Integrated desalination and air conditioning system

The integrated desalination and air conditioning system can provide desalinated (fresh) water, cold air or both in a single efficient system. The system incorporates a humidification-dehumidification (HdH) desalination system with a water-lithium bromide (H.sub.2O—LiBr) vapor absorption cycle (AbC) system. The AbC system includes an AbC generator that provides a heating source for an AbC condenser that heats the air input of the HdH; two AbC absorbers that provide heating sources for the feed seawater; a first AbC evaporator that provides a cooling source for the humidified air produced in the HdH; and a second AbC evaporator that provides a cooling source for use outside the system. The heat input for the AbC generator can be provided by low-grade heat sources, such as waste heat or solar thermal energy. The system is capable of producing fresh water and/or cold air at different capacities, depending on water demands and cooling load requirements.

Atmospheric water generators, systems and methods are presented involve user authentication, recording and tracking of water volumes dispensed by respective users over periods of various lengths, controlling component noise level and timing, and cleaning, heating and cooling the collected water more efficiently. The generators may be placed in network communication with other such generators to exchange water availability information therewith, or may communicate with a central server element by way of LAN, Internet, cell tower, peer-to-peer mesh or satellite. Information is conveyed to the user regarding the amount of water they consume from the water generators, and their resulting positive impact on the environment. Water dispensing data may be shared on the users' social media accounts, or used as inputs for competitions or games in order to further engage the user. User authentication may be accomplished by way of biometrics or an RFID/NFC tag embedded in the user's water vessel.

20210114897 · 2021-04-22 ·

The invention relates to methods, systems and apparatus for distributed management of raw water and internal combustion engine (ICE) gas emissions generated during industrial operations. One aspect of the invention at least partially utilizes a hot gas air knife to increase or partially increase surface area between a raw water and a hot gas in order to vaporize a proportion of the aqueous phase of the raw water and concentrate contaminants within a residual raw water concentrate. The water vapor generated by the vaporization process may be demisted, discharged directly to the atmosphere or alternatively condensed and captured for use. Another aspect relates to how the liquids and gasses interact to continuously flush the surfaces of the system which may help mitigate scaling issues. The invention may help facilitate rapid transfer of ICE combustion gas particulate and ICE combustion gas chemicals onto and into the raw water as it concentrates.
