Static coalescer, system and method therefor
A coalescence method and related system are disclosed herein. A multiphase dispersion feed comprising first and second liquids (i.e. where droplets of the first liquid (dispersed phase) are dispersed in the second liquid (continuous phase)) is passed through a static mechanical droplet-coalescer comprising a channel characterized by a plurality of in-series segments, each segment characterized by a segment-specific-characteristic obstacle size and having geometric features disclosed herein. In embodiments of the invention, the static mechanical droplet-coalescer promotes coalescence between droplets of first liquid to form larger droplets of first liquid. Subsequently, after the dispersion exits the coalescer, the larger droplets are easier to remove from the second liquid (continuous phase) than the smaller droplets that coalesced into the larger droplets.
Interlock for genuine filter recognition
Various example embodiments relate to a filtration system and methods for the installation and use of such a filtration system. According to a set of embodiments, the filtration system comprises a housing that defines a central compartment therein. The filtration system further comprises a filter cartridge positioned within the central compartment of the housing. The filter cartridge comprises a filter media and an identification element. The filtration system further comprises a sensor. The sensor is structured to sense the identification element of the filter cartridge. The filtration system further comprises a filter blocking mechanism communicably coupled to the sensor. The filter blocking mechanism is structured prevent installation of the filter cartridge into the housing unless filter cartridge information of the identification element sensed by the sensor is identified as corresponding to an authorized filter cartridge.
Methods and systems for oil in water separation using oil specific viscosifier composition
Systems and methods for treating wastewater with an oil-specific viscosifier composition and separating viscosified oil, undissolved solids and/or particulates, and/or other waste materials in such wastewater are provided. The methods further include: providing wastewater that includes oil; mixing the wastewater with an oil-specific viscosifier composition to form a viscosified oil; and separating at least a portion of the viscosified oil from the wastewater to provide treated water.
Single stage clarifier and mixing assembly
A single stage clarifier and mixing assembly includes a housing, a mixing section within the housing and a clarifier section within the housing. The mixing section includes a mixing chamber having (a) an inlet, adapted for delivering an inlet stream to the mixing chamber, at an upper end, and (b) a mixing section outlet at a lower end. The clarifier section extends concentrically around the mixing section. The single stage clarifier and mixing assembly also includes an agitator adapted for mixing the inlet stream in the mixing chamber.
Systems, methods and apparatus for producing sustainable aviation fuel from coal
Systems, methods and apparatus are provided through which in some implementations an apparatus to produce SAF from coal includes a coal-reforming-area that receives the coal and that produces synthetic gas from the coal, a Fischer-Tropsch conversion area that is operably coupled to the coal-reforming-area and that receives the synthetic gas and produces a hydrocarbon chain from the synthetic gas and a product-upgrading-area that is operably coupled to the Fischer-Tropsch conversion area that receives the hydrocarbon chain and that produces the SAF from the hydrocarbon chain.
Aqueous firefighting foam wastewater management system
A wastewater management system has a container with the first chamber and a second chamber therein, a diverter valve having an inlet and a first outlet, a holding tank interconnected to the first outlet of the diverter valve, and a controller connected to the diverter valve so as to move the diverter valve to the first position. The first outlet is directed to the first chamber. The inlet of the diverter valve is adapted to receive wastewater from a location remote from the container. The inlet is connected to the first outlet in the first position. The diverter valve can be a three-way valve having a first outlet directed to the first chamber and a second outlet directed to a second chamber. The controller moves the diverter valve between first and second outlets.
METHOD FOR RECYCLING POLYESTER FABRICS WITH USE OF IONIC LIQUID CATALYST
A method for recycling polyester fabrics with use of an ionic liquid catalyst is provided, which includes: providing a recycled polyester fabric; and using a chemical de-polymerization liquid to chemically de-polymerize the recycled polyester fabric and form a de-polymerization product that includes bis-2-hydroxylethyl terephthalate (BHET). The chemical de-polymerization liquid is used to chemically de-polymerize the recycled polyester fabric in an environment where a de-polymerization catalyst exists, and the de-polymerization catalyst is the ionic liquid catalyst in a solid state.
Methods and apparatuses for purification of gel droplets supporting biological tissue
Method and apparatuses for forming gel droplets including biological tissue (e.g., cells), and in particular, methods and apparatuses for removing oil from the gel droplets comprising dissociated cells (including micro-organospheres) are described herein. Although it is beneficial to use oil in the formation of these gel droplets, and particularly micro-organospheres, oil may inhibit growth and survival of the cells within the gel droplets. The methods and apparatuses described herein may permit the removal of oil and may enhance survival and quality of the resulting gel droplets.
HONEY PROCESSING APPARATUS
A honey processing apparatus that is configured to provide processing of a wax/honey emulsion so as to separate the honey from the wax and provide separate collection thereof. The present invention includes a vessel having a first chamber and a second chamber. The first chamber includes an interior volume having a heating fluid disposed therein. The second chamber is also disposed within the interior volume of the first chamber and wherein the heating fluid is surroundably present thereto. A coil is present within the second chamber and the coil is fluidly coupled with the heating fluid. A pump is operably coupled to the coil and is configured to provide closed-loop recirculation of the heating fluid within the coil so as to provide heating of the wax/honey emulsion in order to facilitate the separation thereof. A honey extraction tube coupled with the second chamber provides extraction of the honey.
Desulfurization techniques
A desulfurization system has an oxidation process unit, and a multi-stage, liquid-liquid extraction unit in series with the oxidation process unit. The multi-stage, liquid-liquid extraction unit spits a fuel input from the oxidation process unit into a desulfurized fuel that is output for use, and a by-product. A solvent/sulfur/hydrocarbon separation process unit receives the by-product from the multi-stage, liquid-liquid extraction unit.
