplemental distillation unit is connected to a first end of the distillation tube and has a curved surface perpendicular to the distillation tube to receive the reflected sunlight. A second supplemental distillation unit is connected to a second end of the distillation tube and has a curved surface perpendicular to the distillation tube to receive the reflected sunlight. The first and second supplemental distillation units each include sprayers to spray brine onto the respective curved surfaces to be further processed into fresh water.

Method for separating PHA and PHA prepared therefrom

Provided a method for separating PHA and PHA prepared therefrom. The method comprises the following steps: subjecting a PHA fermentation broth to solid-liquid separation to obtain a thallus precipitate; breaking cell walls of the thallus precipitate, and subjecting obtained wall-broken products to a plate and frame filtration to obtain PHA; a filter cloth for the plate and frame filtration is pre-coated with a PHA layer. The method adopts a plate and frame separation to replace the traditional centrifugal separation to prepare PHA, and the PHA layer is pre-coated on the filter cloth for the plate and frame filtration, thereby overcome the defects in the prior art such as high cost and operational difficulty caused by adopting multiple centrifugal separations; in addition, the method of the present disclosure also exhibits the advantages of high recovery rate of PHA and high purity of the prepared PHA product.

DESALINATION SYSTEM BASED ON THE FORMATION OF DROPLETS
20210387107 · 2021-12-16 ·

The invention relates to desalination systems for separating water from solids and/or undesirable solutes such as salt (sodium chloride). In particular, the invention relates to a desalination system for producing potable water. In a preferred embodiment, the invention produces potable water from salt water such as naturally occurring salt water. The desalination system uses droplets of salt water suspended in an air stream to evaporate into water vapor and particles of salt to be separated using a commercially available cyclone separator. The water vapor is thereafter condensed into potable water.
