Solar Powered Water Purification System

A distillation unit for producing potable water using solar radiation is disclosed. The distillation unit includes a heating chamber defining an interior chamber adapted to contain a non-potable liquid for distillation, and a dome-shaped condensing portion having an inner surface and an outer surface, with the condensing portion disposed over the heating chamber such that the heating chamber and the inner surface of the condensing portion are provided in fluid-transfer communication. The distillation unit also includes a pre-heat jacket having a first surface and a second surface and an interior defined therebetween adapted to receive non-potable liquid for distillation therein. The first surface is disposed adjacent the outer surface of the condensing portion, and the pre-heat jacket defines an access entry for introducing non-potable liquid for distillation into the interior of the heating chamber. The distillation unit also includes a trough adjacent for receiving a potable liquid therein.

The present invention is a process for producing various types of cannabis extract from harvested cannabis. A quantity of harvested cannabis, which typically includes the inflorescence, floral leaves, and small stems of a flowering cannabis plants, is pre-frozen and is first subjected to cryogenic grinding to produce pulverized cannabis. The pulverized cannabis is then subjected to butane extraction at a low temperature to produce an initial cannabis extract. The butane in the initial cannabis extract is removed by evaporating it from the mixture in a cold vacuum chamber. The process preserves desirable waxes and lipids and removes the butane from the extract without subjecting the extract to heating in order to preserve the integrity of the terpenoids and flavonoids in the extract.

A dehydration device removes moisture from a process gas compressed by a compressor, and includes a contactor that causes a dehydration solvent to absorb the moisture, a still column that separates the moisture from the dehydration solvent, a carrying line that carries the dehydration solvent from the contactor to the still column, a dehydration solvent conveying pump, a bypass line that couples the carrying lines upstream and downstream of the dehydration solvent conveying pump, a first on-off valve disposed in the bypass line, and a control device. In a case where the pressure detected by a pressure sensor is lower than a first predetermined pressure, the control device closes the first on-off valve and causes the conveying pump to operate, whereas in a case where the pressure detected by the pressure sensor is equal to or higher than the first predetermined pressure, the control device opens the first on-off valve and causes the conveying pump to stop.
