Mixed regime passive valve
A system for gas extraction is provided with a flap valve coupled to a bore with a pivot axis offset from an axis of the bore. The valve includes a higher mass on a shorter side of the pivot axis. A valve surface on the shorter side is inclined above a horizontal plane when the valve closes. The valve opens during liquid and gas flow to extract gas from the flow. As liquid flows over the valve, the valve is forced to close. The center of gravity of the valve relative to the offset pivot point ensures that the valve remains closed during liquid flow. As gas flows over the valve, closing forces are reduced and under internal vacuum, the mass distribution about the offset pivot axis allows the flap of the valve to tilt; opening the valve and allowing gas to enter the bore.
COMPRESSION HEAT INTEGRATED HIGH EFFICIENCY OFFSHORE PROCESS PLATFORM UNIT
A system for processing oil and gas at an offshore facility includes a single stage separation module. A gas stream from the single stage separation module is pressurized in a primary compressor, and then is used to heat the incoming oil and gas upstream of the single stage separation module. Flash gas from treatment of an oil stream from the single stage separation module is pressurized in a flash gas compressor and then is used to heat glycol utilized in a gas dehydration unit. The pressurized flash gas is then commingled with the gas stream from the single stage separation module upstream of the primary compressor.
GAS OIL SEPARATION PLANT SYSTEMS AND METHODS WITH REDUCED HEATING DEMAND
Systems and methods for crude oil separations including degassing, dewatering, desalting, and stabilization. One method includes separating crude oil into a crude oil off-gas and a partially degassed crude oil output; compressing the crude oil off-gas; applying the compressed crude oil off-gas for indirect heating through reboilers of the partially degassed crude oil output; and directly mixing with the crude oil a compressed atmospheric pressure gas. In some embodiments, multiple reboilers are used. In some embodiments, heat exchangers are used. Aftercoolers are used after the compressor to cool the gas; knockout drums are used after the coolers to separate liquids.
Oil dehydrator, a system for dehydrating oil comprising an oil dehydrator and a method for dehydrating oil with an oil dehydrator
An oil dehydrator, comprising; a vacuum chamber, a vacuum pump arranged at an upper end region of the vacuum chamber for establishing a negative pressure within the vacuum chamber and for fluid transportation of water and air out from the vacuum chamber through an outlet opening, and a pipe for fluid transportation of oil into and/or out from the vacuum chamber, where the pipe is connected to a lower end region of the vacuum chamber, wherein the vacuum chamber at the lower end region has at least one flow channel fluidly connecting the vacuum chamber and the pipe, wherein an orifice check valve is arranged between the vacuum chamber and the pipe for controlling the flow of oil into and out from the vacuum chamber through the at least one flow channel.
Method and device for the catalytic conversion of a substance mixture
In a method, device, catalyst and a method for producing a catalyst for the catalytic conversion of a substance mixture containing glycerol to propanol in a fixed-bed reactor, substrates of the catalyst have inorganic materials and/or metal oxides. The substrates have a pore diameter at the surface of between 10 and 25 angstroms, preferably between 12 and 20 angstroms, particularly preferably 15 angstroms.
Shaker and degasser combination
A system for separating components from a slurry of drilling fluid and drill cuttings on a shaker screen having an upper side and a lower side within a shaker. The system also has a pressure differential generator to pull an effective volume of air through a section of the shaker screen to enhance the flow of drilling fluid through the section of the shaker screen and the separation of drilling fluid from drill cuttings and further maintain an effective flow of drill cuttings off the shaker. A method of separating components of a slurry of drilling fluids and solids has the steps of delivering the slurry to a shaker, flowing the slurry over a first screen and applying an effective amount of vacuum to a first portion of the first screen to remove the drilling fluids from the slurry without stalling the solids on the first screen.
Fluid degassing system with reduced pressure pulsatility
The pressure fluctuations in a fluid degassing system may be diminished by independently controlling the intake phase and the exhaust phase of an evacuation pump. The speed of the pump's drive element may be modulated at least during the intake phase to more closely align with a pressure set point in a degassing module.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR IN-SITU REMEDIATION USING SURFACTANT-FREE OIL-IN WATER EMULSION
A method and a system for in-situ remediation of recalcitrant organic and inorganic contaminants in an environmental medium are disclosed. Dissolved gases from water and an oil are removed to form degassed water and a degassed oil. The degassed water and the degassed oil are mixed to form a surfactant-free oil-in water emulsion. The surfactant-free oil-in-water emulsion is injected into the environmental medium, thereby producing anaerobic conditions to cause indigenous anerobic bacteria to biodegrade residual concentrations of the contaminants in the environmental medium.
Valve controlled vacuum system
A vacuum system for use with a deoxygenator system includes a housing, a movable assembly positioned within the housing, and a biasing mechanism coupling the movable assembly to the housing. The movable assembly is movable between a first position and a second position within the housing to form a low pressure area between the housing and the movable assembly. A control system including at least one pressure source is arranged in fluid communication with the low pressure area. The control system is operable to selectively communicate fluid from the at least one pressure source to the housing to form the low pressure area.
LIQUID-GAS SEPARATOR
A method and system for separating a flow of matter is shown and described. The system includes one or more flow separation devices, one or more surgical instruments, and one or more suction sources. In some embodiments, the flow of matter comprises biological material. In some embodiments, the flow of matter comprises surgical waste.
