PIEZOELECTRIC TRANSDUCER FOR GENERATION OF AN ACOUSTIC STANDING WAVE
Transducer assemblies that can be used in acoustophoretic systems are disclosed. The acoustophoretic systems including the transducer assemblies and methods of operating the acoustophoretic systems are also disclosed. The transducer assemblies include a housing, a polymeric film attached to the housing, and a piezoelectric material attached to the polymeric film. The piezoelectric material is not attached to, and does not come in direct contact with, the housing. The piezoelectric material is configured to be driven by a drive signal to create a multi-dimensional acoustic standing wave. The piezoelectric material can be attached to the polymer film by an adhesive coating on the polymer film.

FLUID TREATMENT SEPARATOR AND A SYSTEM AND METHOD OF TREATING FLUID
There is provided a method of treating fluid such as tailings from tailings ponds resulting from oil sands production. A fluid treatment separator has a separation chamber having an oil outlet and a water chamber having a water outlet below the height of the oil outlet. A fluid passage connects between the separation and water chambers. The fluid passage is below the height of the water outlet. A centrifuge flow separator is in the separation chamber. A centrifuge flow diffuser is oriented to direct mixed fluids into the centrifuge flow separator. Preferably, the centrifuge flow diffuser is a ring diffuser and the centrifuge flow separator is a centrifuge cone. A fluid treatment system includes a fluid treatment separator and a phase separator and may include multiple fluid treatment separators and phase separators connected in series.

Apparatus and method for separating a feed material containing immiscible phases of different densities
An apparatus and method for separating a feed such as bitumen froth feed are provided. The apparatus comprises a vessel having a top, side walls, and a base. An inlet delivers feed to the vessel interior whereby settling of the feed establishes a heavier phase zone in the vicinity of the base and a lighter phase zone above an interface with the heavier phase zone. The height/diameter ratio of the vessel, the dimensions and position of the inlet and the fluid properties of the feed are selected to allow a feed velocity of the feed discharging from the inlet into the interior to dissipate in the lighter phase zone as the discharged feed entrains lighter phases above the interface and spreads across the vessel interior such that the lighter phases of the feed separate up to an overflow outlet and the heavier phases separate down to an underflow outlet.

ELECTRONIC CONFIGURATION AND CONTROL FOR ACOUSTIC STANDING WAVE GENERATION
Aspects of the disclosure are directed to an apparatus for separating a second fluid or a particulate from a host fluid. That apparatus comprises a flow chamber with at least one inlet and at least one outlet. A drive circuit configured to provide a drive signal to a filter circuit configured to receive the drive signal and provide a translated drive signal. An ultrasonic transducer is cooperatively arranged with the flow chamber, and transducer includes at least one piezoelectric element configured to be driven by the current drive signal to create an acoustic standing wave in the flow chamber. At least one reflector opposing the ultrasonic transducer to reflect acoustic energy.
