NATURAL CRYSTALLINE COLORANT AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION
A crystalline pigment or colorant composition having high color intensity and/or low sugar content, and methods and processes of preparation. The composition may comprise purified fruit and/or vegetable color juices.
Natural crystalline colorant and process for production
A crystalline pigment or colorant composition having high color intensity and/or low sugar content, and methods and processes of preparation. The composition may comprise purified fruit and/or vegetable color juices.
Process for producing fuel using two fermentations
A process is provided for forming a fuel or a fuel intermediate from two fermentations that includes feeding an aqueous solution comprising a fermentation product from a first bioreactor to a second bioreactor and/or a stage upstream of the second bioreactor, which also produces the fermentation product. The aqueous solution may be added at any stage of the second fermentation and/or processing steps upstream from the second bioreactor that would otherwise require the addition of water. Accordingly, the product yield is increased while fresh/treated water usage is decreased.
Enhancing a biorefinery with an optional vapor recompression unit while maintaining the ability to operate without the vapor recompression unit
Processes and systems are provided to compress vapors produced in distillation and recover the heat of condensation through vapor compression and to derive mechanical, thermal, and electrical energy from a combined heat and power system, while maintaining the plant's original ability to operate. The plant's existing distillation system, steam generation, and electrical demand determine the design basis for the retrofit system that is targeted at an optimized combination of energy usage, energy cost, and environmental impact. Vapor compression (by mechanical vapor recompression and/or thermal vapor recompression) minimizes the total energy usage. Optionally, combined heat and power provides a means of converting energy between fuel, electricity, and thermal energy in a manner that best complements plant requirements and energy economics and minimizes inefficiencies and energy losses.

Distillation and essence extractor insert for beer brewing machine
A distillation/extraction insert may attach to a vessel containing liquid to be distilled, and may use heated water circulating through a heating coil, as well as draw a partial vacuum to induce boiling. A condensation coil may collect the vapor and condense the vapor into distillate. A controller may monitor various temperatures and vacuum level to precisely control the heated water being used to boil components in the liquid. The heated water may be created by a beer making machine, which may have a temperature controlled recirculating water system. The insert may be a self-contained unit that attaches to a vessel, where the vessel may also be used for fermenting brewer's mash for distillation. In some cases, an extraction chamber may be used for collecting essential oils from various materials.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REHABILITATING ALCOHOL
An assembly for rehabilitating alcohol, including a pressure controllable chamber, a cooler in thermal communication with the pressure controllable chamber, a liquid inlet port in fluidic communication with the pressure controllable chamber, a liquid outlet port in fluidic communication with the pressure controllable chamber, and a gas outlet port in fluidic communication with the pressure controllable chamber. The assembly further includes a partial vacuum source in fluidic communication with the gas outlet port for establishing a partial vacuum in the pressure controllable chamber, and a liquid collection vessel in fluidic communication with the liquid outlet port. The residence time from when a liquid is flowed into the pressure controllable chamber until the liquid exits the chamber is no more than sixty seconds. The partial vacuum is insufficient to evaporate an ethanol solution during residence time in the pressure controllable chamber.
METHOD FOR TREATING AN ALCOHOL FEEDSTOCK FOR THE PRODUCTION OF OLEFINS
The invention relates to a process for treating an alcoholic feedstock, comprising: a) a stage of preheating of said alcoholic feedstock to a temperature of between 70° C. and 200° C.; b) a stage of pretreatment on an acidic solid, operating at a temperature of between 70° C. and 200° C., to produce a pretreated alcoholic feedstock; c) a stage of partial vaporization to produce a vaporized stream and a liquid stream; and d) a stage of purification of the liquid stream resulting from stage c), to give a stream rich in water, a stream rich in monoalcohol and a stream rich in impurities.
Apparatus and method for alcoholic beverage dealcoholization
An apparatus for dealcoholizing alcoholic beverage comprising: a first receptacle comprising means to receive alcoholic beverage, a second receptacle comprising means receive in fluid, a third receptacle arranged to receive alcoholic beverage from the first receptacle, said third receptacle being further connected to the second receptacle, means for producing vacuum at least functionally connected to at least the third receptacle to lower pressure therein, fractionating means at least partially inside the second receptacle, the fractionating means functionally connecting the second and third receptacle, wherein the apparatus is arranged to facilitate vacuum distillation for the alcoholic beverage so that vaporizing ethanol from the alcoholic beverage travels via the fractionating means to the second so that the vaporized ethanol is dissolved with the fluid in the second receptacle. Corresponding method for dealcoholization is presented.
