10960322 · 2021-03-30 ·

A Reflux Rinsing apparatus for purifying crystals using solvent vapor through dynamic equilibrium recrystallization. A pressure vessel contains a liquefied gas solvent, impure crystalline starting material initially, and a purified crystalline mass at the conclusion of the purifying process. A mechanism is provided for providing pressure to contents of the pressure vessel and for heating the lower portion thereof. A timer is also connected to the mechanism, the timer being set to heat the pressure vessel to drive vapors and reflux rinsing to remove impurities at the surface of an impure crystalline mass, to reclaim the solvent, leaving purified crystals and impurities in the pressure vessel, and to open the pressure vessel to remove the purified crystals from the vessel walls and bottom surface and to remove the impurities from the vessel. The angle of a crystal bed in the apparatus can be adjusted.

Provided is a technique for continuously performing poor solvent crystallization or reactive crystallization. A porous membrane in which multiple pores through which a liquid passes are formed internally partitions the treatment container into a first flow space and a second flow space. A raw material liquid supply unit continuously supplies a raw material liquid to the first flow space. A treatment liquid supply unit continuously supplies a treatment liquid to the second flow space at a pressure at which the treatment liquid passes through the porous membrane and enters the first flow space. An extraction unit continuously extracts a mixed liquid of the raw material liquid and the treatment liquid from the first flow space. An aging unit precipitates and grows crystals of a target substance from a mixed liquid.

SYSTEMS, APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR SEPARATING ACTINIUM, RADIUM, AND THORIUM

A method of separating actinium and/or radium from proton-irradiated thorium metal. The thorium metal is irradiated to produce isotopes including thorium, actinium and/or radium. The resultant product is dissolved in solution and a selective precipitant is used to precipitate a bulk portion of the thorium. The precipitated thorium can be recovered. Chromatography is carried out on the remaining solution to remove residual thorium and to separate the actinium from the radium.

PURIFICATION OF BORIC ACID WITH ION EXCHANGE PROCESS

The present invention relates to the process of purification of boric acid by ion exchange method. Boric acid is dissolved in hot demineralized water. The hot solution is pressure-filtered. The hot saturated solution, which is purified from water-insoluble, is passed through a column containing strong cation exchange resin, followed by a column containing weak anion exchange resin at the same temperature and cooled afterwards. The crystals settling by cooling are separated from the mother liquor, the amount of aqueous solution within them is reduced and then dried. The waste solution formed during crystallization and filtrate formed after separation of crystals from aqueous solution are mixed and used in boric acid dissolving process. The developed method enables the reduction of sodium, sulfate, chloride and iron impurities of technical grade boric acid to less than 1 ppm and is more economic and environmental friendly than current methods.

Method for preparing L-methionine crystals using crystallization technique

The present application relates to a method for preparing L-methionine crystals with an improved bulk density. As the L-methionine crystals prepared according to the method for preparing L-methionine crystals of the present application may have a bulk density of up to 800 g/L, the L-methionine crystals are expected to reduce storage and transport costs of L-methionine powder and improve working conditions due to improved fluidity of the powder.
