Method for preparing ethylene
A method for preparing ethylene including: feeding a thermally cracked compressed stream to a first distillation apparatus selectively operating as a first deethanizer or a depropanizer; and feeding an overhead discharge stream of the first distillation apparatus to a second distillation apparatus. When the first distillation apparatus is operated as the first deethanizer, a bottom discharge stream of the second distillation apparatus is fed to a C2 separator. When the first distillation apparatus is operated as the depropanizer, the bottom discharge stream of the second distillation apparatus is passed through a third distillation apparatus and fed to the C2 separator.
Apparatus for producing water

Water production, filtration and dispensing system
A water production system with a thermal separation device that defines a cold region and a hot region, a fluid-air heat exchanger located remotely from the thermal separation device and exposed to air, and a fluid circulation loop that thermally connects the cold region of the thermal separation device to the fluid-air heat exchanger so as to cool the fluid-air heat exchanger and condense water from ambient air to produce water pure enough so that with further treatment it can be made potable. Also disclosed are filtration and dispensing features that are appropriate for a potable water supply.
COMPOSITE COATING FOR INCREASING ATMOSPHERIC CONDENSATION ON A SURFACE OF A SUBSTRATE
Composite coatings that passively cool when exposed to the sky are provided. The composite coatings are suitable for increasing atmospheric condensation on a surface of a substrate. In particular, the composite coatings may be suitable for capturing atmospheric water. Also provided are methods for producing the composites coatings, methods for coating the surface of substrates with the composite coatings, methods for condensing and collecting atmospheric water, and systems for collecting condensed atmospheric water.
Arrangement for a latent-heat exchanger chamber
The invention relates to an arrangement for a latent-heat exchanger chamber, usable in distillation devices, which comprises an evaporator in a capillary evaporation regime on the inner face thereof and a condenser in a capillary condensation regime on the outer face thereof, with a system for the dosed supply of liquid into microgrooves or micro undulations of the inner evaporator face, preventing the formation of thin films of water on the evaporator face, the arrangement achieving high latent-heat transfer coefficients.
Atmospheric water generation systems and methods
An atmospheric water generation system comprises water vapor consolidation systems configured to increase the relative humidity of a controlled air stream prior to condensing water from the controlled air stream. The water vapor consolidation system comprises a fluid-desiccant flow system configured to decrease the temperature of the desiccant to encourage water vapor to be absorbed by the desiccant from an atmospheric air flow. The desiccant flow is then heated to encourage water vapor evaporation from the desiccant flow into a controlled air stream that circulates within the system. The humidity of the controlled air stream is thereby increased above the relative humidity of the atmospheric air to facilitate condensation of the water vapor into usable liquid water.
Compliant composite heat exchangers
A method and apparatus for separating a separation component from a gas stream. One exemplary method includes: flowing the gas stream across a process surface of a compliant composite heat transfer wall, wherein: the gas stream has an initial concentration of the separation component, and the gas stream has a gas temperature; flowing a cooling fluid across a cooling surface of the wall, wherein: the cooling fluid has a fluid temperature, and the fluid temperature is less than the gas temperature; and producing an output gas stream, wherein: the output gas stream has an output concentration of the separation component, and the output concentration is less than the initial concentration. Another exemplary method includes separating at least a portion of the separation component from the gas stream by: accumulating the portion proximate the process surface; and delaminating the portion from the process surface with a flow of the gas stream.
Apparatus and process for producing a deacidified fluid stream
A process for producing a deacidified fluid stream from a fluid stream comprising methanol and at least one acid gas and an apparatus for carrying out the process. The process comprising a) an absorption step in which the fluid stream is contacted with an absorbent in an absorber to obtain an absorbent laden with methanol and acid gases and an least partly deacidified fluid stream; b) a regeneration step in which at least a portion of the laden absorbent obtained from step a) is regenerated in a regenerator to obtain an at least partly regenerated absorbent and a gaseous stream comprising methanol, water and at least one acid gas; c) a recycling step in which at least a substream of the regenerated absorbent from step b) is recycled into the absorption step a); d) a condensation step in which a condensate comprising methanol and water is condensed out of the gaseous stream from step b); e) a distillation step in which at least a portion of the condensate from step d) is guided into a distillation column to obtain a top stream comprising methanol and a bottom stream comprising water; which comprises recycling at least a portion of the bottom stream from step e) into the regenerator.
Compact apparatus for extracting water from air
The apparatus comprises a first air duct with a first opening and a second opening, in the first air duct are: a cooler, a first suction device and at least part of a sorption heat exchanger having an integrated heating and/or an upstream device for preheating the incoming air. An element for collecting condensed water is also included. The apparatus also comprises a recuperative heat exchanger, which is positioned in the first air duct between the cooler and the sorption exchanger and simultaneously also between the cooler and the second opening. The recuperative heat exchanger has at least two internal conduits connected in such manner, that the first of these internal conduits air-interconnects the sorption exchanger and the cooler and that the second of these internal conduits air-interconnects the cooler and the second opening. The first and second internal conduits of the recuperative heat exchanger are in mutual thermal contact. The sorption exchanger is also air-interconnected to the first opening.
